In this paper, in order to verify the performance of a localization algorithm using GPS as an auxiliary sensor, the algorithm was applied to a hovering-type autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) to perform a field test. The applied algorithm is an algorithm to improve the accumulated positional error of dead reckoning using doppler velocity logger(DVL) and tilt-compensated compass module (TCM) mounted on the AUV. GPS when surfaced helps the algorithm to estimate the position and the heading bias error of TCM for geodetic north, which makes it possible to perform dead reckoning on north-east-down (NED) coordinates. As a result of field test performing heading control, it was judged that the algorithm could improve the positional error, enhance the operational capability of AUV and contribute to the research of underwater navigation depending on a magnetic compass.
A mean characteristic remanent magnetization was obtained for the first time in Korea from volcanic and pyroclastic sedimentary rocks distributed in Haenam Area, located in southwestern part of the Korean Peninsula. The age of the prevailing rocks in this area belongs mostly to Late Cretaceous, with a few exceptions of Early Cretaceous, mainly based on K/Ar whole rock age dating. Characteristic remanent magnetizations of these have both normal and reverse polarities with antipodal direction, which were interpreted to be the primary remanent magnetizations obtained by the ambient Earth's magnetic field at the time of formation of the concerned rocks. The source magnetic minerals of the remanent magnetization has been identified as magnetite. The mean direction of characteristic remanent magnetization obtained from the Late Cretaceous rocks in this study is Dm/Im=21.4 supper(o)/57.1 supper(o) (${\alpha}_{95}=13.4^{\circ}$, k=350.0). The paleomagnetic pole position calculated from this result for the Late Cretaceous, is $72.5^{\circ}N/199.9^{\circ}E$ (dp/dm= $14.2^{\circ}/19.5^{\circ}E$), which matches well with those of 80 Ma ($76.2^{\circ}N/198.9^{\circ}E$) and 90 Ma ($76.2^{\circ}N/200.1^{\circ}E$) of the Eurasian Continent's APWP (Apparent Polar Wander Path). This result strongly indicates that the studied area, belonging to the Eurasian Continent, have suffered very little geotectonic movement after the Late Cretaceous. The deflection of declination of remanence from Early Cretaceous rocks in the study area may indicate that the micro-block was counterclockwisely rotated with vertical axis between the late of Early Cretaceous and the early of Late Cretaceous.

By comparing the proteins from the workers exposed to styrene with the ones from controls, it may be possible to identify proteins that play a role in the occurrence and progress of occupational disease and thus to study the molecular mechanisms of occupational disease. In order to find the biomarkers for assessing the styrene effects early, before clinical symptoms develop and to understand the mechanisms of adverse health effects, we surveyed 134 employees, among whom 52 workers(30 male and 22 female) were chronically exposed to styrene in 10 glass-reinforced plastic boat manufacturing factories in Korea and 82 controls had never been occupationally exposed to hazardous chemicals including styrene. The age and drinking habits and serum biochemistry such as total protein, BUN and serum creatinine in both groups were significantly different. Exposed workers were divided into three groups according to exposure levels of styrene(G1, below 1/2 TLV; G2, 1/2 TLV to TLV; G3, above TLV). The mean concentration of airborne styrene in G1 group was $10.93{\pm}11.33ppm$, and those of urinary mandelic acid(MA) and phenylglyoxylic acid(PGA) were $0.17{\pm}0.21$ and $0.13{\pm}0.11g/g$ creatinine, respectively. The mean concentration of airborne styrene in G2 and G3 groups were $47.54{\pm}22.43$ and $65.33{\pm}33.47ppm$, respectively, and levels of urinary metabolites such as MA and PGA increased considerably as expected with the increase in exposure level of styrene. The airborne styrene concentration were significantly correlated to the urinary concentration of MA(r=0.784, p=0.000) and PGA(r=0.626, p<0.001). In the 2D electrophoresis, the concentration of five proteins including complement C3 precursor, alpha-1-antitrypsin(AAT), vitamin D binding protein precursor(DBP), alpha-1-B-glycoprotein(A1BG) and inter alpha trypsin inhibitor(ITI) heavy chain-related protein were significantly altered in workers exposed to styrene compared with controls. While expression of complement C3 precursor and AAT increased by exposure to styrene, expression of DBP, A1BG and ITI heavy chain-related protein decreased. These results suggest that the exposure of styrene might affects levels of plasma proteinase, carriers of endogenous substances and immune system. In particular, increasing of AAT with the increase in exposure level of styrene can explain the tissue damage and inflammation by the imbalance of proteinase/antiproteinase and decrease of DBP, A1BG and ITI heavy chain-related protein in workers exposed to styrene is associated with dysfunction and/or declination in immune system and signal transduction
Hydrogeological systems in a metrnpolitan area can be understood by analyzing the groundwater disturbing factors such as constructions and land applications, the groundwater usage for domestic and industrial purposes, and the groundwater pumpage to lower the groundwater level for the structural safety of subway and underground facilities. This study is part of the study performed to understand the groundwater system in the Seoul area and it is focusing on the hydraulic properties. Groundwater well inventory, barometric efficiency measurements, pumping and slug tests, and long-term groundwater monitoring have been perfonrmed during the last 2 years. The relations between Han River and the groundwater around the river also have been observed. These observations and test data, together with the information on soil distribution, geology, and logging data are used to construct a database and GIS(Geographic Information System) presentation system using ARC/INFO. Barometric efficiencies appeared to have no special trends associated with well depths, which maeans that the degree of confinement of the crystaline rock aquifer of the Seoul area is distributed locally depending on the developrnent of fractures. Hydraulic conductivities exponentialiy decrease with well depth. The stage of Han River fluctuates according to the tidal movement of nearby seawater but the tidal effects attenuate due to the underwater dams. Groundwater levels in the Seoul area seem to have declined for the last two years,but it is not certain that the declination represents the long-term trend.

In the literatual study on the Ecthyma, the results were as follows. 1. The pathogenic factors of Ecthyma is divided three parts. One is exogenous pathogenic factors which including the wind evil, wind heat and toxic material produced by wetness evil. Another is endogenous pathogenic factors which including the declination of kidney-yang, impairment of the liver and kidney, the lower classes of yin-fire, accumulation of wetness-heat in the spleen asthenia, impairment of the liver and kidney, wetness-heat of three yang, asthenic heat-syndrome of three yin. The other is pathogenic factors neither endogenous nor exogenous which including the food and living, uncontrol sexual excess, anxiety and angry, injury of skin, injury of insects and animals. 2. Five viscera which was concerned with Ecthyma are liver, spleen and kidney. 3. Frequent region of Ecthyma are S-36(足三里) and C-7(陰交). External Ecthyma was rose to wetness-heat of three yang channel that cured easily. Internal Ecthyma was rose to asthenic heat-syndrome of three yin channel that cured hardly. 4. In the frequency of prescription, the most numerous prescription is Bojungikgitang(補中益氣湯) and the next are Kyukgigo(隔紙膏) and Yukmijihwanghwan(六味地滉丸). 5. In the frequency of medicine, the most medicine is Calomelas(輕粉) which included Hydrargyrum(水銀) and the next are Olibanum(乳香) and Resina Commiphorae Myrrhae(沒藥) which regulating vital energy and pain control medicine used that in order to destroy insects and remove polson. 6. In classification of the medical action, medicine of clearing away summer-heat and heat evil and activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis used to be very busy which in order to remove the disorder of vital energy for virulent heat-evil. 7. In classification of four characters, the most part is warm medicine, the next are cold and cool medicine and there is a few that is hot medicine. 8. In classification of five tastes, the most numerous tastes are bitter and acrid, the next are sweet, salty and sour tastes. 9. Interpretations of 3-component magnetic logging data obtained for a reinforced bar as a model of the line of the magnetic dipoles are conducted using a least squared inversion technique. The length of the bar is 1.12 m, sampling interval is 0.05 m, the distance between the bar and the borehole is 0.3 m, and the top of the bar is fixed at 0 m of depth. The bar is set to be approximately vertical. Magnetic anomalies smoothed with FFT are used as input data for the inversion. For the interpretation of magnetic logging data the depth to the top, the length, the magnetic moment per unit length, the direction of the magnetization (declination and inclination), and the bearing and plunge of the line of magnetic dipoles are left as unknown parameters. The comparison of the results obtained from the individual inversion of the horizontal component or the vertical component of the magnetic anomalies, and those from the simultaneous inversion of horizontal and vertical component of the magnetic anomalies shows that there exist some disagreements between each inversion result. The depth to the bottom of the bar, which is actually 1.12 m, is estimated as 1.18 m, and the inclination of the magnetization is estimated as -76°by simultaneous inversion. The negative value of the inclination indicates that the strength of the remnant magnetization is much greater than that of the induced magnetization, so that the direction of the resultant magnetization points to the top of the bar.
The formation of slopes is unavoidable under the special circumstance of Korea where $7%$ of the whole area are composed of mountains and civil engineering projects such as road and site developments are increasing with industrial development and horizontal expansions of urban area. Stability of slopes is one of quite important issues under special meteorological characteristics that over two-thirds of annual average rainfall is concentrated in summer season and the localized torrential downpour is getting more frequent recently. As a result of these circumstances, partial slope failures by debris flow of the high water content soils occur frequently in cut soil slopes. In this case of debris flow slope failure, slope declination method is selected fur the stable recovery because it is impossible to recover entirely by existing recovery methods. Seeding or special grass planting methods are followed separately without exception. The method by which entire recover with bigger stability ratio would be possible and grass planting work would be done simultaneously is developed. For debris flow failure slopes, this study secured the safety of slopes by preventing the inflow of rainwater and scour using geosynthetics-reinforced embankment, and created nature-friendly slopes by planting trees on the slopes.

The composites were fabricated by adding 0, 15, 20, 25[vol.%] Zirconium Diboride(hereafter, $ZrB_2$) powders as a second phase to Silicon Carbide(hereafter, SiC) matrix. The physical, mechanical and electrical properties of electroconductive SiC ceramic composites by Spark Plasma Sintering(hereafter, SPS) were examined. Reactions between ${\beta}-SiC$ and $ZrB_2$ were not observed in the XRD analysis. The relative density of mono SiC, SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$, SiC+20[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ and SiC+25[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composites are 90.93[%], 74.62[%], 74.99[%] and 72.61[%], respectively. The XRD phase analysis of the electroconductive SiC ceramic composites reveals high of SiC and $ZrB_2$ and low of $ZrO_2$ phase. The lowest flexural strength, 108.79[MPa], shown in SiC+15[vol.%] $ZrB_2$ composite and the highest - 220.15[MPa] - in SiC+20[vol.%] $ZrB_2$composite at room temperature. The trend of the mechanical properties of the electroconductive SiC ceramic composites moves in accord with that of the relative density. The electrical resistivities of mono SiC, SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$, SiC+20[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ and SiC+25[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composites are 4.57${\times}10^{-1}$, 2.13${\times}10^{-1}$, 1.53${\times}10^{-1}$ and 6.37${\times}10^{-2}$[${\Omega}$ cm] at room temperature, respectively. The electrical resistivity of mono SiC, SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$. SiC+20[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ and SiC+25[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ are Negative Temperature Coefficient Resistance(hereafter, NTCR) in temperature ranges from 25[$^{\circ}C$] to 100[$^{\circ}C$]. The declination of V-I characteristics of SiC+20[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composite is 3.72${\times}10^{-1}$. It is convinced that SiC+20[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composite by SPS can be applied for heater or electrode above 1000[$^{\circ}C$]
In advance of launch, simulated radiances of the Ocean Scanning Multispectral Imager (OSMI) will be very useful to guess the real imagery of OSMI and to prepare for data processing of OSMI. The data processing system for OSMI which is one of sensors aboard Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT) scheduled for launch in 1999 is developed based on the SeaWiFS Data Analysis System (SeaDAS). Simulation of radiances requires information on the spectral band, orbital and scanning characteristics of the OSMI and KOMPSAT spacecraft. This paper also describes a method to create simulated radiances of the OSMI over the oceans. Our method for constructing a simulated OSMI imagery is to propagate a KOMPSAT orbit over a field of Coastal Zone Color Scanner (CZCS) pigment concentrations and to use the values and atmospheric components for calculation of total radiances. A modified Brouwer-Lyddane model with drag was used for the realistic orbit prediction, the CZCS pigment concentrations were used to compute water-leaving radiances, and a variety of radiative transfer models were used to calculate atmospheric contributions to total radiances detected by OSMI. Imagery of the simulated OSMI radiances for 412, 443, 490, 555, 765, 865nm was obtained. As expected, water-leaving radiances were only a small fraction (below 10%) of total radiances and sun glint contaminations were observed near the solar declination. Therefore, atmospheric correction is critical in the calculation of pigment concentration from total radiances. Because the imagery near the sun's glitter pattern is virtually useless and must be discarded, more advanced data collection planning will be required to succeed in the mission of OSMI which is consistent monitoring of global oceans during three year mission lifetime.

Printing, which spread during this period, led to the popularization of knowledge, which raised the level of thinking and led to epochal scientific development. The technological environment of metaverse, a mixture of virtual and reality, has changed the norm of a consistent identity into free and open identities exerting various potentials through alternate characters. Artificial intelligence (AI), which developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, has entered the stage of being used for creative activities beyond the function of assisting humans.
