  • The world's senior population is on the rise. In particular, unlike the past seniors who were in the digital insensitivity class, the smart seniors who want to continue to use smart devices and the Internet are emerging. Although the definition of senior is merely defined as a senior group, research on the characteristics of seniors has been done in psychology studies, but research using data based senior cognitive response is only at an early stage. In order to provide contents according to the cognitive characteristics of Smart Senior, there is a need to classify the cognitive characteristics of Smart Senior well. Therefore, this paper suggests a data - driven senior cognitive response modeling method that helps the enjoyment of culture for seniors through classification of cognitive responses to smart seniors.

  • This paper formalizes a special type of social networking knowledge, which is called "workflow performer-role affiliation networking knowledge." A workflow model specifies execution sequences of the associated activities and their affiliated relationships with roles, performers, invoked-applications, and relevant data. In Particular, these affiliated relationships exhibit a stream of organizational work-sharing knowledge and utilize business process intelligence to explore resources allotting and planning knowledge concealed in the corresponding workflow model. In this paper, we particularly focus on the performer-role affiliation relationships and their implications as organizational and business process intelligence in workflow-driven organizations. We elaborate a series of theoretical formalisms and practical implementation for modeling, discovering, and visualizing workflow performer-role affiliation networking knowledge, and practical details as workflow performer-role affiliation knowledge representation, discovery, and visualization techniques. These theoretical concepts and practical algorithms are based upon information control net methodology for formally describing workflow models, and the affiliated knowledge eventually represents the various degrees of involvements and participations between a group of performers and a group of roles in a corresponding workflow model. Finally, we summarily describe the implications of the proposed affiliation networking knowledge as business process intelligence, and how worthwhile it is in discovering and visualizing the knowledge in workflow-driven organizations and enterprises that produce massively parallel interactions and large-scaled operational data collections through deploying and enacting massively parallel and large-scale workflow models.

  • Digital models for a cable-stayed bridge are defined considering data-driven engineering from design to construction. Algorithms for digital object generation of each component of the cable-stayed bridge were developed. Using these algorithms, Level-3 BIM practices can be realized from design stages. Based on previous practices, digital object library can be accumulated. Basic digital models are modified according to given design conditions by a designer. Once design models are planned, various applications using the models are linked the models such as estimation, drawings and mechanical properties. Federated bridge models are delivered to construction stages. In construction stage, the models can be efficiently revised according to the changed situations during construction phases. In this paper, measured coordinates are imported to the model generation algorithms and revised models are obtained. Augmented reality devices and their applications are proposed. AR simulations in construction site and in office condition are tested. From this pilot test of digital models, it can be said that Level-3 BIM practices can be realized by using in-house modeling algorithms according to different purposes.

  • We model and simulate master-driven TDD wireless communication systems, e.g., Bluetooth systems. We model the Bluetooth system and use the BONeS simulation tool to conduct event-drivers simulations. In order to support more than seven slave devices in a piconet, a park mode is considered and modeled. We evaluate the performance, i.e., throughput and delay, using simulations when multi-connections (bath ACL and SCO connections) are present in a piconet. We show that the data rate of ACL connections may be less than 20 kbps when SCO connection(s) and more than six ACL connections are jointly supported in a piconet. In addition, if up to five ACL connections are supported, the average delay is shown to be maintained less than 20 msec. Our results can serve as a guideline to the design of master-driven TDD wireless communication systems with performance requirements.

  • In this paper, we presents the modeling and implementation of the DDS(Direct Digital synthesizer) driven offset PLL(Pghase Locked Loop) with DAC(Digital Analog Converter) for coarse tune. The PLL synthesizer was designed for minimizing the size and offset frequency and DDS technique was used for ultra low noise and fast lock up time, also DAC was used for coarse tune. The output phase noise was analyzed by superposition theory with the phase noise transfer function and noise source modeling. the phase noise prediction was evaluated by comparing with the measured data. The designed synthesizer has ultra fast lock time within 6 usec and ultra low phase noise performance of -120 dBc/Hz at 10KHz offset frequency.

  • This paper suggests a control technique of the two axes precision stage. The stage is supported by four flexible spring hinges and driven by two piezoelectric actuators. The dynamic motion of the stage is analysed by the finite element method and identified by the frequency domain modeling technique based on the experimental data. The sliding mode control with integrator is applied to improve the tracking ability of the stage to the complex reference input signal. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed modeling schemes and control algorithm can be used effectively for the two axes stage.

  • Based on the MASNUM wave-current coupled model, the temperature and salinity structures along $36^{\circ}N$ in the Yellow Sea are simulated and compared with observations. Both the position and strength of the simulated thermocline are similar to data analysis. The wave-induced mixing is strongest in winter and plays a key role in the formation of the upper mixed layer in spring and summer. Numerical experiments suggest that in the coastal area, wave-induced mixing and tidal mixing control the vertical structure of temperature and salinity.

  • This paper suggests a precision positioning control technique of a precision positioning stage with coupling effects. The precision positioning stage is supported by four flexible spring hinges and driven by two piezoelectric actuators. The dynamic characteristics of the precision positioning stage is modeled and identified by the FEM analysis. The dynamic characteristics of the stage are also identified by the frequency domain modeling technique based on the experimental data. Reliability of two modeling methods is examined by comparing the numerically and experimentally produced responses of the stage. This paper proposes a sliding mode control technique with integrator to improve the tracking ability of the precision positioning stage to the complex input signal using. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed modeling schemes and control algorithm, experiment validations are performed.

  • Uncertainty of result of context awareness always exists in any context-awareness computing. This falling-off in accuracy of context awareness result is mostly caused by the imperfectness and incompleteness of sensed data, because of this reasons, we must improve the accuracy of context awareness. In this article, we propose a novel approach to model the uncertain context by using ontology and context reasoning method based on Bayesian Network. Our context aware processing is divided into two parts; context modeling and context reasoning. The context modeling is based on ontology for facilitating knowledge reuse and sharing. The ontology facilitates the share and reuse of information over similar domains of not only the logical knowledge but also the uncertain knowledge. Also the ontology can be used to structure learning for Bayesian network. The context reasoning is based on Bayesian Networks for probabilistic inference to solve the uncertain reasoning in context-aware processing problem in a flexible and adaptive situation.

  • In this paper, data-driven modeling and multiresolution analysis (MRA) are applied for a full-scale wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The proposed method is based on modeling by partial least squares (PLS) and multiscale monitoring by a generic dissimilarity measure (GDM), which is suitable for nonstationary and non-normal process monitoring such as a biological process. Case study in an industrial plant showed that the PLS model could give good modeling performance and analyze the dynamics of a complex plant and MRA was useful to detect and isolate various faults due to its multiscale nature. The proposed method enables us to show the underlying phenomena as well as to filter out unwanted and disturbing phenomena.
