  • A combined clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit with adaptive cancellation of data-dependent jitter (DDJ) is constructed in all-digital architecture which is amenable to deep submicron technology. The DDJ canceller uses an adaptive FIR filter to compen-sate for any unknown channel characteristic. The proposed CDR decreases jitter in the recovered clock since the DDJ canceller significantly cancels out incoming jitter caused by inter-symbol interference.

  • Storage Class Memory(SCM) has been considered as a next-generation storage device because it has positive advantages to be used both as a memory and storage. However, there are significant problems of data consistency in recently proposed file systems for SCM such as insufficient data consistency or excessive data consistency-control overhead. This paper proposes a novel data consistency-control scheme, which changes the write mode for log data depending on the modified data ratio in a block, using a rollback-recovery scheme instead of the Write Ahead Logging (WAL) scheme. The proposed scheme reduces the log data size and the synchronization cost for data consistency. In order to evaluate the proposed scheme, we implemented our scheme on a Linux 3.10.2-based system and measured its performance. The experimental results show that our scheme enhances the write throughput by 9 times on average when compared to the legacy data consistency control scheme.

  • This study aims to examine the impact of service recovery in building customer loyalty through the mediating role of customer satisfaction and corporate image. This study also aims to examine the reciprocal relationship between customer satisfaction and corporate image in building customer loyalty. This study uses data from 126 consumers who have received recovery for a service failure in five logistics companies which operates in Southeast Sulawesi in Indonesia, namely; JNEs; J&T Express; Pandu Logistics; MEC; and TiKi. Data was collected using a questionnaire which was then distributed to all respondents via google form. The distribution of respondents at each logistics company provider was as follows: 19 respondents were customers of JNEs; 17 respondents were customers of J&T Express; 32 respondents were customers of Pandu Logistics; 21 respondents were customers of MEC; and 37 respondents were customers of TiKi's. The structural model developed in this study was tested using Partial Least Squared (PLS) method. The research found that service recovery has a direct effect on customer satisfaction and corporate image as positive and significant. Customer satisfaction and corporate image have a reciprocal relationship which then roles in building customer loyalty. Service recovery has an indirect effect on customer loyalty through the mediating role of customer satisfaction and corporate image.

  • This study uses HEC-RAS for the quantitative aspects and the QUAL2E model for the qualitative aspects of the flow of urban streams, where the natural recovery system is applied. The instream flow of the small streams is estimated using the numerical model by verifying the existing data with the acquired data. The characteristics of the model reach place more weight on the drought discharge around the ordinary discharge, and this is caused by the natural recovery system that maintains the existing bank. The data of direct discharge to the sewage treatment plant through the inception pipe, BOD, DO, temperature, and so forth, are the official data from the department of environment. Considering the characteristics of small streams, the factors for the QUAL2E model are estimated with the focus on the hydraulic conditions and the stream view. This study proposes the future improvements for the natural recovery system by investigating the practical use of the waterfront and the application of the proper instream flow. Also, the hydraulic and hydrological investigation of the covering rate by the natural vegetation and the meandering by the varying river way is performed.

  • Study Design: Retrospective case series. Purpose: Cauda equina syndrome (CES) is associated with etiologies such as lumbar disc herniation (LDH) and lumbar canal stenosis (LCS). CES has a prevalence of 2% among patients with LDH and exhibits variable outcomes, even with early surgery. Few studies have explored the factors influencing the prognosis in terms of bladder function. Therefore, we aimed to assess the factors contributing to bladder recovery and propose a simplified bladder recovery classification. Overview of Literature: Few reports have described the prognostic clinical factors for bladder recovery following CES. Moreover, limited data are available regarding a meaningful bladder recovery status classification useful in clinical settings. Methods: A single-center retrospective study was conducted (April 2012 to April 2015). Patients with CES secondary to LDH or LCS were included. The retrieved data were evaluated for variables such as demographics, symptom duration, neurological symptoms, bladder symptoms, and surgery duration. The variable bladder function outcome during discharge and at follow-up was recorded. All subjects were followed up for at least 2 years. A simplified bladder recovery classification was proposed. Statistical analyses were performed to study the correlation between patient variables and bladder function outcome. Results: Overall, 39 patients were included in the study. Majority of the subjects were males (79.8%) with an average age of 44.4 years. CES secondary to LDH was most commonly seen (89.7%). Perianal sensation (PAS) showed a significant correlation with neurological recovery. In the absence of PAS, bladder function did not recover. Voluntary anal contraction (VAC) was affected in all study subjects. Conclusions: Intactness of PAS was the only significant prognostic variable. Decreased or absent VAC was the most sensitive diagnostic marker of CES. We also proposed a simplified bladder recovery classification for recovery prognosis.

  • A multiphase clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit having a novel rotational bang-bang phase detector (RBBPD) is demonstrated. The proposed 1/4-rate RBBPD decides the locking point using a single clock phase among sequentially rotating 4 clock phases. With this, our RBBPD has significantly reduced power consumption and chip area. A prototype 10-Gb/s 1/4-rate CDR with RBBPD is successfully realized in 65-nm CMOS technology. The CDR consumes 5.5 mW from 1-V supply and the clock signal recovered from $2^{31}-1$ PRBS input data has 0.011-UI rms jitter.

  • 4:10 deserializer is proposed to recover 1:10 serial data using 1/4-rate clock. And then, 1/4-rate CDR(Clock and Data Recovery) circuit was designed for SERDES of high-speed serial display interface. The reduction of clock frequency using 1/4-rate clocking helps relax the speed limitation when higher data transfer is demanded. This circuit is composed of 1/4-rate sampler, PEL(Phase Error Logic), Majority Voting, Digital Filter, DPC(Digital to Phase Converter) and 4:10 deserializer. The designed CDR has been designed in a standard $0.18{\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS technology and the recovered data jitter is 14ps in simulation.
