  • At the point of implementing policies related to urban heat through the overall environmental assessment of the city using national data, citizen science projects that can collect data in a wide range are emerging for effective policy establishment. Although the utility of citizen data is improving, data quality is a primary concern for researchers employing public participation in scientific research. In this study, validation was conducted based on citizen data acquired in the "Suwon City Heat Map Project", and the applicability to temperature monitoring was confirmed based on the results. As a result of analyzing the validity verification of citizen data using three methods, the data result value is 0.843, RMSE: 0.683℃, and a meaningful value was found within 3km of national data. We found that citizen data utilization is high through the results of this study and These projects are expected to be used as basic data for establishing effective policies or can be reflected in the various planning.

  • The information system of corporations are facing a new environment expressed by miniaturization, decentralization and Open System. It is therefore of utmost importance for corporations to adapt flexibly th such new environment by providing for corresponding changes to their existing information systems. The objectives of this study are to identify this new environment faced by today′s information system and develop effective methods for data resource management under this new environment. In this study, it is assumed that the new environment faced by information systems can be specified as Distributed Computing Environment, and in order to achieve such system, presents Client/server architecture as its representative computing structure, This study defines Client/server architecture as a computing architecture which specialize the fuctionality of the client system and the server system in order to have an application distribute and perform cooperative processing at the best platform. Furthermore, from among the five structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system. The result of this study leads to the conclusion that in the client/server environment although distributed application is assumed, the data could become centralized (in the case of file server or database server) or decentralized (in the case of distributed database system) and the data management method through a distributed database system where complete responsibility and powers with respect to control of data used by the user are given not only is it more adaptable to modern flexible corporate environment, but in terms of system operation, it presents a more efficient data management alternative compared to existing data management methods in terms of cutting costs.

  • The objective of this research was to develop a relational database management system(RDBMS) to collect, manage and analyze data on agricultural non-point source(NPS) pollution. The system consists of the relational database for agricultural NPS data and data process modules. The data process modules were composed of four sub-modules for data input, management, analysis, and output. The data collected from the watershed of the upper Cheongmi stream and Geunsam-Ri were used in this study. The database was constructed using Apache Derby with meteorological, hydrological, water quality, and soil characteristics. Agricultural NPS-Data Management System(ANPS-DMS) was developed using Oracle Java. The system developed in this study can deal with a variety of agricultural NPS data and is expected to provide an appropriate data management tool for agricultural NPS studies.

  • The conventional shared bus architecture is capable of processing only one data transaction in same time. In this paper, we propose the NAWM (No Arbitration Wild Master) bus architecture that is capable of processing several data transactions in same time. After designing the master and the slave wrappers of NAWM bus architecture about AMBA system, we confirm that most of IPs of AMBA system can be a lied without modification and the added timing delay can be neglected. from simulation we deduce that more than 50% parallel processing is possible when several masters initiate slaves in NAWM bus architecture.

  • In this paper, an efficient hardware architecture of Lempel-Ziv compressor for real time data compression is proposed. The accumulated shift operations in the Lempel-Ziv algorithm are the major problem, because many shift operations are needed to prepare a dictionary buffer and matching symbols. A new efficient architecture for the fast processing of Lempel-Ziv algorithm is presented in this paper. In this architecture, the optimization technique for dictionary size, a new comparing method of multi symbol and a rotational FIFO structure are used to control shift operations easily. For the functional verification, this architecture was modeled by C programming language, and its operation was verified by running on commercial DSP processor. Also, the design of overall architecture in VHDL was synthesized on commercial FPGA chip. The result of critical path analysis shows that this architecture runs well at the input bit rate of 256kbps with 33MHz clock frequency.

  • To investigate the air temperature difference between windward and leeward side at high-rise building area, the air temperature and relative humidity data were observed for 10 minute interval from July 9, 2011 to November 30, 2011. The observed data were compared, analyzed and examined to illustrate air temperature between windward side (H Apartment) and Leeward side (W Apartment). The diurnal and seasonal variation of air temperature difference between windward and leeward site were also investigated. After the analysis, the overheat of windward side by $0.4^{\circ}C$ irrespective short distance of two observation positions. It was also lower than those of surrounding air temperature observing stations. It is mainly due to the air temperature decreasing effects of leeward side of high rise buildings.

  • In a Web 2.0 context, users are exposed to numerous smart devices and services that allow real-time interaction between users (or consumers) and developers (or producers). For the provisioning of new user-created services based on user's context, the data management of service creation experiences becomes a non-trivial task. This article introduces a data model for service creation and then proposes a service creation management architecture which enables new service creation using the data model, the management of the service creation data, and the semantic service discovery across internal/external service repositories. The article also explains the use of the proposed architecture with two different scenarios: home and mobile environments. The proposed architecture for service creation data management offers consistent and seamless handling of the service creation data throughout its usage lifecycle.

  • Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Architecture (CGRA) is a very promising platform that provides fast turn-around-time as well as very high energy efficiency for multimedia applications. One of the problems with CGRAs, however, is application mapping, which currently does not scale well with geometrically increasing numbers of cores. To mitigate the scalability problem, this paper discusses how to use the SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) paradigm for CGRAs. While the idea of SIMD is not new, SIMD can complicate the mapping problem by adding an additional dimension of iteration mapping to the already complex problem of operation and data mapping, which are all interdependent, and can thus significantly affect performance through memory bank conflicts. In this paper, based on a new architecture called SIMD reconfigurable architecture, which allows SIMD execution at multiple levels of granularity, we present how to minimize bank conflicts considering all three related sub-problems, for various RA organizations. We also present data tiling and evaluate a conflict-free scheduling algorithm as a way to eliminate bank conflicts for a certain class of mapping problem.

  • Construction projects are large-scale projects that require extensive construction costs and resources. Especially, scheduling is considered as one of the essential issues for project success. However, the schedule and resource management are challenging to conduct in high-tech construction projects including complex design of MEP and architectural finishing which has to be constructed within a limited workspace and duration. In order to deal with such a problem, this study suggests resource and sequence optimization using constraint programming in construction projects. The optimization model consists of two modules. The first module is the data structure of the schedule model, which consists of parameters for optimization such as labor, task, workspace, and the work interference rate. The second module is the optimization module, which is for optimizing resources and sequences based on Constraint Programming (CP) methodology. For model validation, actual data of plumbing works were collected from a construction project using a five-minute rate (FMR) method. By comparing actual data and optimized results, this study shows the possibility of reducing the duration of plumbing works in construction projects. This study shows decreased overall project duration by eliminating work interference by optimizing resources and sequences within limited workspaces.
