공기 베어링 개념을 이용한 디스크 진동 저감 연구 (Disk Vibration Suppression with Air Bearing Concept)

  • As the rotational speed and the track density are increased, the vibration of disk/spindle system becomes critical issue in order to reduce the track mis-registration. In this work, we propose a simple inclined air bearing (20${\times}$20 mm) system which is located very near to the rotating poly-carbonate disk, and investigate suppressing effect for the disk vibration mode (0,0) both experimentally and numerically. We find dynamic stiffness and damping coefficients of air bearing and then apply those values to the disk vibration analysis. Numerical results show about 10 percent difference comparing to the experimental results. Also we investigate the reduction of disk vibration and power consumption with two different kinds of inclined bearing for the normal disk drive system experimentally. We find inclined air bearing can reduce about 30 percents of the transverse disk vibration.

  • In this paper, the existing Stokoe type torsional shear equipment is modified to saturate the specimen and measure excess pore water pressure during undrained testing. Two types of sands, Geumgang and Toyoura sands, were collected and TS tests were performed at various densities drainage conditions, and confining pressures. The cyclic threshold shearing strains were estimated based on the variations of shear modulus, material damping ratio and pore pressures with loading cycles. The effects of relative density, confining pressure, and drainage condition on the cyclic threshold shearing strains were investigated.

Some aspects of the dynamic cross-wind response of tall industrial chimney

  • The paper is concerned with the numerical study of the cross-wind response of the 295 m-tall six-flue industrial chimney, located in the power station of Belchatow, Poland. The response of the chimney due to turbulent wind flow is caused by the lateral turbulence component and vortex excitation with taking into account motion-induced wind forces. The cross-wind response has been estimated by means of the random vibration approach. Three power spectral density functions suggested by Kaimal, Tieleman and Solari for the evaluation of the lateral turbulence component response are taken into account. The vortex excitation response has been calculated by means of the Vickery and Basu's model including some complements. Motion-induced wind forces acting on a vibrating chimney have been modeled as a nonlinear aerodynamic damping force. The influence of three components mentioned above on the total cross-wind response of the chimney has been investigated. Moreover, the influence of damping ratios, evaluated by Multi-mode Random Decrement Technique, and number of mode shapes of the chimney have been examined. Computer programmes have been developed to obtain responses of the chimney. The numerical results and their comparison are presented.

Micro-Brillouin Spectroscopy Applied to the Glass Transition of Anti-inflammatory Egonol

  • The acoustic properties of anti-inflammatory egonol were investigated by using micro-Brillouin scattering spectroscopy, by use of a 6-pass tandem Fabry-Perot interferometer and an optical microscope specially modified for spectroscopic purposes. The measured Brillouin spectrum was composed of a central peak centered at zero and a Brillouin doublet arising from the longitudinal acoustic waves, i.e. propagating density fluctuations. For the first time, the glass transition of egonol was identified to be about $5^{\circ}C$ at which the Brillouin peak position and the half width showed abrupt changes. The substantial damping of acoustic phonons of egonol near the glass transition temperature indicated that the contribution of internal relaxation processes such as small-amplitude librations of side chains to the damping of acoustic phonons may be substantial depending on the internal structure of molecules.

  • The Statistical Energy Analysis is based on the power flow and the energy conservation between sub-systems, which enable the prediction of acoustic and structural vibration behavior in mid-high frequency ranges. This paper discusses the identification of SEA coupling loss factor parameters from experimental measurements of small reverberation chamber sound pressure levels and structural accelerations. As structural subsystems, steel plates with and without damping treatment are considered. Calculated CLFs were verified by both transmission loss values for air-borne CLF case and running SEA commercial software As a result, CLFs have shown a good agreement with those computed by software. Acoustical behavior of air-borne noise and structure-borne noise has been examined. which shows reasonable results, too.

  • In this paper, the design concept of the transport of defense equipment and processes were established. And the transport of large radar equipment design were investigated. Detailed design of moving equipment with reference to the U.S. military standard was performed.Damping system of the moving equipment by using a simulation designed to predict In order to minimize shock and vibration in the vehicle due to the irregular road surface is transmitted through. Analysis of the damping system was verified using the driving test.

Analysis and active control for wind induced vibration of beam with ACLD patch

  • The structural vibration suppression with active constrained layer damping (ACLD) was widely studied recently. However, the literature seldom concerned with the vibration control on flow-induced vibration using active constrained layer. In this paper the wind induced vibration of cantilevered beam is analyzed and suppressed by using random theory together with a velocity feedback control strategy. The piezoelectric material and frequency dependent viscoelastic layer are used to achieve effective active damping in the vibration control. The transverse displacement and velocity in time and frequency domains, as well as the power spectral density and the mean-square value of the transverse displacement and velocity, are formulated under wind pressure at variable control gain. It is observed from the numerical results that the wind induced vibration can be significantly suppressed by using a small outside active voltage on the constrained layer.

  • Statistical energy method is widely used for the prediction of vibrational and acoustical behavior of complex structures, such as ship building and automobile in mid-, high frequency ranges. However. in order to convince this SEA result, it is important to verify estimated SEA parameters, e. g. modal density, energy in each subsystem, damping loss factor, coupling loss factor. with possible other method. For modal density parameter, the experimental estimations via Experimental Modal Analysis are checked with those from finite element method for both beam- plate and plate-plate cans. Loss factors are calculated by Lyon's simple method for the two subsystem. finally. modal experiments are carried out by varying the mass added on the junction of two subsystem for the purpose of investigating the influence on the coupling loss factor's behavior.

The Effect of Density Gradient on the Self-modulated Laser Wakefield Acceleration with Relativistic and Kinetic Effects

  • The propagation of an intense laser pulse through an upward density-gradient plasma in a self-modulated laser wakefield acceleration (SM-LWFA) is investigated by using particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations. In the fully relativistic and kinetic PIC simulations, the relativistic and kinetic effects including Landau damping enhance the electron dephasing. This electron dephasing is the most important factor for limiting the energy of accelerated electrons. However, the electron dephasing, which is enhanced by relativistic and kinetic effects in the homogeneous plasma, can be forestalled through the detuning process arising from the longitudinal density gradient. Simulation results show that the detuning process can effectively maintain the coherence of the laser wake wave in the spatiotemporal wakefield pattern, hence considerable energy enhancement is achievable. The spatiotemporal profiles are analyzed for the detailed study on the relativistic and kinetic effects. In this paper, the optimum slope of the density gradient for increasing electron energy is presented for various laser intensities.

진동.충격음 흡수성능을 지니는 목질계 복합재료의 개발(II) -가교밀도가 상호침투망목고분자의 진동흡수성능에 미치는 영향- (Developmnet of Vibration and Impact Noise Damping Wood-based Composites (II) -The Influence of the Degree of Crosslinking on the Damping Properties of Interpenetrating Polymer Networks-)

  • 사용온도 및 주파수 범위를 고려할 경우 진동흡수재료로서 사용하는 폴리머는 다소 넓은 온도범위에서 높은 손실계수를 지녀야한다. IPN's은 두 개 또는 그 이상의 고분자가 상호 침투하여 망목상으로 얽혀있는 혼합계로서 강제적으로 상분리가 제한되어 어느 정도의 상용성을 부여할 수 있으므로 폭 넓은 진동흡수재료의 분자설계에 적합하다. 본 실험에서는 공중합조성이 다른 여러 가지 코폴리머를 IPN's화하여 폭 넓은 온도 범위에서 높은 손실 계수를 나타내는 고분자의 합성을 시도하였으며, 고분자의 점탄성 및 가교밀도가 적충재의 진동흡수성능에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 동력학적 측정의 결과 IPN's의 상용성은 IPN's화시키고자하는 폴리머의 상용성 및 가교밀도에 의존하는 경향을 나타내 공중합조성이 다른 코폴리머를 IPN's화시키거나, 가교밀도를 조절하면 폭넓은 진동흡수성능을 지니는 폴리머의 조제가 가능함을 시사하였다. IPN's을 적층한 복합체의 진동흡수계수는 폴리머의 E'가 대략 5$\times$$10^7$~109 dyne/$cm^2$의 범위에서 높은 손실계수를 지닌 경우 높아졌다. 특히, 3%의 DEGDM을 사용하여 함성한 poly(2-EHA80-co-St20)/poly(2-EHA20-co-St80) IPN's은 상온을 중심으로 넓은 범위에서 비교적 높은 댐핑성능을 나타내었다.
