The Usefulness of 4D Echocardiographic Modality for Assessing RV Affection in Uncontrolled Hypertensive Patients

  • BACKGROUND: In many cardiovascular disorders, the contractile performance of the right ventricle (RV) is the primary determinant of prognosis. For evaluating RV volumes and function, 4 dimensional (4D)-echocardiography has become common. This research used 2D and 4D modalities to assess RV contractile performance in hypertensive patients. METHODS: A total of 150 patients with essential hypertension were enrolled in this study, along with 75 age and sex-matched volunteers. Clinical evaluation and echocardiographic examination (including M-mode, tissue Doppler imaging, and 2D speckle tracking) were conducted on all participants. RV volumes, 4D-ejection fraction (EF), 4D-fractional area change (FAC), 4D-tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE), 4D-septal and free wall (FW) strain were all measured using 4D-echocardiography. RESULTS: Hypertensive patients showed 2D-RV systolic and diastolic dysfunction (including TAPSE, 2D-right ventricular global longitudinal strain, RV-myocardial performance index and average E/EaRV) and 4D-RV impairment (including right ventricular EF, FAC, RV strain and TAPSE, right ventricular end-diastolic volume and right ventricular end-systolic volume) compared to the control group. We verified the prevalence of RV systolic dysfunction in hypertension patients using the following parameters: 1) 15% of them had 2D-TAPSE < 17 mm vs. 40% by 4D-TAPSE; 2) 25% of them had 2D-GLS < 19% vs. 42% by 4D-septal strain and 35% by 4D FW strain; 3) 35% of hypertensive patients had 4D-EF < 45%; and finally; 4) 25% of hypertensive patients had 2D-FAC < 35% compared to 45% by 4D-FAC. CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of RV involvement was greater in 4D than in 2D-modality trans-thoracic echocardiography. We speculated that 4D-echocardiography with 4D-strain imaging would be more beneficial for examining RV morphology and function in hypertensive patients than 2D-echocardiography, since 4D-echocardiography could estimate RV volumes and function without making geometric assumptions.

  • 본 연구는 우수한 R&D성과의 창출을 유인하기 위하여 정부 R&D기획의 범위를 확장할 필요가 있음을 보이고자 하였다. 현재 정부 R&D기획은 과제발굴에 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 연구팀의 구성, 공동연구, 지식유입 전략 등 R&D수행에 대한 개략적인 가이드가 없으며 연구책임자의 재량에 따라 전략이 수립되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 에너지 자원 생산기반 기술분야 특허의 서지정보를 활용하여 우수한 R&D성과를 유인할 수 있는 R&D수행과 관련한 전략을 제시하고자 하였다. 한편, 기술수명주기에 대한 개념을 도입하여 R&D수행과 관련한 전략 수립이 기술개발단계별로 차별화 되어야 함을 동시에 보이고자 하였다.

  • The purpose of this research is to find a better knowledge service R&D management process. There are four basic characteristics in service : intangibility, inseparability, inconsistency, and no inventory. These intrinsic characteristics require us to change the traditional manufacturing sector based R&D management process. It is necessary to develop an effective knowledge service R&D management model to improve the competitiveness of the service industry and Korean economy. A model case knowledge service R&D has been performed to find a better R&D management model. The whole cycle of R&D process, such as planning, selection, performing, and evaluation has been reviewed by real experience. Several important aspects of R&D process are compared between manufacturing R&D and service R&D. A knowledge service R&D management framework has been suggested. The results of this research can be used for building a better service R&D management process.

Furthermore, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the above functional equation in Banach spaces.

  • Let * be an e.a.b. star operation on an integrally closed domain D, and let $K\gamma$(D, *) be the Kronecker function ring of D. We show that if D is a P*MD, then the mapping $D_{\alpha}{\mapsto}K{\gamma}(D_{\alpha},\;{\upsilon})$ is a bijection from the set {$D_{\alpha}$} of *-linked overrings of D into the set of overrings of $K{\gamma}(D,\;{\upsilon})$. This is a generalization of [5, Proposition 32.19] that if D is a Pr$\ddot{u}$fer domain, then the mapping $D_{\alpha}{\mapsto}K_{\gamma}(D_{\alpha},\;b)$ is a one-to-one mapping from the set {$D_{\alpha}$} of overrings of D onto the set of overrings of $K_{\gamma}$(D, b).

스커트 3D 모델의 기하학적 생성 방법 (A Geometrical Generation Method of the Skirt 3D Models)

  • This paper proposes a geometrical method for generating and draping the skirt 3D models. The method constructs a 3D basic skirt model using a truncated elliptical cone and generates the various skirt 3D models by controlling the elliptical cone. The B-Spline approximates the 3D drapes which change variously according to the angles and the textiles of the skirts. The mapping sources consist of the textile textures and the skirt 2D model. The 2D models are obtained by mapping the 3D skirt models to the 2D plane. The mapping sources allow us to map the textiles to the 3D skirts. We make the real skirts for the 6 kinds of angles and textiles. and investigate the data of their drape appearances. The investigated data are applied to the virtual skirts. Appearances of the virtual skirts are similar to those of the real.

  • Let D be an integral domain, $\bar{D}$ be the integral closure of D, * be a star operation of finite character on D, $*_w$ be the so-called $*_w$-operation on D induced by *, X be an indeterminate over D, $N_*=\{f{\in}D[X]{\mid}c(f)^*=D\}$, and $Kr(D,*)=\{0\}{\cup}\{\frac{f}{g}{\mid}0{\neq}f,\;g{\in}D[X]$ and there is an $0{\neq}h{\in}D[X]$ such that $(c(f)c(h))^*{\subseteq}(c(g)c(h))^*$}. In this paper, we show that D is a *-quasi-Pr$\ddot{u}$fer domain if and only if $\bar{D}[X]_{N_*}=Kr(D,*_w)$. As a corollary, we recover Fontana-Jara-Santos's result that D is a Pr$\ddot{u}$fer *-multiplication domain if and only if $D[X]_{N_*} = Kr(D,*_w)$.

  • 2D 콘텐츠 상품의 가치를 반영하기 어렵다. 3D 홀로그램 DID를 이용하면 상품의 매력도, 구매력, 인지도 등 DID영상 시스템이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 3D 홀로그램, DID영상 시스템, 터치스크린, CMS를 설계하고 3D 홀로그램 콘텐츠 DID 영상시스템을 구현한다. 또한 2D 콘텐츠와 3D 콘텐츠와 3D 홀로그램 DID에 대해 매력도, 구매력, 인지도, 만족도 등을 비교분석한다.

제주도 비자림에서의 세포성 점균의 분포 및 비자열매 추출액의 성장 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Distribution and the Effect of Torreya Fruit Extract on Cellular Slime Molds in Torreya Forest of Cheju Island)

  • Dictyostelid cellular slime molds were isolated from soils and harks of the subtropical forest of Torreya nucifera in Cheju island. The results were as follows: Polysphondylium pallidum,Dictyostelium purpureum, D. mucoroides, D. aureo-stipes var. aureo-stipes, D. flavidum, D. miniutum, P.violaceu m, D. monocrhasioides. D. brefeldianum, D. polvcephalum. D. areum var. areum, P. tenuissimum, D. fasciculatum. In this forest, P. pallidum and D. purpureum were occurred dominantly, and D. mucoroides and D. aureo-stipes var, aureo-stipes were the second dominant. It was distinguished that D. purpureum was much more cornmonly found than the other forests. Cellular slime molds from the barks of the tree heights of 1,3 and 5m were occured 7, 3 and 2 species respectively. Torreya fruit extract affected on the growth of D. aureo-stipes var. aureo-stipes and D. flavidum but not on D. purpureum and D. mucoroides. Mutations within the Putative Active Site of Heterodimeric Deoxyguanosine Kinase Block the Allosteric Activation of the Deoxyadenosine Kinase Subunit

  • Replacement of the Asp-84 residue of the deoxyguanosine kinase subunit of the tandem deoxyadenosine kinase/deoxyguanosine kinase (dAK/dGK) from Lactobacillus acidophilus R-26 by Ala, Asn, or Glu produced increased $K_m$ values for deoxyguanosine on dGK. However, it did not seem to affect the binding of Mg-ATP. The Asp-84 dGK replacements bad no apparent effect on the binding of deoxyadenosine by dAK. However, the mutant dGKs were no longer inhibited by dGTP, normally a potent distal end-product inhibitor of dGK. Moreover, the allosteric activation of dAK activity by dGTP or dGuo was lost in the modified heterodimeric dAK/dGK enzyme. Therefore, it seems very likely that Asp-84 participates in dGuo binding at the active site of the dGK subunit of dAK/dGK from Lactobacillus acidophilus R-26.
