CNC 가공에서 절삭력 예측과 조절을 위한 절삭 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발 (Development of Cutting Simulation System for Prediction and Regulation of Cutting Force in CNC Machining)

  • This paper presents the cutting simulation system for prediction and regulation of cutting force in CNC machining. The cutting simulation system includes geometric model, cutting force model, and off-line fred rate scheduling model. ME Z-map(Moving Edge node Z-map) is constructed for cutting configuration calculation. The cutting force models using cutting-condition-independent coefficients are developed for flat-end milling and ball-end milling. The off-line feed rate scheduling model is derived from the developed cutting force model. The scheduled feed rates are automatically added to a given set of NC code, which regulates the maximum resultant cutting force to the reference force preset by an operator. The cutting simulation system can be used as an effective tool for improvement of productivity in CNC machining.

  • The resultant cutting force during machining with a worn tool is viewed as a decomposition of the cutting force into a cutting force component related to chip removal from the workpiece and into a component dependent on the contact force between the tool flank's wear land and the workpiece. The shear line method, in which the cutting force is considered proportional to the length of the shear line, is used to calculate the cutting force component for the removal of the chip, while the elastic effect of the workmaterial on the tool is taken into consideration to analyze the effect of tool flank wear. The predicted resultant cutting force, expressed as the sum of both components, is compared to experimental data obtained during wave-on-wave cutting.

  • To be presented is two-dimensional chip-load analysis for cutting-load smoothing which is needed in unmanned machining and high speed machining of sculptured surfaces. Cutter-engagement angle and effective cutting depth are defined as chip-loads which are the geometrical measures corresponding to cutting-load while machining. The extreme values of chip-loads are geometrically derived in the line-line and line-arc-line blocks of the two-dimensional NC-codes. AFA(automatic feedrate adjustment) strategy for cutting-load smoothing is presented based on the chip-load trajectories.

  • The three main processes involved in the design of stressed membrane surface are surface form-finding, stress analysis and cutting pattern generation. The last process, cutting pattern generation, is considered as a very important procedure in the aspect of the practical design for the fabric membrane surface. In this paper, The cutting pattern generation technique using the geodesic line algorithms is first introduced. And the numerical examples resulting from this technique are presented. Cable elements are used for the approximating membrane surface and two kinds of model, square line and central line model, are used in pattern generation.   • Membrane structures, a kind of lightweight soft structural system, are used for spatial structures. The material property of the membrane has strong axial stiffness, but little bending stiffness. The design procedure of membrane structures are needed to do shape finding, stress-deformation analysis and cutting pattern generation. In shape finding, membrane structures are unstable structures initially. These soft structures need to be introduced initial stresses because of its initial unstable state, and it happens large deformation phenomenon. And also there are highly varied in their size, curvature and material stiffness. So, the approximation inherent in cutting pattern generation methods is quite different. Therefore, in this study, to find the structural shape after large deformation caused by Initial stress, we need the shape analysis considering geometric nonlinear ten And the geodesic line on surface of initial equilibrium shape and the cutting pattern generation using the geodesic line is introduced.

남성 캐주얼 재킷 패턴 설계 시 허리선 절개 분량이 외관과 동작성에 미치는 효과 - 20대 남성 표준체형을 중심으로 - (The Effects of Waist-line Cutting Portion on External Appearance and Performance in Designing Jacket Patternmaking for Men's Casual Jacket - Focusing on Standard Body Type in 20s -)

  • With suffering financial crisis in 1997, Korea's fashion market has grown in the direction that satisfies the reasonable price and diverse consumer's sensitivity and needs. The aim of this study is to examine whether the cutting portion in the waist line is surely necessary for designing the jacket pattern in men's wear, by closely examining the effects of the cutting portion in the waist line on the external appearance and functionality given designing the jacket pattern in men's wear for the standard body type in 20s. The results of the study are as follows. As a result of evaluating the external appearance, when having evaluated by dividing into 14 items such as the whole surface, the side, and the back side, the experimental clothing, which wasn't cut the waist line, obtained the highest mark in 13 items and, the significant difference was indicated in 10 items except 4 items. As a result of evaluating performance, the experimental clothing, which wasn't cut the waist line, obtained the highest mark in 13 items among 25 items in the total. Next, the cutting portion in the waist line obtained the highest mark in 10 items for the experimental clothing with opening in 1.0cm. The next was indicated to be in order of the experimental clothing with 1.5cm and the experimental clothing with 0.5cm. Given seeing the above result, the cutting portion in the waist line given designing the jacket pattern for the standard body type in 20s could be known that the experimental clothing with the most excellent mark in the evaluation of performance was all the experimental clothing with 0.0cm whose waist line wasn't cut.

  • This paper presents the vision-based camber and optimal cutting line detection algorithm for hot-rolling process. It is important to measure the camber of head and tail part of strips because many problems are caused by the camber in the hot-rolling process. The hot-rolling process has time constraints. The camber detection algorithm of head and tail parts requires fast and less complex for satisfying time constraints. The proposed algorithm consists of two parts: measurement of the camber in the head and tail part of strips and decision part of the optimal cutting line of hot-rolled strip. First, we obtain the camber value of the strip from the difference between the real center line and the center line of head, tail part. Second, the head and tail part of strips isn't suitable for strips connections. Therefore, the cutting process is needed in the hot-rolling process. The optimal cutting line is determined by the head and tail images obtained from cameras. The algorithm is applied into the vision system with two area cameras, Matrox image processing board and host PC for verification.

The problem of cutting pattern is highly varied in their size, curvature and material stiffness. So, the approximation inherent in cutting pattern generation methods is quite different. Therefore the ordinary computer software of structural analysis & design is not suitable for membrane structures. In this study, we develop the program for cutting pattern generation using geodesic line, and investigate the result of example's cutting pattern in detail.

A-line Skirt의 Marking 효율에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Marking Efficiency of A-line Skirt)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the proper width of fabric which can bring high efficiency on productivity. We focus on the marking method by comparing and analyzing the marking efficiency of A-line skirt. This study employs 4 criteria to mark the A-line skirt, which are cutting method, angle, width, and direction, respectively. There can be 2 different cutting methods(fold pattern and add seam pattern at the front and back center line), and 2 different angles(warp angle and bias angle). Also, width of the fabric can be classified into 2 groups(110cm, 150cm), and marking direction can be grouped into 2(one direction marker and one direction per each size marker). These 4 criteria make 16($2^*2^*2^*2$) cases for this study. Main findings are follows. First, the skirt with folded at the center line had higher efficiency rate than the skirt with add seam at the center line. Second, the skirt with the 150cm width has higher efficiency rate than that of 110cm. Third, fixing the warp angle has higher efficiency rate than that of fixing the bias angle at the front and back center line. Finally, one direction per each size marker has much higher efficiency than the one direction marker.
