질량 스펙트럼 분석기를 위한 부가잡음제거 알고리즘 (Additive Noise Reduction Algorithm for Mass Spectrum Analyzer)

  • 질량 스펙트럼 분석 시스템을 위한 부가 잡음제거 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 측정된 이온 신호로부터 먼저 백색 가우시안 특성을 갖는 바닥 잡음의 제거를 위해 측정된 신호의 최빈값으로부터 추정된 임계값을 사용하였다. 또한 각각의 질량 지수에 해당하는 신호 블록을 구성하여 이 신호 블록에 대한 2차 커브 피팅 및 선형 근사를 수행한다. 이 과정에서 임펄스성 잡음과 정상적인 이온 신호로 보기에 불충분한 샘플 신호들을 제거함으로써 이온 신호만으로 구성된 유효 신호 블록을 재 구성할 수 있다. 이 유효 신호 블록에 대한 커브 피팅 곡선으로부터 잡음이 제거된 질량 스펙트럼을 얻을 수 있다. 제안한 방법의 성능평가를 위해 개발장비로부터 취득된 신호를 이용한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 최빈값으로부터 추정된 임계값 설정의 타당함과 제안한 커브 피팅 및 선형 근사기반 잡음제거 알고리즘의 우수성을 보였다.

  • This paper describes a new method of calculating expected energy generation and loss of load probability (L.O.L.P) for electric power system operation and expansion planning. The method represents an equivalent load duration curve (E.L.D.C) as a mixture of cumulants approximation (M.O.C.A), which is the general case of mixture of normals approximation (M.O.N.A). By regarding a load distribution as many normal distributions-rather than one normal distribution-and representing each of them in terms of Gram-Charller expansion, we could improve the accuracy of results. We developed an algorithm which automatically determines the number of distribution and demarcation points. In modelling of a supply system, we made subsets of generators according to the number of generator outage: since the calculation of each subset's moment needs to be processed rapidly, we futher developed specific recursive formulae. The method is applied to the test systems and the results are compared with those of cumulant, M.O.N.A and Booth-Baleriaux method. It is verified that the M.O.C.A method is faster and more accurate than any other methods.

  • An approximation of singular source terms in elliptic problems is developed and analyzed. Under certain assumptions on the curve where the singular source is defined, the second order convergence in the maximum norm can be proved. Numerical results present its better performance compared to previously developed regularization techniques.

  • In this paper presents an accurate AFM used that is free from the Z-directional distortion of a servo actuator is described. Two mathematical correction methods by the in-situ self-calibrationare employed in this AFM. One is the method by the integration, and the other is the method by inverse function of the calibration curve. The in situ self-calibration method by the integration, the derivative of the calibration curve function of the PZT actuator is calculated from the profile measurement data sets which are obtained by repeating measurements after a small Z-directional shift. Input displacement at each sampling point is approximately estimated first by using a straight calibration line. The derivative is integrated with reference to the approximate input to obtain the approximate calibration curve. Then the approximation of the input value of each sampling point is improved using the obtained calibration curve. Next the integral of the derivative is improved using the newly estimated input values. As a result of repeating these improving process, the calibration curve converges to the correct one, and the distortion of the AFM image can be corrected. In the in situ self-calibration through evaluating the inverse function of the calibration curve, the profile measurement data sets were used during the data processing technique. Principles and experimental results of the two methods are presented.

  • 이 論文에서는 NMR 吸收線과 FID 曲線의 모양을 硏究함에 있어서의 projection operation의 應用法을 探索하였다. 이 projection operator法은 NMR 吸收線과 FID 函數를 硏究하는데에 基礎가 되는 한 벌의 hierarchy equation들을 誘導하는데에 便利한 手段이 됨을 밝혔다. 逐次近似法이나 적당한 decoupling 近似를 쓰면 이들 方程式은 NMR 吸收線이나 FID 函數를 理論的으로 計算하는데에 좋은 出發點이 될 수 있을 것이다. NMR 吸收線에 對한 간단한 linear response theory의 考察과 吸收線과 FID 函數間의 關係도 記述하였다.

Genetic Function Approximation and Bayesian Models for the Discovery of Future HDAC8 Inhibitors

  • Background: Histone deacetylase (HDAC) 8 is one of its family members catalyzes the removal of acetyl groups from N-terminal lysine residues of histone proteins thereby restricts transcription factors from being expressed. Inhibition of HDAC8 has become an emerging and effective anti-cancer therapy for various cancers. Application computational methodologies may result in identifying the key components that can be used in developing future potent HDAC8 inhibitors. Results: Facilitating the discovery of novel and potential chemical scaffolds as starting points in the future HDAC8 inhibitor design, quantitative structure-activity relationship models were generated with 30 training set compounds using genetic function approximation (GFA) and Bayesian algorithms. Six GFA models were selected based on the significant statistical parameters calculated during model development. A Bayesian model using fingerprints was developed with a receiver operating characteristic curve cross-validation value of 0.902. An external test set of 54 diverse compounds was used in validating the models. Conclusions: Finally two out of six models based on their predictive ability over the test set compounds were selected as final GFA models. The Bayesian model has displayed a high classifying ability with the same test set compounds and the positively and negatively contributing molecular fingerprints were also unveiled by the model. The effectively contributing physicochemical properties and molecular fingerprints from a set of known HDAC8 inhibitors were identified and can be used in designing future HDAC8 inhibitors.

  • This paper suggests a new criterion for testing the general linear hypothesis about coefficients in multivariate growth curve model. It is developed from a Bayesian point of view using the highest posterior density region methodology. Likelihood ratio test criterion(LRTC) by Khatri(1966) results as an approximate special case. It is shown that under the simple case of vague prior distribution for the multivariate normal parameters a LRTC-like criterion results; but the degrees of freedom are lower, so the suggested test criterion yields more conservative test than is warranted by the classical LRTC, a result analogous to that of Berger and Sellke(1987). Moreover, more general(non-vague) prior distributions will generate a richer class of tests than were previously available.

  • Many various products are manufactured which have sculptured surfaces recently. Constructing surface of these models is required technique called reverse engineering. In reverse engineering, a product which has sculptured surfaces is measured and we create surface model to acquire complete model data of object. Measured point data needs preprocess and sampling. Next a set of point data in a plane fit section curve. At last, surface is generated by fitting to section curves. Here we uses sweep surface. Sweep surface is compatible fitting CAD model to drawing. This paper discusses converting approximation of NURBS surface as a standard surface.

  • A general curve and surface is a basic method to generate Free-form object using the fundamental properties of blending function. In typical method, there is an overhead of calculating to present Free-form object with the line segments and interpolation algorithm, In this paper, for resolving this problem efficiently, it will propose the flexible Free-form curves/surfaces using Ball curve shape-preserving property. This method includes Geometric Continuity that is needed to design Free-form Surface of high degree consisted with many curves. Also, when lots of data are reduced using Geometric Property of Free-form curves, the shape-preserving property of resulting object can be maintained, then it can represent any Free-form object with less calculating .
