After COVID-19, with the emergence of social distancing, non-face-to-face services, and home economics, visiting dining out is rapidly being replaced by non-face-to-face dining out. The purpose of this study is to find ways to create a safe dining culture centered on living quarantine in line with the changing trend of the restaurant industry after the outbreak of COVID-19, establish the direction of food culture improvement projects, and enhance the effectiveness of the project. This study used TEXTOM to collect and refine search frequency, perform TF-IDF analysis, and Ucinet6 programs to implement visualization using NetDraw from January 1, 2018 to October 31, 2019 and December 31, 2021, and identified the network between nodes of key keywords. Finally, clustering between them was performed through Concor analysis. As a result of the study, if you check the frequency of searches before and after COVID-19, it can be seen that the COVID-19 pandemic greatly affects the changes in the restaurant industry.
Despite increasing damages caused by violations of COVID-19 precautions, studies on violations of precautions have not yet received much attention. This study identified antecedents that could theoretically influence the intention to violate COVID-19 precautions based on the black swan theory, and collected 215 responses by conducting an online survey from February 11, 2021 to March 10, 2021. As a result of the regression analysis, this study found that dissonance with COVID-19 preventive information, representativeness bias, and availability bias increase the intention to violate COVID-19 precautions. However, optimistic bias did not have a significant effect on the intention to violate precautions. This study not only provides new antecedents but also suggests theoretical evidence for decreasing intention to violate precautions. This study also proposes the necessity to identify differences in violation intention by regions, countries, and theories.
COVID-19, which started in December 2019, has had a great impact on our lives in general, including politics, economy, society, and culture, and activities in sports and arts have also been significantly reduced. In the case of sports, sports for all fields in which ordinary citizens participate were particularly affected, and cases of infection in places closely related to people's lives, such as gyms, table tennis, and badminton clubs, also amplified the social fear of the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed news articles related to sports for all at the time when COVID-19 was first spread, and investigated what issues were emerging and being discussed in the sports for all field under the COVID-19 situation. Specifically, we collected news articles dealt with sports for all issues under the COVID-19 situation from Korea's leading portal news sites and identified key sports for all issues by performing topic modeling on these articles. Through the analysis, we found meaningful issues such as COVID-19 outbreak in sports facilities and support for sports activities. In addition, through wordcloud analysis of these major issues, we visually understood the issues and identified the changes in these issues over time.
The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in December 2019 and continues to this day, has left the public needing information to help them cope with the pandemic. However, COVID-19-related fake news on social media seriously threatens the public's health. In particular, if fake news related to COVID-19 is massively spread with similar content, the time required for verification to determine whether it is genuine or fake will be prolonged, posing a severe threat to our society. In response, academics have been actively researching intelligent models that can quickly detect COVID-19-related fake news. Still, the data used in most of the existing studies are in English, and studies on Korean fake news detection are scarce. In this study, we collect data on COVID-19-related fake news written in Korean that is spread on social media and propose an intelligent fake news detection model using it. The proposed model utilizes the frequency information of parts of speech, one of the linguistic characteristics, to improve the prediction performance of the fake news detection model based on Doc2Vec, a document embedding technique mainly used in prior studies. The empirical analysis shows that the proposed model can more accurately identify Korean COVID-19-related fake news by increasing the recall and F1 score compared to the comparison model.
The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of job insecurity on the relationship between COVID-19 risk perception and mental health in hotel workers. For this study, a sample of 633 hotel workers completed the questionnaires: COVID-19 risk perception, job insecurity, depression, anxiety, somatic symptoms. The data was analyzed by SPSS 25.0 program and PROCESS macro program. The main results can be summarized as follows. 1. The risk group of the job insecurity had a significantly higher level of mental health(depression, anxiety, somatic symptoms) compared with the normal group. 2. COVID-19 risk perception showed a significant effects on job insecurity and mental health(depression, anxiety, somatic symptoms). 3. The results showed a partial mediating effects of job insecurity on the relationship between COVID-19 risk perception and mental health(depression, anxiety, somatic symptoms). On the basis of the results, we discuss that hotel workers have the vulnerability of mental health in disaster situations such as COVID-19 pandemic, and that mental health risk increases due to the job insecurity caused by COVID-19. we propose the need to support human resource management measures and psychological programs for hotel workers.
Purpose: Since the start of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, various variants of concern have emerged. We divided the representative COVID-19 mutation period into four waves and aimed to analyze the clinical and laboratory features of children with COVID-19 from pre-mutation wave to the middle of omicron wave. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of hospitalized patients aged ≤19 years with laboratory confirmed COVID-19. Clinical and laboratory findings during pre-mutation (February 1st 2020 to September 30th 2020), alpha/beta (October 1st 2020 to May 31st 2021), delta (June 1st 2021 to October 31st 2021), and omicron (November 1st 2021 to May 31st 2022) waves were compared. Results: Among total 827 patients, 163 (19.7%) were asymptomatic, and the frequency of fever and cough was 320 (38.7%) and 399 (48.2%), respectively. The proportion of fever ≥38.5℃ was observed to be high during the omicron wave in the age group under 12 years. Lymphopenia was observed highly in the omicron wave in the age group under 12 years, and in the delta wave in the age group older than 12 years. Neutropenia was highly observed in the delta wave in the 0-4 years age group. Conclusions: There were distinct characteristics during all epidemic waves of COVID-19. Children with COVID-19 had more frequent persistent fever during delta wave and children during the omicron wave had a higher peak fever.
Purpose: COVID-19, government regulation and social media have changed many aspects of life including consumption behavior. The influence of social media by spreading massive news about COVID-19 also have the impact toward emotions threat, perceived risk, and perceived value of consumption behavior in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the extent to which changes in the consumption behavior, mainly for purchasing of corona prevention products through indirect distribution channels. Research design, data and methodology: This research was descriptive quantitative using the IPA method with sample of people in Bengkulu Province. This study obtained 208 respondent data from questionnaires and tested the validity and reliability with corrected-item total correlation method. Results: The study found that COVID-19 pandemic and government regulation variable were in quadrant II, in quadrant III there were social media variable, emotions threat and perceived risk. Meanwhile, in quadrant IV there were perceived value variable. Conclusions: The findings indicated that COVID-19 and government regulation are the most variable that influence people to buy corona prevention product, meanwhile perceived value is the less influence variable. Therefore, government and marketers have to prepare strategic plan in order to raise people awareness to avoid corona by buying corona prevention product.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the experiences of those who take care of the elderly at a long-term care facility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Colaizzi's phenomenological research method was applied to describe the meaning and nature of the experiences of eight workers in an elderly care facility during the COVID-19 crisis. Results: Studies have shown that these workers experienced 'fear from infectious disease' and had the opportunity to 'reflect upon life changed by infectious disease.' They also worked together to overcome the crisis by 'protect nursing home with the nurses at COVID-19 sites' and felt 'safety from the nursing home,' and experienced 'a strong sense of calling for the job' through the crisis. Conclusion: This study is the first of its kind conducted in Korea on workers in an elderly care facility. The results indicate that it is necessary to supports these workers with practical useful education, counseling, and emotional support during the epidemic.
The causes of climate change are natural and artificial. Natural causes include changes in temperature and sunspot activities caused by changes in solar radiation due to large-scale volcanic activities, while artificial causes include increased greenhouse gas concentrations and land use changes. Studies have shown that excessive carbon use among artificial causes has accelerated global warming. Climate change is rapidly under way because of this. Due to climate change, the frequency and cycle of infectious disease viruses are greater and faster than before. Currently, the world is suffering greatly from coronavirus infection-19 (COVID-19). Korea is no exception. The first confirmed case occurred on January 20, 2020, and the number of infected people has steadily increased due to several waves since then, and many confirmed cases are occurring in 2021. In this study, we conduct a study on climate change before and after COVID-19 using weather data from Korea to determine whether climate change affects infectious disease viruses through logistic regression analysis. Based on this, we want to classify before and after COVID-19 through a logistic regression model to see how much classification rate we have. In addition, we compare monthly classification rates to see if there are seasonal classification differences.
Purpose: This study aimed to describe a school health teacher's experience working in a mountain village during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2021. Methods: The study used a case study method based on the school records and reports to the local office of education. Results: In T City, since the first COVID-19 case confirmed on March 8, 2020, as of May 17, 21, a total of 21 cases have occurred, including two third-year students of H Middle School. Since then, one additional case was confirmed on May 18, one more on May 25, and one more on May 27, resulting in a total of five confirmed cases. During this period, 42 students and 13 teachers were self-quarantined, all students and staff were tested for COVID-19 PCR, and students received remote classes. The role of school health teacher can be described through three categories: "collaborator", "care coordinator", and "educator". The school health teacher did a lot of work until the situation came to an end, successfully fulfilling these three roles. Conclusion: Some suggestions were made to prepare a more effective communicable disease response system suitable for public health infrastructure of non-urban area.
