  • We compute zeta functions of 1-solenoids. When our 1-solenoid is nonorientable, we compute Artin-Mazur zeta function and Lefschetz zeta function of the 1-solenoid and its orientable double cover explicitly in terms of adjacency matrices and branch points. And we show that Artin-Mazur zeta function of orientable double cover is a rational function and a quotient of Artin-Mazur zeta function and Lefschetz zeta function of the 1-solenoid.

  • In this paper, a flushing system with automatic opening and closing function of the toilet cover was studied. It works by an infrared sensor attached to the cover is detected or not. When the infrared sensor of the open function detects it, the servomotor is driven on the toilet cover to raise the cover, and when the infrared sensor with the close function detects the infrared sensor, the cover is set to be lowered. A tilt sensor is attached to the inside of the cover to operate when the cover goes down, and when this is activated, the servomotor connected to the toilet lever opens the stopper of the supply port and sends water down. In addition, we minimized the inconveniences for the next user when they use the toilet by using the non-contact water level sensor and LED function to notice the water is clogged during the flushing process. Also, we implemented UV-LED function to prevent bacterial growth while the toilet is closed.

  • Recently, the high-resolution satellite images is used the land cover and status data for the natural resources or environment management very helpful. The SVM algorithm of image processing has been used in various field. However, classification accuracy by SVM algorithm can be changed by various kernel functions and parameters. In this paper, the typical kernel function of the SVM algorithm was applied to the KOMPSAT-2 image and than the result of land cover performed the accuracy analysis using the checkpoint. Also, we carried out the analysis for selected the SVM kernel function from the land cover of the target region. As a result, the polynomial kernel function is demonstrated about the highest overall accuracy of classification. And that we know that the polynomial kernel and RBF kernel function is the best kernel function about each classification category accuracy.

  • Computing music similarity is an indispensable component in developing music search service. This paper focuses on learning a music similarity function in order to boost cover song identification performance. By using the probabilistic linear discriminant analysis, we construct a latent music space where the distances between cover song pairs reduces while the distances between the non-cover song pairs increases. We derive a music similarity function by testing hypothesis, whether two songs share the same latent variable or not, using the probabilistic models with the assumption that observed music features are generated from the learned latent music space. Experimental results performed on two cover music datasets show that the proposed music similarity improves the cover song identification performance.

  • The paper concerns concrete carbonation, the phenomena that occurs in every type of climate, especially in urban-industrial areas. In European Standards, including Eurocode (EC) for concrete structures the demanded durability of construction located in the conditions of the carbonation threat is mainly assured by the selection of suitable thickness of reinforcement cover. According to EC0 and EC2, the thickness of the cover in the particular class of exposure depends on the structural class/category and concrete compressive strength class which is determined by cement content and water-cement ratio (thus the quantitative composition) but it is not differentiated for various cements, nor additives (i.e., qualitative composition), nor technological types of concrete. As a consequence the selected thickness of concrete cover is in fact a far estimation - sometimes too exaggerated (too safe or too risky). The paper presents the elaborated "self-terminated carbonation model" that includes abovementioned factors and enables to indicate the maximal possible depth of carbonation. This is possible because presented model is a hyperbolic function of carbonation depth in time (the other models published in the literature use the parabolic function that theoretically assume the infinite increase of carbonation depth value). The paper discusses the presented model in comparison to other models published in the literature, moreover it contains the algorithm of concrete cover design with use of the model as well as an example of calculation of the cover thickness.

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic procedure to improve the accuracy of finite element solutions using enriched 2D solid finite elements (4-node quadrilateral and 3-node triangular elements). The enriched elements can improve solution accuracy without mesh refinement by adding cover functions to the displacement interpolation of the standard elements. The enrichment scheme is more effective when used adaptively for areas with insufficient accuracy rather than the entire model. For given meshes, an error for each node is estimated, and then proper degrees of cover functions are applied to the selected nodes. A new error estimation method and cover function selection scheme are devised for the proposed adaptive enrichment scheme. Herein, we demonstrate the proposed enrichment scheme through several 2D problems.

  • This study was carried out on 132 obese women who satisfied both of conditions for obesity: equal to or over 1.6 in Rohrer index and 90 in bust girth. The purpose of the study was to set up a sizing system using the loss function which would be a guide for obese women to select ready-to-wear of suitable size. The results were as follows. 1) In the sizing system for large size apparel industry, each company has 4 to 7 sizes that differ in their content and number. Producing only 5 sizes was trying to minimize the producti on expenses. 2) The sizing system according to the loss function was the follwings. The height was 3: 149, 154.5 and 161 cm. The bust girth was 5:96.5, 100.5, 104, 107.5, 112 cm. The hip girth was 5: 95, 99, 102.5, 105.5, 110 cm. 3) In comparing the cover ratio of the newly suggested sizing system for obese women's garment with that of the Korea Sizing system for women's garment, the former was founded to have the greater cover ratio.

  • Computing music similarity is an indispensable component in developing music search service. This paper proposes a relevance weight of each chromagram vector for cover song identification in computing a music similarity function in order to boost identification accuracy. We derive a music similarity function using the relevance weight based on the probabilistic relevance model, where higher relevance weights are assigned to less frequently-occurring discriminant chromagram vectors while lower weights to more frequently-occurring ones. Experimental results performed on two cover music datasets show that the proposed music similarity improves the cover song identification performance.

  • Multi-temporal approaches using sequential data acquired over multiple years are essential for satisfactory discrimination between many land-cover classes whose signatures exhibit seasonal trends. At any particular time, the response of several classes may be indistinguishable. A harmonic model that can represent seasonal variability is characterized by four components: mean level, frequency, phase and amplitude. The trigonometric components of the harmonic function inherently contain temporal information about changes in land-cover characteristics. Using the estimates which are obtained from sequential images through spectral analysis, seasonal periodicity can be incorporates into multi-temporal classification. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) was computed for one week composites of the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) imagery over the Korean peninsula for 1996 ~ 2000 using a dynamic technique. Land-cover types were then classified both with the estimated harmonic components using an unsupervised classification approach based on a hierarchical clustering algorithm. The results of the classification using the harmonic components show that the new approach is potentially very effective for identifying land-cover types by the analysis of its multi-temporal behavior.

  • The aim of this work is to introduce for the first time the concept of D-set. This is done by defining a special type of cover called a D-cover. we present some results to study the properties of D-compact spaces and their relations with other topological spaces. Several examples are discussed to illustrate and support our main results. Our results extend and generalized many will known results in the literature.
