  • Noise is a problem in many electronic circuits and active control system. Arising from spuriously coupled noise from other circuits, it corrupts the signal of interest and introduces an uncertainty into information it contains. In this paper, re have researched noise characteristics of the inductive displacement sensor which has been designed. n first present basic concept and characteristics of magnetic field-coupled noise in the sensor output signal. Then, n are present relation noise and sensor performances. Finally, we concentrate low noise design of a sensor driver and a signal detection circuit.

  • Even though, tanks are used at the many industry plants, it is very difficult to control the tank level without any overflow and shortage; moreover, cause of its complication of dynamics and nonlinearity, it's impossible to realize the accurate control using the mathematical model which can be applied to the various operation modes. However, the sliding mode controller(SMC) is known as having the robust variable structures for the nonlinear control systems with the parametric perturbations and with the sudden disturbances, but the auto-tuning of parameters was a problem. Therefore, in this paper, a Genetic Algorithm based Sliding Mode Controller (GA-SMC) for the precise control of the coupled tank level was tried. GA optimized the SMCs switching parameters easily and rapidly. The simulation results are shown that the tank level could be satisfactorily controlled with less overshoot and steady-stale error by the proposed GA-SMC.

  • Coupling of non-linear oscillators have long been an interesting problem for physicists. The coupling phenomena have been frequently observed in Josephson junction series array, which have been used for Josephson voltage standard. Interestingly pronounced self-generation effect has been found during recent development of Josephson arrays for programmable Josephson voltage standard. But the coupling effect between the self-generations is not fully understood yet. We present harmonically approximated analytical solutions for coupled self-generations in the Josephson arrays, i.e., Superconductor-Insulator-Normal metal-Insulator-Superconductor (SINIS) array, externally shunted Superconductor-Insulator-Supercondctor (es-SIS) array, Superconductor-Normal metal-Superconductor (SNS) array. We find that the coupling between the self-generated Josephson oscillations through microwave transmission line plays critical role in microwave property of the Josephson array.

  • In flat rolling mills, demands for precise process set-up and control are increasing than ever before. Consequently, it is imperative to establish a novel approach, which would provide valuable information regarding the detailed aspects of deformation behavior of the strip, and rolls during rolling. In this paper, we present a finite element (FE) approach for 3-D coupled analysis of the elastic-plastic deformation of the strip and the elastic deformation of rolls in the roll-stack of a mill stand.

  • A general approach is proposed for 3-D coupled FE analysis of the deformation of the strip and rolls in flat rolling. FE formulation, schemes for the treatment of contact occurring in a cluster of deforming objects, and the solution strategy are described in detail. The validity of the approach is examined through comparison with observed measurements. The approach is applied to the analysis of deformation in a four-high and six-high mill.

  • The diffusion behavior of liquid into polymer has been described by Fick's law, but the departure from Fickian diffusion is frequently found. In this study, 'noble' expressions for the rates of relaxation and sorption are introduced to eliminate these limitations. The ralaxation-sorption coupled mechanism model are based on the possibility of contacting liquid molecule and the active site which has the numerical concept of free volume. The concept has an analogy of reaction rate expressed by the possibility of collision with molecules and used in adsorption and reactive extraction etc. The new model simulated by Rungc-Kutta method for initial-value problem and Fickian diffusion is caompared with experimental data. The results show that the ralaxation-sorption coupled mechanism is able to account well for Fickian and non-Fickian sorption behavior including sigmoid and two-stage. In addition, this model has a chance of expansion to multi-component sorption with ease.

  • This paper discusses the enhancement of the buckling capacity of column strips by use of piezoelectric layer. The analytical model for obtaining the buckling capacity of the piezoelectric coupled column with general boundary conditions modelled with different types of springs applied at the ends of the column is derived the first time. Based on this proposed model, the buckling capacity of the column strips can be accurately predicted by solving an eigenvalue problem. The computational results show the great potential of the piezoelectric materials in enhancing the buckling capacity of the column strips. The optimal locations of the piezoelectric layer for higher buckling capacity are also obtained for the columns with. standard pinned-pinned, fixed-free, and fixed-pinned structures. In addition, the buckling capacity and the increase of buckling capacity are discussed for those columns with the general boundaries as well. This research may provide a benchmark for the buckling analysis of the piezoelectric coupled strips.

  • In this paper, we consider $H^{\infty}$ optimal Kalman filter problems for linear weakly coupled stochastic systems. We introduce a decomposition for the systems of the Hamiltonian form, which plays an important role of exclusion of ill-condition by ${\varepsilon}$-effect and the parallel computation possibility. It is shown that the algebraic Riccati equation of the weakly coupled $H^{\infty}$ optimal Kalman filter problem is decoupled into completely independent reduced-order, well-defined, two suboptimal Kalman filters.

  • This paper deals with finite element eigenvalue problem using electric field intensity to extract the even and odd impedance for a coupled-line waveguide structure. Calculations for the even-and-odd impedance of a coupled line waveguide structure are achieved based on the relative impedance concept for a waveguide with electric and magnetic wall containes.

  • This paper deals with the flutter instability problem of flexible bridge decks in the framework of bimodal-coupled aeroelastic bridge system analysis. Based on the analysis of coefficients of the polynomials deduced from the singularity conditions of an integral wind-structure impedance matrix, a set of simplified formulations for calculating the critical wind velocity and coupled frequency are presented. Several case studies are discussed and comparisons with available approximated approaches are made and presented, along with a conventional complex eigenvalue analysis and numerical results. From the results, it is found that the formulas that are presented in this study are applicable to a variety of bridge cross sections that are not only prone to coupled-mode but also to single-mode-dominated flutter.
