  • This paper presents the method of determination for optimal underground power distribution system in our country. To get optimal system, it is necessary to evaluate reasonably important factors such as installation cost, reliability index, customer interruption cost, convenience of installation and system flexibility. This study also described the new method which was applied to UI-San industrial park as a case study.

  • This paper addresses the design of State-feedback Robust Guaranteed-Cost Controllers with controller gain variations. Since the unstructured uncertainty is the most dominant uncertainty in the modeling of the plant, the plant is assumed to have the unstructured uncertainty. It is necessary to take the controller parameter perturbation into consideration when we design the robust controller. Otherwise, the resulting controller may show the fragility property. That is to say, the extremely small controller parameter variation may result in the instability of the overall closed-loop system.   • We improved an efficiency of fiber-optic current transformer by using a metal-coated sensor coil. To reduce the linear birefringence, we used a length of spun fiber as sensor coil, and then used a flint glass fiber coil for comparison. To make the sensor coil in the reflection type, we used different reflection mirrors at the end of the sensor coil, such as a Faraday rotator mirror, a simple mirror, a metal-coated fiber end and a simple fiber end. From the experimental results, the linear error of current measurements were less than ${\sim}$ 0.2 % regardless of the mirror types. The metal-coated sensor was the most cost-effective considering the fabrication cost and the simple structure.

  • Instead of very expensive sound record and professional measurement microphones the low cost Surface Mounted Device (SMD) microphones are proposed for practical barrier ANC system. FRF of the microphones and theirs sensitivity to the wind interferences are evaluated in semi anechoic chamber. The improvement of feedforward algorithm noise reduction index was evaluated based on measured coherence function between tested SMD and reference microphone. Test was performed at various wind speed from 1 m/s to 5 m/s.

  • Collision avoidance for multiple aircraft can be stated as a problem ofmaintaining safe distance between aircraft in conflict. Optimal collision avoidanceproblem seeks to minimize the given cost function while simultaneously satisfyingconstraints. The cost function could be a function of time or control input. This paper addresses the trajectory time-optimization problem for collision avoidance of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs). The problem is difficult to handle in general due to the two-point boundary value problem subject to dynamic environments. Some simplifying aleorithms are used for potential applications in on-line operation.Although under possibility of more complicated problems, a dynamic problem is transformed into a static one by prediction of the conflict time and some appropriate assumptions.

  • Barber bogie and Y25 bogie is the main bogie of freight car which is used in the Korean railway. In case of Barber bogie and a mixed formation tile maximum speed limit of empty car is 70 km/h and that of loaded car is 90 km/t and also it runs a speed of 110 km/h in time of an exclusive formation of Y25 bogie. The car named as high speed freight car at present is Y25 bogie which modeled on the Y25 bogie or Europe developed in 1993, Y25 bogie has no problem about the running capacity up to the speed of 110 km/h, but it works as limiting factors to tile increasing cost of maintenance and repair expenses which caused by repair of bogie and the cost of materials. This study is going to describe the contents examined by analysis and tests, aimed at being used as an index of plan in the future through the strength test of high speed freight car which is used now.

  • 컴퓨터 상에서 집합, 트리, 그래프 등의 이산 객체(discrete object)는 메모리 주소와 같은 정수 값으로 표현되어 왔다. Succinct 표현(succinct representation)은 이산 객체를 이진화 하여 표현하는 방법으로, 정수 값으로 표현된 이산객체보다 적은 공간에 저장된다. Succinct 표현의 데이터는 이산 객체의 개별적 저장 위치를 파악하기 위해서rank와 select함수가 기본적으로 필요하다. rant와 select함수를 MBRAM 모델 상에서 O(1)시간에 계산하는 알고리즘이 제시되었다. MBRAM 모델은 비트연산을 unit cost로 수행하는 모델이다. 그러나 범용 컴퓨터는 바이트 단위의 기본 명령어를 제공하므로 비트연산을 unit cost에 수행할 수 없다. 본 논문은 범용 컴퓨터에서 효율적으로 rank함수를 구현하는 방법을 제시한다. rank함수의 효율적인 구현은 FM-index 등의 패턴 검색에 유용하다.

  • Recently, asymmetrical cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter started to be highlighted as an alternative for the symmetrical cascaded H-bridge. The topology has a small number of part count compared to the symmetrical with higher number of levels. However, it has a drawback of the modulation index limitation which is relatively higher than its symmetrical counterpart, which causes a necessity of an extra voltage pre-regulator. In this paper, the single-sourced pre-regulator is unified with an inner single switch DC/DC converter isolated by coupled inductor. It leads to cost and size reduction. The proposed topology is verified using simulation results.

  • Life cycle of the rolling stock is normally 20 to 40 years, though there is some difference in accordance with each vehicle. Maintenance cost is over the twice of purchasing price. and also it is true that precise statics is not managed properly except for some developed countries due to the difference of maintenance method, skills. After KORAIL introduced ERP system in 2007, maintenance cost is managed by type of cars, by unit. but, afterwards it should be controlled as an index and also more precisely. it is the best pending issues to make train maintenance efficiency, to utilize accumulated indexes. I want to attribute to train maintenance efficiency by analysing what is the problems in the present maintenance method.

  • One major development in bridge life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) in recent years is to develop deterioration model for bridge components so that the times of repair/replacement throughout a component's life span can be properly determined. Taiwan also developed her own bridge LCCA model in 2003, integrating with the bridge inspection database in the local bridge management system (T-BMS). Under the framework of the local LCCA model, this study employs the reliability method in developing a deterioration model of bridge components. A component deteriorates through time in its reliability, which represents the probability of a component's condition index exceeds a user specified threshold. Model assumptions and rationale are described in the paper. The steps for applying the developed model are explained in detail. Results and findings are reported.
