  • In this paper, we investigated the information gifted teachers' recognition about the copyright and developed a copyright education. Firstly, we compared the copyright-related knowledge, affective, and attitude with the information gifted teachers and regular classroom teachers. As a result of survey, we found that a copyright education in the teacher training for the information gifted was needed, because it was not different between two groups. Accordingly, we developed the copyright education program in the teacher training for the information gifted. We also verified an effectiveness of proposed copyright education program by expert group testing. We expect that this study will contribute the spread of copyright cognition in the information gifted education.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in perception and attitude of fashion major college students before and after receiving their design copyright education. A questionnaire survey was distributed to 200 fashion major college students in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows: First, 46.0% of fashion major students had an experience of purchasing counterfeit fashion goods. Out of those, 81.5% students acknowledged that the product was counterfeit and still purchased it. Categories of counterfeit goods purchased were bags, clothes, and accessories, in order of popularity. The students reported purchasing counterfeit goods twice and three times, in order of popularity. The prices of the counterfeit products were 100,000 to under 200,000 won, and under 100,000 won, in order of popularity. Second, the cognitive domain, the practical domain, and the value domain all showed significant differences between before and after the copyright education. Among these, the differences in the practical domain were the most distinctive. Third, prior to receiving their copyright education, most of the students had no perception about the design copyright system and so most of the students gained helpful information from the education. For future design copyright education, the students want to learn about how to protect their own designs, how to apply copyright in a fashion company, how to avoid invading other people's designs, and categories of design copyright.

It will give them a good environment to learn more about copyright and motivate surroundings. With this kind of education, We can make and protect works better. This thesis is a result of study to show how to and when to instruct people copyright even though we have faced constant argument on copyright and new approach to the economic value of cultural contents which has been under industrialization. Also, another big issue is what class would be a good target of the education on copyright. College may be the last place in the regular course for education before starling his or her career. Thus, the education that is focused on the importance of copyright is recommendable at this time. Particularly, the students who are majoring carton, animation and character can keep a good attitude to protect copyrights for others through the timely education on copyright. What's more, we can build better environment for students who will start their career in the field of the cultural contents and copyrights because they will not only try protect copyrights for others but also they know their works will be protected through thls kind of education on copyright. I believe this kind of education in college will promote the development in the field of cultural contents and copyrights. Also, it will support social and economic development In culture after all.

  • The results of advanced studies which handled the relationship between social norm and intention to use illegal download don't match exactly. This study determined that the reason why the results of advanced studies are confused is, that moderator variables play important roles. For this reason, this study planned to test for significance of moderators consisting of attitude to copyright law(A) and perceived price importance at time of purchase(B). To achieve this, the present study divide social norm into two norms(subjective norm and group norm) and set up hypotheses on the moderating effects of two variables(A, B) between these two norms and intention to use the illegal download. The results show that all but one hypotheses are accepted. The other moderating effect hypothesis which is consist of subjective norm and attitude toward copyright law is rejected. This means that the effect of group norm on intention to use illegal download is moderated by attitude to copyright law. Also, this result means the effects of group/subjective norm on intention to use illegal download is moderated by the perceived price importance at time of purchase.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Internet copyright education on ethical consciousness, moral judgement and piracy intention in Internet copyright. The result of empirical research shows that Internet copyright education effects on piracy intention through moral judgement in order to make a right or wrong decision about the actual piracy behavior. On the other hand, the internet copyright education does not effect on ethical consciousness and piracy intention directly. This result implies that internet copyright education do not actually impact on the attitude and consciousness of online piracy, and that right understanding and proper internet ethic education program have to be considered to protect negative consequences by online piracy.

  • In order to reduce the spread of illegal digital contents, many studies have been focusing on how to stop it through laws and regulations. Only few of the studies tried to explain the illegal behaviors from individual's viewpoints. This paper aims to examine the intention of sharing illegal digital contents over the Internet and proposes a theoretical model based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) along with the introduction of two outcome expectations. We also argue that the individuals' cognition of online copyright will influence individuals' illegal contents sharing on the Internet. We have collected data from online survey and offline interview. By empirical study, the results support the theoretical model except the subjective norm which has no effect on individuals' behavior. This is a different finding from the previous researches revealing that the subjective norm has no effect on individuals' unethical actions. Overall, the findings provide strong confirmation that attitude, self-efficacy and outcome expectations impact on individual's intention of sharing illegal contents. In addition, this study proposed an improved cognition of online copyright through education and standard of new media management will reduce illegal contents sharing on Internet.

  • The core of contents monetization is the consumer's willingness to pay. In the past, the terrestrial contents can be used through the frequency for free. As the terrestrial contents use via online services has been increased, the importance of willingness to pay for the broadcasting contents is getting bigger. To find critical factors which can influence on the willingness to pay for the terrestrial contents, independent factors are categorized into three. The independent factors are users' awareness for copyright protection, contents characteristics, and platform characteristics. The results show that attitude for paying, subjective norms for copyright protection, rapid providing of contents, quality of service, social critical point, and expected service value are found out as significant factors. This result implies that it is necessary to enhance platform competitiveness to survive in convergence environment and customer relationships should be reinforced to maintain them as loyal customers.

  • This investigates the major factors that impact digital contents piracy in a college environment, mainly because the violation of the copyright is known to occur most often in college environments. Using a theoretical model based on Theory of Reasoned Action, this study examines the causal relationships among the variables of the digital contents piracy behavior. Major research variables include intention to commit piracy, attitude, social influence, fear of legal consequences, enjoyment, perceived easiness, knowledge level, and facilitating conditions. Survey responses from 335 undergraduate and graduate students indicate that the attitude and social influence affect the intention to commit piracy, and that social influence, enjoyment and perceived easiness influence the attitude. But, contrary to our expectation, knowledge level has been found to have no impact on the attitude. Perceived easiness, fear of legal consequences and facilitating conditions have all been shown to affect social influence. As a conclusion, the academic and practical implications of these findings are discussed.
