열전소자를 이용한 냉·온장시스템 개발 (Development of Cooling/Warming System Using Thermoelectric Device)

  • 열전효과란 온도차를 전기적인 크기 즉 전압으로 변환시키는 것을 말한다. 또한 그 반대의 경우도 여기에 해당한다. 연전 소자는 소자의 영면에 온도 차가 존재할 때 전압이 발생하며 반대로 이 소자에 전압을 가할 경우 온도차가 발생하는 소자이다. 본 논문에서는 물질을 냉각과 가열을 할 수 있게 이러한 현상을 이용하여 열전소자를 사용한 냉 온장 시스템을 소개하였으며 PC와 LabVIEW를 이용하여 냉 온장 시스템을 제어하였다.

  • As the desire for a better condition in classroom increases, the distribution rate of warming and cooling conditioners increases. But it is known that according to the way by which the equipments put and are operated the comfortableness felt by persons who are in classroom can make a difference. Therefore, proper equipments in accordance with the size of classroom should be considered as well as operational methods when ceiling warming and cooling conditioners put. This study makes conclusions as follows through a simulation to get improvements in accordance with the size of classroom and to improve the heating performance of ceiling warming and cooling conditioners in classroom.

Pit를 이용한 건물 급기방식의 효용성 평가에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on Effectiveness Assessment of Supply Air System Using Pit in Building)

  • In this study, the flow effect of warming and cooling in the air supply of a pit for air conditioning were evaluated in BS art museum. We simulated the flow temperature for a pit winter and summer seasons using computational fluid dynamics. Consequential, energy saving, energy saving costs and initial payback periods were calculated and the following conclusions were drawn. The warming effect of the winter increased by $18.1^{\circ}C$ and $0.2^{\circ}C/m$ and the cooling effect of the summer decreased by $6.1^{\circ}C$ and dropped to $0.07^{\circ}C/m$. Energy saving appeared to be 19.1 kW in the summer and 54.3 kW in winter. Energy saving costs ranged from 2,567,119 won/year to 5,134,238 won/year and at minimum, initial payback period for initial investment was 3.9 years. As a result, the air supply system using an existing pit without any burden on initial investment costs is believed to contribute to energy saving through warming and cooling of unutilized energy effects.

  • This paper proposes a novel cooling system for hydrogen fuel cell cooling systems by integrating heat pump technology to enhance operational efficiency. The study analyzed the cooling efficiency of the fuel cell cooling system. With the increasing focus on eco-friendly vehicle technologies to address environmental concerns and global warming, the transportation sector, a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, needs technological enhancements for better efficiency. The proposed cooling system was modeled through 1-D simulations. The analysis results of parameters such as thermal balance, temperature, and pressure of each component confirmed the stable operation of the system. By examining variations in the cooling system's flow rate, compressor RPM, and the Coefficient of Performance (COP) based on different refrigerants, initial research was conducted to derive optimal operating conditions and parameter values.

R32 인버터 히트펌프 시스템의 성능향상에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance Improvement of an R32 Inverter Heat Pump System)

  • As global warming in recent years has raised ever more critical concern, refrigerants with high global warming potentials (GWP) are facing the challenge of being phased out. R410A, with a GWP of 2,088, has been widely used in residential air-conditioning and heat pump systems. A potential substitute for R410A is R32, which has a GWP of 675. The present study presents experimental results of an inverter heat pump system that uses R32 as an alternative refrigerant to R410A. Drop-in tests with R32 indicated that the energy efficiency ratio of the system increased by 5.3% in cooling standard mode, and by 4.2% in heating standard mode at the same capacity; and that the cooling and heating capacity increased by about 12% at the same compressor operating frequency, while the annual performance factor (APF) of the system increased by 5.3%.

  • Recently, as the climate of temperature change has happened worldwide, To solve this problem, Kyoto protocol was taken to regulate global warming on Feb. 2005 and each country is making efforts to prevent global warming. In the automotive industry, R-134a refrigerant is widely used most these days because it has zero ODP(Ozone Depletion Potential). But R-134a GWP(Global Warming Potential) is so high. Therefore, replacement refrigerant desperately is needed as a alternative refrigerant. So, R-l52a is considered as one of the alternative refrigerants due to zero ODP and lower GWP against as required on Europe Committee. In this paper, performance of the air conditioning system between R-134a and R-152a is investigated experimentally. In the bench level, cooling capacity, condensing capacity, COP of automotive air conditioning system are ovaluated by means of air velocity entering the condenser and compressor revolution speed with optimized charge refrigerant quantity. Result of this study, R-152a refrigerant shows the possibility as alternative refrigerant of current R-134a in automotive air conditioning system.

Optimized Digital Proportional Integral Derivative Controller for Heating and Cooling Injection Molding System

  • Proportional integral derivative (PID) control is one of the conventional control strategies. Industrial PID control has many options, tools, and parameters for dealing with the wide spectrum of difficulties and opportunities in manufacturing plants. It has a simple control structure that is easy to understand and relatively easy to tune. Injection mold is warming up to the idea of cycling the tool surface temperature during the molding cycle rather than keeping it constant. This “heating and cooling” process has rapidly gained popularity abroad. However, it has discovered that raising the mold wall temperature above the resin’s glass-transition or crystalline melting temperature during the filling stage is followed by rapid cooling and improved product performance in applications from automotive to packaging to optics. In previous studies, optimization methods were mainly selected on the basis of the subjective experience. Appropriate techniques are necessary to optimize the cooling channels for the injection mold. In this study, a digital signal processor (DSP)-based PID control system is applied to injection molding machines. The main aim of this study is to optimize the control of the proposed structure, including a digital PID control method with a DSP chip in the injection molding machine.

도시화에 의한 야간 대기 냉각율 변화에 관한 연구 (Study on the Variation of Nighttime Cooling Rate Associated with Urbanization)

  • In order to clarify the urbanization intensity of Daegu Metropolitan and its characteristics, comparative study on the variation of the cooling rate of two different sites was carried out using observation data for 40 years by Korea Meteorological Adminstration. Daegu Metropolitan and Chupungnyung represent well urbanized and rural areas, respectively. In comparison with Chupungnyung, yearly mean temperature at Daegu Metropolitan increases rapidly and especially the differences of minimum temperature increasing rate during 40 years becomes greater. These differences of regional warming are caused by the different urbanization intensity between two sites. And the impact of anthropogenic heat due to urbanization should be stronger in nighttime than in daytime. Sensible heat advection by regional wind during 6 hours from 18 LST contributes to atmospheric cooling. For this reason wind speed is in proportion to cooling rate of atmosphere. However, wind after 24 LST induces the warm air advection and makes decrease the cooling rate in urban area. Although the cooling rates between Daegu Metropolitan and Chupungnyung are some different, the variation tendencies of cooling rate of two site are almost same. Therefore atmospheric cooling rate in nighttime tends to be associated with the intensity of wind speed.

일사차단용 설비를 이용한 냉방 에너지 절약 방안 (Cooling Energy Saving System using Solar Heat Protection Dvices)

  • Global warming and heat island make the outdoor air temperature ascend. Tall office buildings are covered with glass window facades as a design aspect and the portion of window area to facade area is increasing. Hence, cooling load for solar radiation passing through glass window is rising. Cooling air to a certain room is supplied equally despite the face of the room in most office buildings. Especially, the west part of the office cannot maintain the required temperature that occupant needs because of the solar heat coming through windows.?In this study, we projected the water spray system to reduce the solar heat transfer and to reflect the solar ray through windows. We perform the experiments to evaluate the performance of the solar heat protection devices. We measured the room temperature of two separated office rooms for solar heat control devices. The investigation's results show that the water spray system is sufficient to the coated glass and the venetian blinds for the decrease of the solar heat inflow.

R452B 냉매 적용 물대물 지열원 히트펌프 유닛의 냉난방 운전 성능 특성 (Heating and Cooling Performance Characteristics of a Water-to-Water Heat Pump with R452B Refrigerant)

  • Refrigerant having high global warming potentials will be phased out due to environmental protection issues. R410A has been widely used in geothermal heat pump. However, it has a little high GWP by 2088 value. One of the recommended substitute for R410A refrigerant is R452B which having a GWP by 698 value. In this paper, the heating and cooling performance of the water-to-water geothermal heat pump unit with R452B was experimentally investigated. The performance of the heat pump adopting R452B was also compared with the system applying R410A. The heating and cooling capacity of R452B heat pump system showed a slightly lower values within 2% comparing with R410A system. However, the R452B system's coefficient of performance was enhanced by 5.2% and 13.7% at heating and cooling mode, respectively.
