The purpose of format conversion is to convert a wide range of personal computer video formats into a target format. Circuits for the conversion have been developed by means of interpolation techniques, such as zero-order interpolation, bilinear interpolation, and bisigmoidal interpolation. This paper proposes a scan converter using cubic splines. The converter was modeled in VHDL on Max+PlusII and implemented with an FPGA chip. The circuit gives much better conversion performance than a scan converter with zero-order or linear interpolation.

In this study, several methods to convert rain rate data for various time intervals to one-minute rates are compared. High-resolution tipping bucket precipitation records for seven locations in a tropical region are analyzed and compared using these conversion models. The Segal, Chebil, and Burgueno methods give the smallest average errors below 10% at different integration times.

Because of demand pattern variability and Product Liability pursuance for products, it is necessary to convert from Product Liability Defence to Product Liability Prevention. For aggravation of company environment, automation, mechanization and FMS are required, to reduce quality cost in this situation, we present the following two alternatives. (1) We solidify the PL policy by process improvement. (2) We set up sensor equipment for defective detection in its early stage.

We can not distinguish semantism of the feature of the current language “big”, “small”, “beautiful”. But we study artificial linguistic interface work and convert natural language to digital binary linguistic theory, we should define the basical conversion process. When we utilize the sum of product fuzzy theory and the visible numerical value, we can establish reasoning rule of input language. Fuzzy theory should be converted to general resulting rule.

In the present paper we shall introduce several operators on the reproducing kernel spaces. And using them we shall find a solution of an infinite system of quadratic equations (1.1). In particular we shall convert problem for finding an approximate solution of infinite system of quadratic equations into problem for minimizing nonnegative biquadratic polynomial.

본 연구는 furfural의 생물학적 분해에 대한 과정을 연구하였다. 토양에서 분리한 Zoogloea.sp는 어떤 효소에 의하여 furfural을 2-furoic acid로 전환시켜 체외에 축적시켰다. 생물학적으로 전환된 2-furoic acid는 ether로 추출하여 U.V. spectrophotometer, HPLC, IR로 물질구조를 규명하였다.

This paper deals with a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach to the design of a PID controller for an attraction type magnetic levitation system. First, we convert the $H_ {\infty}$ PID controller problem into a static output feedback problem. We then solve the static output problem by using the recently developed penalty function method. Numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

We consider the optimization problem of the geostationary satellite orbital positions. which is very fundamental and important in setting up the new satellite launching plan. We convert the problem into a discrete optimization problem. However, the converted problem is too complex to find an optimal solution. Therefore, we develope the solution procedures using simulated annealing technique. The results of applying our method to some examples are reported.

Piezoelectric nanogenerators are energy harvesting device to convert a mechanical energy into an electric energy using nanostructured piezoelectric materials. This review summarizes works to date on piezoelectric nanogenerators, starting with a basic theory of piezoelectricity and working mechanism, and moving through the reports of numerous nanogenerators using nanorod arrays, flexible substrates and alternative materials. A sufficient power generated from nanogenerators suggests feasible applications for either power supplies or strain sensors of highly integratedl nano devices. Further development of nanogenerators holds promise for the development of self-powered implantable and wearable electronics.

In this paper, a novel 2D/3D convertible display system based on integral imaging is proposed. Combining two liquid crystal display panels with integral imaging, it is possible to convert the display between two-dimensional mode and three-dimensional mode without mechanical movement. The proposed method is proven by preliminary experiments.
