  • An Ostrowski type inequality is developed for estimating the deviation of the integral mean of an absolutely continuous function, and the linear combination of its values at k + 1 partition points, on a segment of (real) linear spaces. Several particular cases are provided which recapture some earlier results, along with the results for trapezoidal type inequalities and the classical Ostrowski inequality. Some inequalities are obtained by applying these results for semi-inner products; and some of these inequalities are proven to be sharp.

  • We report the development of an optical micro-nanolithography method by using a roll-type mask. It includes phase-shift lithography and photolithography for realizing various target dimensions. For sub-wavelength resolution, a structure is achieved using the near-field exposure of a photoresist through a cylindrical phase-mask, allowing high-throughput continuous patterning. By using a film-type metal mask, continuous photolithography was achieved, and this method could be used to control the period of resultant patterns in real time by changing the rotating speed of the cylinder mask. As an application, we present the fabrication of a transparent electrode in the form of a metallic mesh by using the developed roll-type photolithography process. As a result, a transparent conductor with good properties was achieved by using a recently built cylindrical phase-shift lithography prototype, which was designed for patterning on 100-mm2 substrates.

Spray Characteristics of a Movable Pintle Injector with Pintle Tip Shape (가변 핀틀 인젝터에서 핀틀 팁 형상에 따른 분무특성 연구)

  • In the development of the liquid rocket engine using the pintle injector, spray characteristics such as spray angle, droplet size, and distribution of the droplets are dominant parameters. Three different kind of multi hole type pintle tip and a continuous type pintle tip were designed. In the case of multi hole pintle tip, SMD result did not have a significant difference depending on the number of holes. In analysis with visualization images, however, the droplets were uniformly distributed as the number of holes increased. Liquid droplets from continuous type pintle tip were finely atomized and dispersed uniformly than those from multi-hole type pintle tip. In addition, the thrust control by adjusting the liquid injection area of the pintle is suitable for the continuous type, which is easier to face-shutoff rather than the multi hole type. The spray angle of each pintle tip according to TMR was measured to derive a specific tendency and corresponding empirical formula.

Development of Continuous Cross-Flow Rice Drying Model (벼의 횡류 연속식 건조 모델 개발)

  • This study was worked out to obtain fundamental data needed for developing a continuous type dryer. The drying process in a cross-flow type continuous dryer was expressed as partial differential equations, and a drying simulation model for predicting rice moisture content, rice temperature, drying air absolute humidity, drying air temperature was developed by using the finite difference method. To validate the performance of the drying simulation model, a prototype continuous dryer was constructed in this study. The size of the test dryer was one-tenth to that of a commercial continuous dryer. The difference in the outlet rice moisture content between the predicted values and the measured values was within 0.5%, that of outlet rice temperature was below $3^{\circ}C$, that of drying air temperature in drying bed was within $8^{\circ}C$ and that of relative humidity of outlet drying air was big because of the different measuring point. In addition, a drying simulation model for a actual size continuous dryer with double flow was developed in this study. This drying simulation model included the rice mixing effect in the middle of drying length. The difference of outlet moisture content between the predicted and the measured values showed below 0.5% in this study.

  • Artificial heart is divided by pulsation flow type and continuous flow type according to blood circulation pattern. Axial flow blood pump is a kind of continuous flow type artificial heart. Axial flow blood pump would be different pump performance according to impeller's shape and rotating velocity. Pump performance be able to compare by flow rate according to differential pressure and Impeller's rotating velocity.   • A systematic design method for PDC(Parallel Distributed Compensation)-type continuous time Takagi-Sugeno(T-S in short) fuzzy control systems which have inaccessible states is developed in this paper. Reduced-dimensional fuzzy state estimator is introduced from existing T-S fuzzy model using the PDC structure of Wang et al. [1] LMI(Linear Matrix Inequalities) problems which represent the stabililty of the reduced-dimensional fuzzy state estimator are derived. Pole placement constraints idea for each rules is adopted to determine the estimator gains and they are also revealed as LMI problems. these LMI problems are combined with Joh et al's [7][8] LMI problems for PDC -type continuous time T-S fuzzy controller design to yield a systematic design method for PDC -type continuous time T-S fuzzy control systems which have inaccessible states.

  • High temperature superconducting (HTS) windings for an HTS transformer which have been developed have two kinds of type, one is the layer winding and the other is disk winding. The layer winding has adopted for an HTS power transformer so far because of the small AC losses of the HTS windings. The disk windings have surface of the HTS wire. We propose a new winding method for a high voltage HTS transformer which has advantages of both type of HTS windings, and we call it continuous disk winding. This new HTS winding consists of pile of HTS disk windings. The continuous disk winding was fabricated with multi-stacked HTS wires for dover HTS transformer. We can check the potential possibility from the characteristic test of the fabricated winding. The new type HTS windings can be applied to HTS power transformers, especially to the high voltage ones.

  • In this paper, a hybrid type fuzzy controller is proposed to maintain molten steel level stable and reliable manner in high speed continuous casting regardless of various disturbances such as casting speed change, tundish weight variation, 치ogging/undoning of SEN(Submerged Entry Nozzle), periodic bulgings, etc. To accomplish this purpose, hardware filter and software filer are carefully designed to eliminate high frequency noise and to smooth input signals from harsh environments. In order to minimize the molten steel level variations from various disturbances the controller uses hybrid type control term: fuzzy logic term, proportional term, differential term and nonlinear feedback compensation tenn. The proposed controller is applied tn commercial mini-mill plant and shows considerable improvement in minimizing the molten steel variation.

Continuous Ethanol Production by Tower Fermentor (탑형 발효기에 의한 에탄올 연속 생산)

  • A cone-type tower fermentor packed with Sacchromyces uvarum was employed to examine the continuous ethanol fermentation process. The maximum yeast concentration in the cone-type tower fermentor was 37.5-39.5g/$\ell$, the maximum ethanol productivity at the dilution rate of $hr^{-1}$ was 16.3g/$\ell$ . hr and the average ethanol yield was 0.48g EtOH/g glucose, which was 94% of the maximum theoretical yield. It was concluded that a cone-type tower fermentor might offer better perspectives for continuous ethanol fermentation.

  • In this paper, we derive necessary optimality conditions for a continuous programming problem in which both objective and constraint functions contain support functions and is, therefore, nondifferentiable. It is shown that under generalized invexity of functionals, Karush-Kuhn-Tucker type optimality conditions for the continuous programming problem are also sufficient. Using these optimality conditions, we construct dual problems of both Wolfe and Mond-Weir types and validate appropriate duality theorems under invexity and generalized invexity. A mixed type dual is also proposed and duality results are validated under generalized invexity. A special case which often occurs in mathematical programming is that in which the support function is the square root of a positive semidefinite quadratic form. Further, it is also pointed out that our results can be considered as dynamic generalizations of those of (static) nonlinear programming with support functions recently incorporated in the literature.
