인터넷 패션 소비자의 예상된 후회와 선택의 어려움이 구매결정연기 및 구매전환의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Internet Fashion Consumer's Anticipated Regret and Selection Difficulty on Decision Making Delay and Purchase Switching Intention)

  • This study analyzed the effects of internet fashion consumer's anticipated regret and the selection difficulty on decision making delay and purchase switching intention. The survey was conducted in 2012 on internet fashion consumers in their 20s to 40s from May 1 to June 30; subsequently, 487 responses were used for the data analysis. The anticipated regret of internet fashion consumers was composed of product, service, social psychology, and function-related anticipated regret. The selection difficulty of internet fashion consumers was composed of process, information, and experience-related selection difficulty. There are significant differences in anticipated regret, selection difficulty, decision making delay, and purchase switching intention by gender. The anticipated regret (product, service, and social psychology-related anticipated regret) and selection difficulty effected decision making delay. In addition, the anticipated regret for product and selection difficulty by process or information influenced purchase switching intention. The results of this study provide useful information on the success and efficient operation of internet shopping malls.

  • This study, as discussed herein, tries to understand how modern commercial buildings occur and develop in certain type of social and cultural conditions. There are many words standing for modern society, of which the most remarkable one is 'commercial society'. Commercial society is where goods are manufactured to one's taste and consumption is a way of communication and a way of discriminating one from the others by using different code. Nowadays, architecture gets more and more popular and becomes commercial object which is intended to the sign of the social meaning. So, the sign of commercial buildings varies according to the social and cultural backgrounds and kitsch is applicable to it. The original meaning of kitsch, which usually is considered an inferior copy of an existing style, is examined and applied to architecture in order for comprehension. Throughout this study, the types of commercial buildings are selected and immanent meaning to the psychology of consumers as applicable to commercial buildings is considered. Also, the trend of kitsch in commercial buildings is analyzed by classifying the image and code of a building's shape. In a conclusion of the study, two major points can be found; commercial building has a significant meaning in terms of design, and commercial building is the conceptual result of a continuous change in the relationship between society and art.

  • Until now, product mostly has revealed physical quantities created by the standpoint of engineers. Consumers, however, perceive and evaluate products on the non-physical characteristics, such as feelings, emotions, and experiences in different social and cultural situations. Especially, for the household appliances fur instance air-conditioner or refrigerator, the sound is heavily related to the satisfaction of a customer who is a real user of the product and is very important factor to decide purchasing as well as visual design. Therefore, in this research, the general tendency of consumer's psychology was investigated for the appliances. And also, in order to obtain clear guidelines for sound manipulation, the characteristics of the sound of air-conditioning systems and refrigerators were compared with others. Since it is important to overcome the discrepancy between engineering and marketing, the relevance of sound manipulation must be documented from the consumer's perspective. That is the reason why we conducted a consumer and marketing oriented study.

Implications of the Family and Consumer Sciences Curriculum in the USA

  • This study examined the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) National Standards with some examples at the state level, analyzed the previous studies relevant to curriculum implementation in the USA, and explored critical success factors in moving toward the new perspective curriculum in exemplary states. The process, in which the FCS discipline struggled to clarify the identity and image as well as to find the mission and vision, produced the FCS National Standards in 1998 and 2008 in the USA. The FCS National Standards were established to fulfill the mission of the FCS based on a critical science perspective. The previous research on a state level implementation indicated that the majority of FCS state administrators agreed that the National Standards positively influenced curriculum development. The critical success factors in integrating National Standards into local programs included the dissemination of thephilosophical works of Marjorie Brown, the foundation of the FCS curriculum with a critical science perspective, the establishment of National Standards corresponding to the philosophical works and a critical science perspective, the openness of state FCS administrators to educational reform, the construction of an infrastructure to support reform, and the commitment by university professors to develop a teacher training program. The critical success factors identified can be employed as an informative guide for the future development and implementation of the Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum in Korea.

  • 밀레니얼 하이 테크 미디어의 개인화된 특성은 기존의 정형화된 크리에이티브 문법을 깨트리고 있다. 파괴적인 하이 테크 미디어의 정보 형태는 소비자의 성향이나 특성에 따라 상이하게 수용된다. 이 연구의 목적은 하이테크 미디어의 효율적인 크리에이티브 전략 수립을 위한 가이드라인을 탐색해 보는데 있다. 소비자의 심리적 성향에서 소비자 혁신성은 하이 테크 미디어의 크리에이티브를 평가하는데 핵심적인 요인이다. 소비자의 혁신성과 하이 테크 미디어의 크리에이티브 유형에 대한 설득 커뮤니케이션 효과를 알아 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 구체적(추상적) 크리에이티브 유형은 혁신성이 낮은 소비자보다 혁신성이 높은 소비자에게 광고에 대한 태도, 브랜드 태도, 구매의도 그리고 구전의도에서 높게 나타났다.

  • Until now, a home appliance mostly has revealed physical quantities created by the standpoint of engineers, by using the A-weighted sound pressure level and the sound power. It is, however, obviously impossible to characterize a complex sound with a single number. Many parameters must be considered. In addition to loudness, we must take into account frequency and amplitude variation over time, spectral balance, tonality, and many other attributes. Thus, in this research, the general tendency of consumer psychology was investigated for the refrigerator's sound. The noise from the refrigerator was evaluated by not only the simple sound pressure levels but also the consumer's sense of hearing. And also, in order to improve the quality of sound through the design change, the consumer's evaluation was analysed and related to the engineering quantities. With the several design changes, finally the most silence refrigerator in the world was developed with considering the consumer's hearing of sense.

Effects of Hotel Experiences on Service Quality, Satisfaction and Consumer-Brand Relationship

  • Purpose: The study tried to make a comparison between local and global brand hotels with respect to the relationships among customer experiences, service quality, customer satisfaction and consumer-brand relationship. This study provided strategic implications according to its results. Research design, data and methodology: To this end, this study collected data from 300 participants who have stayed at local and global brand hotels in Seoul. SAS 9.4 was used for data analysis. Results: The results showed that experiential modules ('sense' module and 'feel-think-act') affected service quality (human service, physical service) in local brand hotels. But 'feel-think-act', one of experiential modules, only affected service quality in global brand hotels. Also, physical service only had strong effects on customer satisfaction with both local and global brand hotels. Finally, customer satisfaction was influenced by consumer-brand relationships for two hotel groups. But there were no statistically significant differences in all estimations between local and global brand hotels. Conclusions: In conclusion, the study provided some strategic implications that experiential marketing in hotel industry needs be practiced maintain the competitive advantage and sustain branding power and will result in stronger consumer-brand relationships in local and global brand hotels.

Marketing for Real and Virtual Museums: A marketing Model to Explain Visitor Behavior in Real Museums and an Outlook on its Applicability to Virtual Museums

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain more insight into the explanation and prognosis of consumer behavior in real and virtual museums. The analysis focuses on the influence of the museum environment on the museum patrons (rather than on the influence of the art objects). On the basis of the emotional approach to environmental psychology by Mehrabian and Russell (1974), a behavior model has been developed for museums. The model, which is based on the emotional variables pleasure, arousal and dominance (PAD), is also enhanced by cognitive variabies (learning attractiveness, education standard and information demand). The enhancement of the classical model was necessary because cognitive variables play a major role in cultural institutions such as museums: One important objective of museums is the communication of cultural knowledge to visitors. The model is tested empirically using structural equation modeling. 301 visitors were interviewed individually. Two different museum environments were represented using visual stimuli. The theoretical model for museums can be proved empirically. The degree to which the model fits the empirical data was extensively tested. The model showed high compatibility with the data and could be accepted. The study proves that a model can be developed, which explains visitor behavior in museums. The model shows museum designers how museums should be designed to be both emotionally appealing and a learning environment. Based on empirical studies in virtual stores on the Internet, it is discussed whether the research findings in these environments may be applied to virtual museum environments. In order to create an emotionally appealing virtual museum, it is recommended that one uses a 3-dimensional representation to offer various possibilities for interaction and to create a multi-sensual environment that appears highly realistic.

온라인 소비자의 불확실성 회피성향이 구매연기의도에 미치는 영향 : 소비가치의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Uncertainty Avoidance on Purchase Deferral Intention in Online Shopping : The Moderating Effect of Consumption Values)

  • 본 연구는 제품정보가 넘치는 온라인 쇼핑에서 소비자의 불확실성 회피성향이 구매연기행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이 과정에서 실용적/쾌락적 소비가치가 조절효과를 갖는지 알아보았다. 20-30대 남녀 205명을 대상으로 고관여 탐색재인 노트북에 대해 6개의 가상브랜드 구매상황 시나리오를 제시하고 구매연기의도를 분석한 결과, 불확실성 회피성향이 높을수록 구매연기의도가 높고, 실용적 소비가치는 이들 간의 관계에서 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 쾌락적 소비가치는 불확실성 회피성향과 구매연기의도 사이에 조절효과가 없었다. 본 연구의 결과는 온라인 쇼핑과 같이 제품정보가 과부하되는 상황에서 소비자는 불확실성을 느낄수록 구매를 연기하려하므로, 제품에 관한 정보를 무조건 많이 제공할 것이 아니라 불확실성을 감소시킬 수 있는 정보제시 전략이 필요하며, 특히 실용적/쾌락적 소비가치의 차별적 효과를 고려하여 제품관련 정보를 구성해야 함을 시사해 준다.

  • 분석하여 화장품 포장 디자인에 사용된 컬래버레이션 사례를 연구, 특히 쿠션화장품 중 캐릭터 이미지와 컬래버레이션 하여 화장품 디자인에 사용된 사례를 분석하였다. 화장품 디자인 컬래버레이션 연구를 통해 제품 가치와 브랜드 이미지를 제고시키고, 소비자에게 새롭고 개성 있는 제품을 제공하여 젊은층 소비자 그룹을 타겟팅, 유치하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 향후 화장품 포장 디자인을 하는데 참고할 만한 내용을 제공하리라 기대한다.
