  • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are a group of industrial aromatic organobromine chemicals that have been used since the 1970s as flame retardants in a wide range of consumer products and articles, including plastics, computers, textiles and upholstery. Commercial PBDEs were added to Annex A of the Stockholm Convention as persistent organic pollutants in May 2009. PBDEs are still frequently found in sludge and effluent from wastewater treatment plants, even though commercial PBDEs were prohibited or voluntarily phased out several years ago. Conventional wastewater treatment processes are not designed to effectively remove PBDEs. This indicates that there is an urgent need for new developments and improvements to enhance upon the treatment techniques which are currently available. Several studies have suggested the potential removal and degradation technologies for PBDEs in wastewater. In this study, the concentrations and compositional profiles of PBDE congeners in sludge and effluent are investigated by analyzing the relevant literature data in relation to their usage patterns in commercial products in North America and South Korea. The strengths and weaknesses of the current PBDEs removal techniques (i.e., biodegradation, zero-valent iron, photolysis, sorption, etc.) are discussed critically. In addition, future research direction regarding the treatment and removal of PBDEs from wastewater is also suggested, based on the literature review.

게욱 첨가 설기떡의 품질특성 및 관능적 특성 연구 (Study on Quality and Sensory Characteristics of Seolgi Ttueok Added with Geuk)

  • In this study, Seolgi Tteok was made in order to increase consumption of Geuk, which possesses numerous nutritional advantages, and its optimum content as a new food coloring for rice cake was determined. Quality characteristics and quantitative description analysis (QDA) of Seolgi Tteok, in which Geuk was added at 0, 4, 8, and 12%, was conducted. Consumer acceptability test was also conducted. As the amount of added Geuk increased, moisture content of Seolgi Tteok increased as well. Brightness (L-value) was the highest in the control group, and more Geuk resulted in higher values of red index (a-value) and yellow index (b-value), which corresponded to the results of the sensory evaluation. As result of the mechanical texture measurement, only adhesiveness and resilience show a significant difference. As a result of the QDA, 17 sensory characteristic terms were assessed. Among them, only 13 showed a significant difference. Among the different sensory characteristics, almost all of them except for taste characteristics were significantly influenced by the amount of Geuk. The aroma and taste of Geuk were not largely influenced. It can be suggested that Geuk is not a factor that strongly influences flavor. In conclusion, Geuk does not have a strong influence on the taste or aroma of Seolgi Tteok but does on color characteristics. It can be suggested that Geuk is qualified as a coloring material for food, and the reasonable addition amount is 8%. As a result of this research, Geuk can be considered as a coloring material for other types of rice cake, traditional Korean sweets, and even confectioneries as well as for Seolgi Tteok. This implies that Geuk can be utilized to develop various new products as a coloring material with abundant nutritional content, which will contribute to the promotion of Geuk consumption.

기성복의 최적 사이즈 시스템 개발을 위한 연구 - 학령기 여아를 중심으로 - (A Study on Developing the Optimal Sizing System for Ready-to-wear - Based on Elementary School Girls -)

  • The propose of this study is to develop the optimal sizing system of ready-to-wear f3r elementary school girls using a newly invented statistical technique. The body measurements was classified by the method that equalizes the distribution of the subjects using the probability density function, to theoretically systemize a method to determine a size range of ready-to-wear for elementary school girls between 6 to 12 years old. The statistical method were 1) The total of 11 height groups, which size interval from one another is 6 cm that is an average height gap between each age. 2) In order to determine an approximate figure (m ${\times}$ n) to establish the appropriate sizes far each height group that fit to the combinations of bust and hip girth, which based on their means and standard deviations on the probability density curve to produce the standard normal distribution. 3) m and n were aligned by 4cm -the grading increments used for patterns making- and determined the size ranges by confirming the approximate figures of m and n. 4) The representative values were determined by an area ratio calculated by dividing the area determined from the range of bust and hip girth with the representative value. Considering the characteristics of subjects' distribution, the area ratios was used. 5) Weight was calculated by seeking a growth exponent for each age and multiplying it by the number of girls that fit to each size range. As sections that show the highest weight are more likely sought by the consumers, these sections were determined as the optimal size standards. 6) This optimal sizing system consists of sizes determined by the optimal size standards and its sizes are marked with height, bust and hip girth.

인터넷 쇼핑에서의 플로우 경험과 실용적 가치 지각이 패션상품 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Flow Experience and Perceived Utilitarian Value of Internet Shopping on Purchase Intention of the Fashion Merchandise)

  • This study recognizes that individual's experience is important in change over Internet fashion consumers to Internet users, and find out fashion consumer's flow experience in Internet shopping of the fashion merchandise. Also, the purpose of this study is to analyze whether flow experience and perceived utilitarian value have an effect on Internet purchase intention of the fashion merchandise. To fulfill this objectives, a survey was conducted out from June 20 to July 30 in 2005, and an subject of study was married women aged from 20s to 30s in purchase experience of the fashion merchandise to Internet shopping malls. Data collected over the Internet, and analyzed the 306 subjects. The statistical analysis methods was frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis. 3 hypotheses were accepted, the result of this study were as follows: First, a married women aged from 20s to 30s in purchase experience of the fashion merchandise to Internet shopping malls were skilled Internet enough to regarding Internet shopping as an easy thing, and was challenged in Internet activity. Their Internet skills, challenges and interaction had an effect on flow experience and perceived utilitarian value. Therefore, the more Internet skills, challenges. and interaction were higher, the more flow and utilitarian value about Internet shopping was higher. Second, a married women aged from 20s to 30s were high-purchased group of the fashion merchandise to Internet shopping malls, and had a repurchase intention in Internet shopping mall within the purchase experience of the fashion merchandise. Their flow experience and perceived utilitarian value had an effect on Internet purchase intention of the fashion merchandise. Therefore, the more flow experience and perceived utilitarian value were higher, the more Internet purchase intention of the fashion merchandise was higher.

액티브 시니어 남성(55~69세) 체형 분석 -중년 남성(35~54세)과 체형 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Analysis of Body Types of Active Senior Males (aged 55-69) -Focused on the Comparison with the Middle Aged Males (aged 35-54)-)

  • This study was conducted to offer basic data that can be used in a clothing industry for active senior males that are emerging as a new consumer bracket in a rapid aging age. To this end, this study conducted an analysis of 'younger' older male body types based on data from the 6th Size Korea. As a result of the body type analysis of 'younger' older males who are considered active seniors in comparison to 'middle' aged males, the former's height items became shorter compared to 'middle' aged males, but circumference items were bigger. Males aged 35-69, who are 'middle' aged males and 'younger' old males were divided into three body types in this study: Type1- small body type with protruded belly, compared to weight. Type 2- body type of slim torso with wide shoulder-back widths. Type3- big body type overall with tall height and heavy weight. According to body type distribution by age group, the middle-aged males had Type2 body type the most. The younger-old males showed type1 the most. There is a need to reflect the body types of active senior male characteristics in apparel pattern design because the current fits are not appropriate if active senior males wear clothing targeted for males aged 30-50.

  • Entering the 21st century, the primary influence leading world economy have been shifting. U.S. economy has seemed to slow down, Japan and EU are also in same situation. But China have started to lead Asia economy and expended to the World. According to Goldman Sachs Group, "The 21st century will be a era of Brics because of their enormous territory, a large population and abundant natural resources." We have to more focus on China because China have directly effect on Korean market and have a great potential market opportunity for our industries. However, this report mentioned above didn't carefully deal with a field of information and technology(from here IT), Digital contents consumption wasn't mentioned at all. Now Digital Contents (from here 'DC') emerge as new value creator and actually Korea has been a dominant in IT industries and is leading Digital contents market in China. This phenomenon is called as 'Korean wave (Han-Ryu)'. Many researchers have studied about 'Korean wave(Han-Ryu)' focusing on the economic effect but Korean DC industries need to build specifical strategies for exporting Korean DC to China market. Therefore, purpose of this study is following : Firstly, to analyze environment of DC in China and competitive advantages of it. Secondly, to compare ICAI (Industrial Comparative Advantage Index) according to a kind of DC. Finally, to make an analysis of China consumer's attitude to DC. This study will give much implication for Korean DC industries to enter China market.

여성적 감성을 반영한 제품디자인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Woman Oriented Sensibility in Product Design)

  • 여성의 사회적 참여와 경제적 지위가 높아지면서 소비 주체이자 유행을 선도하는 트렌드 창조자로서 '여성'이 부상하고 있다. 즉, 이제는 '여성'을 제품개발의 한 축으로 인식하고, 여성적 감성을 담아 낼 수 있는 제품 개발과 전략이 필요한 시점이다. 본 연구에서는 최근 디지털 제품을 중심으로 부각되고 있는 '여성성'을 사회$\cdot$문화적$\cdot$경제$\cdot$마케팅적 측면에서 그 배경을 살펴보고, 개발사례를 중심으로 여성적 디자인의 특징을 분석하였다. 또한 실제 제품개발과 연계하여 여성소비자의 소비성향 및 라이프스타일, 선호 제품스타일 등을 분석하였으며, 이를 반영하여 여성층을 겨냥한 감성오디오를 개발하였다. 궁극적으로 여성 지향적 제품개발의 필요성을 제기하고, 여성적 감성을 반영하기 위한 제품디자인 방향에 대하여 연구하였다.

삼점검사 및 척도묘사분석을 이용한 국내산 및 수입산 목심의 관능적 품질특성 (Sensory Characteristics of Domestic and Imported Pork Butts by Triangle Test and Descriptive Analysis)

  • 국내 시장에 유통중인 국내 및 수입산 냉장ㆍ냉동 목심의 관능적 품질 특성을 조사하기 위하여 총 6종의 수입산 및 국내산 냉장ㆍ냉동 목심을 구입하여 연령 및 성별로 구분된 60명의 관능검사요원을 대상으로 조사ㆍ분석하였다. 제품의 외관평가 조사결과, 소비자들은 지방색 및 지방부착도에서 높은 선호 경향을 나타낸 국내산 냉동 목심 A를 가장 선호하는 것으로 조사되었다(p<0.001). 척도 묘사 분석법을 이용하여 분석한 연령별 기호도 조사에 의하면 젊은 층인 20대의 소비자들은 국내산 냉장 목심 A를 30대와 40대의 소비자들은 북미산 냉동 목심 A를 가장 선호하였다. 삼점검사법을 이용한 외관 및 조리육의 식별 특성 조사에 있어서는 국내산 냉동 목심 B와 북미산 냉동 목심 A의 조합에서 가장 높은 식별강도를 나타내었다(p<0.001).

휴대전화 이용자 자아이미지가 벨소리와 통화연결음 선택에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cellular Phone User's Self Image to select Ring-Tone and Ring-Back-Tone)

  • 벨소리와 통화연결음 시장의 확대에 주목하여 음원소비가 감상용 음원에서 꾸미기용 음원으로의 활용 확대되는 시점에서 발신자와 수신자가 음원에 대하여 브랜드개성으로 인식하는지, 자아표현이 어떠한 방식으로 이루어 질 것인가에 관한 연구이다. 대학생 196명을 대상으로 본인의 자아이미지와 본인이 선택 혹은 선택 예정인 벨소리와 통화연결음이 일치하는지에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 표본을 대상으로 SPSS 19.0 통계패키지를 사용하여 대응표본 t테스트를 실시한 결과 자아이미지의 요인으로 도출된 내향성, 외향성과 벨소리, 통화연결음의 요인으로 도출된 내향성과 외향성의 관계가 서로 불일치하였다. 즉 내향성을 가진 소비자는 외향적인 음원을, 외향적인 소비자는 내향적인 음원을 선택하고 있었다. 휴대전화 발신자는 벨소리와 통화연결음 등 음원을 선택함에 있어 본인이 아닌 상대방을 염두에 두어 본인의 자아이미지와 상반되는 브랜드개성을 가진 음원을 선택하는 즉 과시적 소비성향을 보여주고 있다.

비타민나무 잎 첨가 현미설기떡 제조 및 항산화 활성 (Antioxidative Activity of Sea Buckthorn and Quality Characteristics of Brown Rice Sulgidduk)

  • This study was performed to investigate the antioxidative properties of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.; leaf, fruit and stem) and the quality characteristics of brown rice sulgidduk prepared using a powder of sea buckthorn leaves. First, the antioxidative activities of sea buckthorn were measured to choose the most effective part of this plant. By analyzing the measured values, we concluded that the effective part of sea buckthorn was its leaves. The $IC_{50}$ value of the DPPH radical scavenging activity and the ABTS radical scavenging activity in sea buckthorn leaves were $7.78{\mu}g/mL$ and $264.04{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The total polyphenol and total flavonoid contents of sea buckthorn leaves were 3.80 mg/mL and .19 mg/mL, respectively. Therefore, the brown rice sulgidduk was prepared using a powder of sea buckthorn leaves in the weight ratio of 0%, .5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0% and 2.5%. For analyzing the quality characteristics of the prepared sulgidduk, proximate compositions, color and texture profiles were measured and a sensory evaluation was conducted. With an increase in the added content of the sea buckthorn leaf powder (SBLP), the L-value significantly decreased while the a-value and the b-value increased. In the case of texture profiles, the control group (control A) had a higher score for hardness than the case groups in which the SBLP was added. However, springiness, chewiness and adhesiveness were not significantly different among the groups. In the sensory evaluation, the sample containing 1.5% SBLP yielded the best results. Therefore, we suggest that the powder of sea buckthorn leaves is a good ingredient for increasing the consumer acceptability and functionality of sulgidduk.
