  • For a more convenient deduction of the weighted values in AHP of BSC using a spread sheet program, this study derived each weighted values through single and group calculations and it also compared the two calculations to verify mutual identities. Pairwise comparison is generally used in measuring performance of corporations or government organizations, but, many researches have been done without reliability verification due to difficulty in the deduction of weighted value. This trend, like using a wrong measurement, result in defective result of BSC. Therefore, this study presents various methods of single and group case measurement using spread sheet so that it can be utilized in practice. Thus, I expect this study's result be availed in BSC consulting or research of public organizations that have difficulty in measuring qualitative factors.

  • It is an important task to give adequate nutritions to infants and to wean properly for rapid growth. This study was conducted to survey on doing the weaning activities of the first-time mother. This study was to provide basic data of health teaching and nursing intervention for the promotion of ideal weaning activities. Survey was done from January to February in 2001. Total 444 mothers who have first-time baby under twelve month old were interviewed in five community health center around contry (Seoul, Choung-ju, Asan, Cheon-an, Jeju). The results are summarized as follows; Starting time of weaning was common in four month old(40.4%). Most common daily weaning times by age showed once(under 3 months), twice(4 to 7 months), three times(8 to 12 months). The younger, the more commercial weaning products(p<0.01). Education level showed relatively positive relation with home-made weaning food(p<0.05). Items showed low scores in 4 to 7 months group were starting new food item, waiting at least one week interval to new food, feeding by milk bottle, allowing grasping spoon, consulting pediatrician for problems after weaning, starting from morning, regular schedule. Items showed low scores in 8 to 12 months group were feeding whole egg rather than yolk only up to 12 months, keeping weaning interval were increased, feeding by milk bottle, trying various cooking method, not giving commerical cooking and instant food and unproper raw milk feeding. In weaning activities by general factors, mother age, health status, marriage duration, monthly income were statistically significant (p<0.05). To improve good weening activities, targetting on low maternal age and poor health status, and low income group, developing teaching materials and training program for items showed low scores and proper weaning time, type of easy home-made food and easy cooking method should be provided. • In this study, a sensitivity analysis was carried out by using numerical analysis under the consideration that it is difficult to analyze the behavior of real piled raft foundations on different ground conditions through a real scale test. The program used for numerical analysis is FLAC 3D based on the finite difference method. Piles were modelled by using pile element that is one of the structure elements of FLAC 3D and the ground and raft were modelled by using continuum element. With a fixed pile arrangement of $3{\times}3$, the diameter, length, space of piles, and ground conditions were selected as sensitivity parameters and their mutual correlation were investigated. As a result, the bigger and longer pile diameter, length and pile space are, the bigger the bearing capacity of the piled raft becomes. When pile space exceeded a specific value, however, the piled raft foundation behaved like a shallow foundation supported by only a raft. Also it can be confirmed that the better ground conditions are, the more total bearing capacity of the piled raft foundation increases.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a practical class design model that applies the problem-based learning (PBL) method to the subject of home economics. To begin with, a specific class model example was developed by conducting thorough document research and expert consulting. Two modules, named "Click! Global Leisure Environment" and "Happy Leisure Product Launching" were presented as the PBL questions. The case study focused upon in this research is an elective course called "Leisure Culture and Life Management". The 21 students enrolled in this course were considered in this study. Two teaching methods, namely a face-to-face teaching method and a web-based system "Snowboard" teaching method, were used to run the class. The research results are as follows: first, theoretical research and program development and demonstration were practiced with five different age groups: childhood, adolescence, university student, middle age, and senescence. Then, selfevaluation, peer evaluation, and group evaluation were conducted to motivate the students. Finally, a class evaluation was conducted by questioning the lecturer, who ranked well, scoring higher than or equal to 4.0 points out of 5.0 on all the questions. Through the PBL method, students showed an improved study attitude with more proactive participation in the class, they strengthened their communication skills and created a synergy with their team members. This study has significant meaning because it is the first research to apply the PBL method to home economics. Therefore, we expect other curricula to apply PBL and fully utilize this teaching method as well in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the variables that affect the problem behavior of children and to examine the relationships between problem behavior of young children in relation to the child's characteristics(temperament and ego-resiliency), the mother's characteristics(parenting stress and personality characteristics), and the teacher's characteristics(teacher-child relationship and emotional expressiveness). The researcher surveyed 314 parents and 56 teachers of young children in the transitional period from 32 early childhood institutes in Daejeon. The summaries of the results of the study are as seen below. First, the child's gender and mother's education were statistically significant variables in explaining the variance in problem behavior of young children. More boys than girls showed more problem behaviors and children of mothers who graduated university showed less problem behavior. Second, teacher-child relationship was the most predictive variable in problem behavior of young children. Children who had good relationships with their teachers showed less problem behavior and children who had poor relationships with their teachers showed more problem behavior. The results of this study can provide basic data for consulting and developing program to prevent and treat the problem behavior of young children to consider the development of children.
