A Study on the Difficult Factor of New Technology Development from a Construction Engineering Firm Perspective (건설엔지니어링 기업 측면에서의 신기술 개발의 애로요인 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The development and utilization performance of the construction new technology was introduced in 2014 according to the detailed evaluation criteria of the construction project of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. In the case of the construction new technology, the current standard is give 3 points in the "technology development and investment performance" evaluation item. However, construction engineering companies is difficult for to invest the capital required for new technology development. Therefore, in this study, we try to extract the difficult factor that occur in the process of construction new technology development in terms of construction engineering companies. The research results are expected to provide with the support policy guideline for new technology development costs to policy makers.

  • As the construction technology is rapidly advancing internationally, the necessity of virtual construction technology development is drastically demanded in the construction industry together with a fusion technology with information technology(IT). The construction technology will be changed as the paradigm of construction technology in the future. The establishment of building structural system in the virtual construction basis is necessary for the integration of construction process, and it will be expected to produce the effect of reduction of construction period and quality improvement through the environment of integration. This study is to present the analysis of the existing process of structural design, the content of research & development as per the building structural system on virtual construction basis and the direction of research.

  • This study presents the development of pointcloud data integration technology in construction sites via drone photogrammetry and MMS LiDAR. The integration of pointcloud data from drones and MMS technology can provide precise and accurate 3D digital maps of construction sites, which can benefit the development of smart construction and BIM. The advantages of using both drones and MMS technology for pointcloud data acquisition in construction sites are discussed, along with the limitations and challenges of using drone photogrammetry and MMS LiDAR for pointcloud data integration. The results of this study can contribute to the advancement of pointcloud data integration technology in construction sites and improve the efficiency and accuracy of construction projects.

  • After the outbreak of COVID-19, the construction industry, which has more contact between workers than other industries, needs to improve its environment through the technology development for automation of construction projects. This study conducted 5-point scale surveys of 39 candidate technologies on 54 workers in construction- related industries to derive priorities for technology development to improve the construction environment. The result of this survey shows the top 10 candidate technology priorities, and this analysis can be used as basic data for setting the direction for future construction development.

  • Importance of rights acquisition regarding intellectual property rights is coming in the world to the front along this international, effort between enterprises is keen. A security of source technology is serious for domestic overseas market excavation of constructive enterprises, and national technology development effort for this is necessary. Domestic constructive technology development is trend continuously increasing every year, and be especially looking after PQ system introduction this.   • Recently IT industry has its eyes on IT Converged Technology as its future growth engine. Now, local governments are busy with planning U-City Constructions to improve their competitiveness. While this shows the ripple effect of U-City Constructions, the related standards or laws don't still seem to be established. The existing Construction Criteria which comprehends only construction could not apply to U-City development. Therefore Construction-Information Converged Technology Criteria should be needed. And fundamental research of Criteria should be preceded. The objective of this research is to develop Structure of Construction-Information Converged Technology Criteria on U-City. The new comprehensive Criteria for Construction-Information Converged Technology would be fundamentally basic standard for U-city development. Thereafter local governments, the main body of the projects, could use Construction-Information Converged Technology Criteria so that there must be lest trial and error to Construction U-City Project.

  • Underground construction requires long construction duration and a variety of equipment, and environmental management and improvement of its activities are considered necessary. For the purpose of the environmental improvement of underground construction activities, the appropriate development of technologies to reduce generated pollutants is mandatory. However, the analysis of the needs of technology development and the evaluation of development priorities should take precedence. In this research, the needs for the improvement of each construction activity are analyzed as a preliminary study for a proposed technology development plan to improve the environmental performance of underground construction. Firstly, environmental problem factors caused by underground construction activities are determined while underground construction types, methods, and activities are classified. A questionnaire survey to determine the needs for the improvement of each activity is then carried out. The survey indicated that the most urgent activity to be improved is that of cutting excavation, which causes environmental problems associated with flying dust. This study could be used as a basis for a technology development plan for the environmental improvement of underground construction activities. The result of this study, the priority of improvement needs, contributes to the effective allocation of a limited Research and Development (R&D) budget.

  • One of the main issues of government is the development of local areas which have been neglected while major capital was invested on Seoul and its satellite cities. Korean Ministry of Construction and Highway and other government departments are currently working together (or the balanced development of the local areas. Localization which is the balanced development of the Capital and local areas, can be achieved through the balanced development of local industry and technology. It is required to have a strategic approach to the construction technology improvement that is localized and eventually contributes the localization efforts. Construction technology that is associated with the local characteristics is the key factor of the balanced national development. This study includes defining the 'localization' through the investigation of national and international localization examples. Construction technology that reflects the local characteristics is studied in this paper. Local characteristics are identified by (1) surveying 'construction technology demand'; (2) measuring construction technology capability, and (3) studying on government regulation changes. 1'he results provide the fundamental Information for the development of the local construction technology.

  • The domestic construction industry need to do productivity improvement through technology development than improvement of manpower control or system and develop competitive power through technology in international construction market. Upon this, government for elevation of technological level enacts and operates the advanced construction technology endorsement system but is not looking at effect as that the actual use-results also expected first. Therefore, in this paper, present improvement and direction for activation plan of construction new technology development through comparison with other connection system, literature investigation and questionnaire after grasp present condition of the advanced construction technology endorsement system with specialty construction company as the central figure which occupy most of appointed new technology.

  • In this paper, the method how to build up technological strength in the domestic construction industry competing with foreign foremost construction firms is provided. Each construction company should make individual research and development continuously, and technologies made by the research and development should be applied widely to real construction projects, therefore, the technological strength can be made. To accelerate the research and development each construction company should consider primary factors, e.g. organization structure, special personnel and strategic plan related to technology, and operation system for the research and development.
