자동변속기의 과도특성 분석을 위한 토크 컨버터의 변동 파라미터 성능 모델 개발 (Development of the Variable Parametric Performance Model of Torque Converter for the Analysis of the Transient Characteristics of Automatic Transmission)

  • To enhance the acceleration performance and fuel consumption rate of a vehicle, the torque converter is modified or newly-developed with reliable analysis model. Up to recently, the one dimensional performance model has been used for the analysis and design of torque converter. The model is described with constant parameters based on the concept of mean flow path. When it is used in practice, some experiential correction factors are needed to minimize tole estimated error. These factors have poor physical meaning and cannot be applied confidently to the other specification of torque converter. In this study, the detail dynamic model of torque converter is presented to establish the physical meaning of correction factors. To verify the validity of model, performance test was carried out with various input speed and oil temperature. The effect of oil temperature on the performance is analysed, and it is applied to the dynamic model. And, to obtain the internal flow pattern of torque converter, CFD(Computational Fluid Dyanmics) analysis is carried out on three-dimensional turbulent flow. Correction factors are determined from the internal flow pattern, and their variation is presented with the speed ratio of torque converter. Finally, the sensitivity of correction factors to the speed ratio is studied for the case of changing capacity factor with maintaining torque ratio.

시각적 자극 속도에 대한 농구패스 유형이 예측 타이밍 수행에 미치는 융합적 효과 (The Convergence Effects of Visual Stimulus Velocity and Basketball Pass Types on Anticipation Timing Performance)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 리시버의 움직임을 모사한 불빛자극의 이동속도와 농구 패스 유형에 따라 예측 타이밍 수행에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 있다. 실험을 위해 10명의 대학생에게 세 가지 이동속도를 무선으로 제시한 후 불빛자극이 목표지점에 도착하는 시점과 일치되게 체스트 패스와 바운드 패스를 수행하도록 하였다. 실험과제는 패스 유형별로 각 속도조건 당 4회씩 수행하여 총 24회가 무선으로 제시되었으며, 매 시행마다 항상오차, 절대오차 그리고 가변오차를 측정하였다. 그 결과, 세 가지 시간오차는 가속조건일수록 크게 나타났으며 체스트패스가 바운드패스에 비해 타이밍의 정확성이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과들을 통해 자극의 이동속도와 농구패스의 유형이 패스의 예측 타이밍 수행에 영향을 미치는 주요 변인임을 확인하였다.

충격하중에 의해 크랙 주위에 형성되는 응력장에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis of Stress Field around Crack Tip under Impact Load)

  • To investigate the effect of stress wave propagation for crack tip, impact responses of two-dimensional plates with oblique cracks are investigated by a numerical method. In the numerical analysis, the finite element method is used in space domain discretization and the Newmark constant acceleration algorithm is used in time integration. According to the numerical results from the impact response analysis. it is found that the stress fields are bisected at the crack surface and the parts of stress intensity are moved along the crack face. The crack tip stress fields are yaried rapidly. The magnitude of crack tip stress fields are converted to dynamic stress intensity factor. Dynamic sress intensity factor appears when the stress wave has reached at the crack tip and the aspect of change of dynamic stress intensity factor is shown to be the same as the part of the flow of stress intensity.

레일신축이음 설치된 장대레일 적용 연속교의 구조물-궤도 상호작용에 의한 온도하중이 교량 받침에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Bridge Bearings by Structure-Track Interaction for Continuous Bridge applied CWR with Rail Expansion Joint under Temperature Load)

  • The additional axial force of CWR(continuous welded rail) is occurred by structure-track interaction, in reverse, fixed supports of structure are applied the large load by that. Ratio of load which transferred on support through the bridge superstructure with one-side REJ by acceleration and braking load are stated in High-Speed Rail Design Criteria(2005). On the other hand the horizontal forces of support delivered to the load due to thermal loads has been no report about the criteria. Therefore, this study was performed the review of the reaction and displacement on support by structure-track interaction in a special bridge(composite brdiges, 45+55+55+45=200m) with REJ acting on the temperature load. As a result, because fixed support of a special bridge or a continuous bridge with REJ under the temperature load which is constant load has been acted the large lateral load by structure-track interaction, when determining the fixed bearing capacity of structure should be reflected in the results to secure the safety of structures was confirmed.

전기이중층커패시터의 가속열화시험 (An Accelerated Degradation Test of Electric Double-Layer Capacitors)

  • An electric double-layer capacitor(EDLC) is an electrochemical capacitor with relatively high energy density, typically hundreds of times greater than conventional electrolytic capacitors. EDLCs are widely used for energy storage rather than as general-purpose circuit components. They have a variety of commercial applications, notably in energy smoothing and momentary-load devices, and energy-storage and kinetic energy recovery system devices used in vehicles, etc. This paper presents an accelerated degradation test of an EDLC with rated voltage 2.7V, capacitance 100F, and usage temperature $-40^{\circ}C{\sim}65^{\circ}C$. The EDLCs are tested at $50^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, and $70^{\circ}C$, respectively for 1,750hours, and their capacitances are measured at predetermined times by constant current discharge method. The failure times are predicted from their capacitance deterioration patterns, where the failure is defined as 30% capacitance decrease from the initial one. It is assumed that the lifetime distribution of EDLC follows Weibull and Arrhenius life-stress relationship holds. The life-stress relationship, acceleration factor, and $B_{10}$ life at design condition are estimated by analyzing the accelerated life test data.

굽은 관에서의 연소폭발천이 현상 모델링 (Numerical simulation of deflagration to detonation transition in bent tube)

  • 본 연구는 에틸렌-공기 혼합물로 채워져 있는 굽은 관에서의 충격파와 화염의 상호 작용, 화염 가속, 연소폭발천이 현상을 수치적으로 살펴보았다. 여기서 사용되는 모델은 지배방정식으로 Navier-Stokes 방정식과 경계조건 처리 방법으로 ghost fluid 기법을 사용하였다. 굽은 관에서 여러 충격파 강도를 이용한 모델링을 통하여 화염과 강한 충격파의 충돌에 의한 열점 생성과 화염 전파의 가속 현상을 확인하였으며 추가적으로 평균 화학적 열 발생률이 대략 20 MJ/($g{\cdot}s$)이 되는 지점에서 최초 폭굉이 발생한다는 것을 확인하였다. 즉, 우리는 복잡한 형상에 의한 효과를 포함하는 수치적 계산 결과를 기반으로 관에서의 강한 충격파, 충격파와 화염의 상호 작용, 열점, 연소폭발천이 현상 등의 발생을 확인하였다.

달리기 중 신발 중저의 경도가 인체를 따라 흡수되는 충격에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the Midsole Hardness on Shock Absorption along the Human Body during Running)

  • During running, the human body experiences repeated impact force between the foot and the ground. The impact force is highly associated with injury of the lower extremity, comfort and running performance. Therefore, shoemakers have developed shoes with various midsole properties to prevent the injury of lower extremity, improve the comfort and enhance the running performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate influence of midsole hardness on shock absorption along the human body during running. Thirty two expert runners consented to participate in the study and ran at a constant speed with three different pairs of shoes with soft, medium and hard midsole respectively. Using accelerometers we measured the shock absorption from shoe heel to cervical vertebral column. In conclusion, at the shoe heel, shock was the greatest with the hard midsole. However because most shock was absorbed between shoe heel and the knee, notable influence of midsole was not detected upper knee. At shoe heel, regardless of midsole hardness, the shock of younger female was the greatest. The authors expect to apply this result for providing a guideline for utilizing proper midsole hardness for manufacturing age and gender-specific shoe.

  • Since the integration level of VLSI circuits progresses very quickly, a highly reliable thin $SiO_2$ film is required to fabricate a small-geometry MOS device. In the present study we have attempted to eliminate the failure-causing defects that develop in thin oxide films during the oxidation step by performing a long-time preoxidation and postoxidation annealing. The TDDB test and the copper decoration method were used to calculate the oxide defects density of MOS device. The dielectric reliability of high-quality thin oxides have been studied by using the time-zero-dielectric-breakdown (ramp-voltage-stressed I-V) and time-dependent-dielectric -breakdown (Constant-stressed I-V) tests. Failure times against temperature and electric field are examined and acceleration factors are abtained for each parameter. Based on the data obtained, breakdown wearout limitation for thin oxide films is estimated.

Adaptation of Motion Capture Data of Human Arms to a Humanoid Robot Using Optimization

  • Interactions of a humanoid with a human are important, when the humanoid is requested to provide people with human-friendly services in unknown or uncertain environment. Such interactions may require more complicated and human-like behaviors from the humanoid. In this work the arm motions of a human are discussed as the early stage of human motion imitation by a humanoid. A motion capture system is used to obtain human-friendly arm motions as references. However the captured motions may not be applied directly to the humanoid, since the differences in geometric or dynamics aspects as length, mass, degrees of freedom, and kinematics and dynamics capabilities exist between the humanoid and the human. To overcome this difficulty a method to adapt captured motions to a humanoid is developed. The geometric difference in the arm length is resolved by scaling the arm length of the humanoid with a constant. Using the scaled geometry of the humanoid the imitation of actor's arm motions is achieved by solving an inverse kinematics problem formulated using optimization. The errors between the captured trajectories of actor arms and the approximated trajectories of humanoid arms are minimized. Such dynamics capabilities of the joint motors as limits of joint position, velocity and acceleration are also imposed on the optimization problem. Two motions of one hand waiving and performing a statement in sign language are imitated by a humanoid through dynamics simulation.

Effects of Isolation Period Difference and Beam-Column Stiffness Ratio on the Dynamic Response of Reinforced Concrete Buildings

  • This study analyzed the isolation effect for a 15-story reinforced concrete (RC) building with regard to changes in the beam-column stiffness ratio and the difference in the vibration period between the superstructure and an isolation layer in order to provide basic data that are needed to devise a framework for the design of isolated RC buildings. First, this analytical study proposes to design RC building frames by securing an isolation period that is at least 2.5 times longer than the natural vibration period of a superstructure and configuring a target isolation period that is 3.0 s or longer. To verify the proposed plan, shaking table tests were conducted on a scaled-down model of 15-story RC building installed with laminated rubber bearings. The experimental results indicate that the tested isolated structure, which complied with the proposed conditions, exhibited an almost constant response distribution, verifying that the behavior of the structure improved in terms of usability. The RC building's response to inter-story drift (which causes structural damage) was reduced by about one-third that of a non-isolated structure, thereby confirming that the safety of such a superstructure can be achieved through the building's improved seismic performance.
