Busan's Haeundae Resort project, which is currently being constructed by POSCO E&C, comprises the 101-story Landmark Tower and two 85-story residential towers. Presently, foundation and basement construction is complete, with a final completion date set for 2019. Considerations about the construction and design of the three reinforced concrete high-rise buildings will be discussed in this paper.

In this paper, we proposed the novel device and process design to enhance the uniformity of low-temperature poly-Si TFTs fabricated by sequential lateral solidification (SLS). The proposed design schemes can avert the conventional two-shot SLS process-induced issues. Moreover, different design considerations between conventional excimer laser crystallization and the SLS process were also proposed and discussed.

Variability of active galactic nuclei is now a well-known phenomenon. This remains to be fully explained by a theoretical model of the central engine. Time scales of AGN variability seem to range continuously from hours up to months. The short time scale variability must be related to the phenomena on the event horizon of the black hole, while the long one to those in the accretion disk or surrounding matter. Based on the axisymmetric, nonstationary model of the central engine, we discuss theoretical considerations on the variability of active galactic nucleus.

The railway system is composed of large scale infrastructures and high-cost trains. For planning and analyzing this kind of complex system, simulation method can be used for efficient tool. In this research, we review basic simulation programming models and present a modeling for the elements of railway system such as rail-line infrastructure, train, time table and operational route. Additionally, some considerations on the development of multi-train traffic simulator for KyongBu-line are discussed.

A glass cockpit is an aircraft cockpit that features electronic (digital) instrument displays, typically large LCD screens, rather than the traditional style of analog dials and gauges. While a traditional cockpit relies on numerous mechanical gauges to display information, a glass cockpit uses several displays driven by flight management systems, that can be adjusted to display flight information as needed. This study introduces design considerations of electronic display in KAS Part 23 airplanes.

This paper describes on the design considerations and analysis of moving primary-type linear induction motor for automatic conveyer system. For the study of the designed motor characteristics, calculated values obtained from the analysis using finite element method for various operation conditions are compared with the experimental results. Using the combined interactions of the thrust, the arigap flux density, and the reactive power at standstill as performance criteria, a proper ratio of the pole pitch to the effective airgap is presented for the design criterion.

The efficacy improvement issues in a unit discharge cell have been approached from the structural considerations. The tested cell designs include (a) a coplanar type with annular auxiliary electrode buried in barrier ribs, (b) a coplanar type with split auxiliary electrodes also burred in barrier ribs and (c) a coaxial type with a floating electrode stacked on the base electrode. From spatiotemporally resolved optical images of near-IR emission taken by a gated-ICCD camera and relative VUV emission intensity estimated by laser absorption spectroscopy, the differences in the discharge and light emission performances of those three cell types have been compared and discussed.

For lower power and smaller size with higher image quality, it is desirable to have more units integrated on a display panel. It needs careful design considerations in selecting CMOS, SOP or PCB. An experimental display system is designed and power and delay considering chip area, data rates and bus width are analyzed for all technology combinations to obtain optimum design methodologies.

This paper examines the statistical process that should be performed with caution in the composite material qualification and equivalency process, and describes statistically significant considerations on outlier finding and handling process, data pooling through normalization process, review for data distributions and design allowables determination process for structural analysis. Based on these considerations, the need for guidance on statistical process for aircraft manufacturers who use the composite material properties database are proposed.

This study provides considerations for quantitative risk assessment of landslide on GIS technology. It shows how the landslide possibility analysis is linked by GIS modeling to provide loss estimation tools for landslide hazards in support of socio-economic loss reduction efforts. Those risk assessment results can deliver factual damage situation prediction to policy making for the landslide damage mitigation.
