의사소통능력과 갈등해결전략에 따른 인기아와 배척아 판별 (Discriminant Analysis of Popular and Rejected Children Based on Their Communicative Competence and Conflict-Resolving Strategies)

  • The purposes of this study were to test the differences in communicative competence and conflict-resolving strategies between both popular and rejected children, and to thereby verify the discriminance of communicative competence and conflict-resolving strategies for both types of children. 52 popular children and 41 rejected children from among a pool of 202 6th grade elementary students were selected, and the data were analyzed by means of independent sample t-test and discriminant analysis. The research findings are as follows : First, listen up (sub-factors of perceiving), self-presentation, planning, and coding revealed statistically significant differences between the popular and the rejected children. Second, only negotiation and cooperation strategies revealed any statistically significant differences between the popular and the rejected children, while other sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategies indicated broad indifference between them. Third, it was only the factor of planning among 5 factors of communicative competence and 4 factors within conflict-resolving strategies which indicated that it was the most discriminant predictor between the popular and the rejected children. These results suggest that a comprehensive program is needed to improve the communicative competence and conflict-resolving strategies of rejected children.

  • The purposes of this study were to test differences in conflict-resolving strategies and emotional intelligence based on children's peer status, and to verify the discriminance of conflict-resolving strategies and emotional intelligence for peer status. 58 popular children and 52 rejected children from 4 elementary school were selected, and the data were analyzed with independent sample t-test and discriminant analysis. The research findings are as follows: First, negotiation- and cooperation-strategies (sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategy) and emotional intelligence showed statistically significant differences between popular children and rejected children, while other sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategy and sub-factors of emotional intelligence showed indifference between them. Second, negotiation- and cooperation-strategies among 4 sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategy and 5 sub-factors of emotional intelligence were the most discriminant predictors for children's peer status. The results suggest systematic teacher training and program for the rejected children's improvement of negotiation- and cooperation-strategies in their peer relations.

청소년이 지각한 부모-자녀간 의사소통과 자아존중감, 친구간 갈등해결전략이 교우만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Parent-Adolescent Communication, Adolescent's Self-Esteem and Strategies in Peer Conflict Situations on Satisfaction with Peer Relationships among Korean Adolescents)

  • This study investigates the effects of parent-adolescent communication, adolescent self-esteem, and strategies in peer conflict situations on the satisfaction of adolescents with their peer relationships. The subjects included students attending a girls' and a boys' middle school in Gongju City. Random sampling was used to pick a class from each of the three grades in the schools. 233 students, who's both parents were living, were used in the final analysis in an effort to examine the impacts of student communication with parents on student satisfaction with their friends. The findings were as follows: the subjects most often used the yielding type of conflict-resolving strategy, followed by the cooperating, compromising, dominating, and avoiding strategy-type. The girls showed a higher level of parent-child communication than the boys. Girls had high self-esteem and mostly adopted the cooperating type of conflict-resolving strategies, followed by the yielding, compromising, dominating and avoiding strategy-type. The boys mostly employed the yielding strategy type followed by the cooperating, compromising, dominating, and avoiding strategy-types. The results indicate that the satisfaction level with friends was high among those who used the avoiding strategy-type less and yielding strategy-type more. Girls were found to have high self-esteem and engaged in communication with their parents. The compromising, cooperating, and dominating types of conflict-resolving strategies did not exercise significant influences on their satisfaction with friends.

외식 프랜차이즈 본부의 갈등해결행동이 절차와 행동의 질 및 해지의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Food Service Franchisors' Conflict Resolution Activities on Procedure Quality, Behaviour Quality and Dissolution Intention)

  • Purpose - In recent years, research has been conducted on the conflict resolution strategies of the franchise headquarters and the franchisees, but there is a lack of research on the factors of conflict due to the intrinsic structure, such as interdependence or hierarchical relationship, and behavioral analysis to reduce the conflict. In this study, we analyze the relationship between satisfaction and trust formed in the process and result of the business, and the result of action to dissolution intention. Research design, data, methodology - For these purposes, the author developed the proposed model and several hypotheses. In this model, conflict resolution strategies consist of five dimensions such as avoiding, forcing, cooperating, obliging, and compromising strategy. And, this model proposed that onflict resolution strategies are antecedents of procedure quality, behaviour quality and dissolution intention are consequences of conflict resolution strategies. The data were collected from April 1 to April 15, 2013. Because this study examined franchise industries from the franchisee perspective, we contacted franchisee store owner and managers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Interviewers trained contacted a total of 483 franchisees, and 400 franchisees responded. Out of 400 respondents, 2 respondents were deleted due to missing information. Thus, a total of 398 franchisee were used for this study. he data were analyzed using frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equational modeling with SPSS 24.0 and Amos 23.0 statistical program. Results - The findings can be summarized as follows: First, franchisor conflict resolution activities have significant effects on procedure quality. Second, procedure quality has a significant effect on behavior quality. Finally, behavior quality has a significant effect on dissolution intention. Conclusions - In this study, we investigated the relationship between conflict resolution behavior, procedural quality, behavior quality and dissolution intention. As a result, the franchisers should strive to resolve conflicts not only in solving simple problems with franchisees, but also in a longer term perspective. We also found that the procedural aspects of resolving conflicts should not be ignored. If the trust and satisfaction of each other increase during the process of resolving the conflict, it will positively affect the satisfaction and trust in resolving the conflict. This is also because it serves to lower the intention of termination. However, there is a limitation that it is targeted only to the restaurant franchise, and it is necessary to study the conflict resolution behavior depending on the type of conflict.

  • A scenario known as conflict in face recognition may arise as a result of some disparity-related issues (such as expression, distortion, occlusion and others) leading to a compromise of someone's identity or contradiction of the intended message. However, addressing this requires the determination and application of appropriate procedures among the various conflict theories both in terms of concepts as well as resolution strategies. Theories such as Marxist, Game theory (Prisoner's dilemma, Penny matching, Chicken problem), Lanchester theory and Information theory were analyzed in relation to facial images conflict and these were made possible by trying to provide answers to selected questions as far as resolving facial conflict is concerned. It has been observed that the scenarios presented in the Marxist theory agree with the form of resolution expected in the analysis of conflict and its related issues as they relate to face recognition. The study observed that the issue of conflict in facial images can better be analyzed using the concept introduced by the Marxist theory in relation to the Information theory. This is as a result of its resolution strategy which tends to seek a form of balance as result as opposed to the win or lose case scenarios applied in other concepts. This was also consolidated by making reference to the main mechanisms and result scenario applicable in Information theory.

  • Purpose - In recent years, research has been conducted on the conflict resolution strategies of the franchise headquarters and the franchisees, but there is a lack of research on how the power structure and cultural factors play a role in resolving conflicts. From this perspective, this study is to examine the structural relationship between franchisors' cultural orientation and relationship power, and conflict resolution strategies, relationship trust, and relationship performance using. The findings of this study suggest how franchise headquarters should establish long-term relationship with franchisees and share information. Research design, data, methodology - The data were collected from April 1 to April 15, 2013. Because this study examined franchise industries from the franchisee perspective, we contacted franchisee store owner and managers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Interviewers trained contacted a total of 200 franchisees, and 196 franchisees responded. Out of 196 respondents, 13 respondents were deleted due to missing information. Thus, a total of 183 franchisee were used for this study. he data were analyzed using frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equational modeling with SPSS 24.0 and Amos 23.0 statistical program. Results - The results showed that cooperation orientation and relational power of franchisor had significant effects on conflict resolution strategies. Cooperating, obliging, and compromising strategies of conflict resolution strategy had significant effects on relationship trust. Also, relationship trust had significant effect on relationship performance. Conclusions - This study shows that the franchise headquarters and the franchisees share necessary information for common purposes and that continuous two-way communications play an important role in resolving conflicts. In other words, the result of this study suggests that if the franchise headquarters and the franchisee actively consider the position of the other party and strive to achieve the goal, conflict resolution may be more successful. In order to do this, the franchise headquarters will have to consider how to build and maintain continuous communication with the franchisees, and continuous education is also needed so that employees can have a cooperative attitude. However, since the culture of these organizations is not made up of simple staff training and is not formed within a short time, the CEO of the franchisee headquarters should take the lead in establishing a cooperative culture with the merchants over the long term.

Cognitive Conflict and Causal Attributions to Successful Conceptual Change in Physics Learning

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between cognitive conflict and students' causal attributions and to find out what kinds of attributions affect successful resolution of cognitive conflict in learning physics. Twenty-nine college students who attended a base general physics course took an attribution test and a conceptual pretest related to action and reaction concept. Of these, twenty students who revealed alternative conceptions were selected. They were confronted with a discrepant demonstration and took part in the cognitive conflict level test, a posttest, and delayed posttest. Those students who experienced high levels of cognitive conflict were selected and interviewed to find out what kinds of attributions affect resolving the conflict. When confronted with the discrepant event, the students who attributed success outcomes to "effort" experienced higher levels of cognitive conflict than those to "task difficulty." However, those students who revealed high levels of cognitive conflict and attributed success outcomes to effort did not always produce conceptual change. They had different perspectives on effort and conducted different effort activities to resolve the cognitive conflict. In addition, these effort activities appeared to include their motivational beliefs, metacognitive and volitional strategies. The results of this study indicate that in order for the conflicts to lead to change, students need to have the perspective on effort implying the use of the self-regulated learning strategy and to conduct effort activities based on them. Beyond cold conceptual change, this article suggests that there is a management strategy of cognitive conflict in the classroom context.

학교급식 영양교사와 영양사의 역할갈등, 자기효능감, 직무만족 및 직무몰입 비교 - 영양교사와 영양사의 상호작용을 중심으로 - (Comparison of Role Conflict, Self-Efficacy, Job Satisfaction, and Job Involvement between Nutrition Teachers and Dietitians at School Food Service in Incheon Metropolitan City - Focusing on the Interactions between Nutrition Teachers and Dietitians -)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare differences in role conflict, self efficacy, job satisfaction, and job involvement perceived by school nutrition teachers and dietitians. A total of 335 female school nutrition teachers and dietitians from Incheon area were surveyed by a self-report questionnaire in November 2010. Collected data were processed using SPSS 15.0. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested and differences between the two groups were analyzed using the Student's t-test, the chi-square test, and a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The job satisfaction level of nutrition teachers was higher than that of dietitians. The effect of role conflict and job satisfaction for nutrition teachers and dietitians was different according to age. In addition, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and job involvement of nutrition teachers and dietitians were influenced by their annual salaries. The frequency of meals served also affected role conflict, job satisfaction, and job involvement of the nutrition teachers and dietitians, and the effect of job involvement by the nutrition teachers and dietitians was different according to meal service type. Therefore, it is necessary to establish strategies for resolving role conflicts among school foodservice specialists and improve their self-efficacy for enhancing consumer's satisfaction with the general quality of school food service. These efforts may contribute to job satisfaction and job involvement of food service specialists and ultimately to the productivity of food service and the establishment of food service specialist roles.

  • 외식산업은 서비스 산업의 특성상 생산과 소비가 동시에 이루어지고, 고객의 참여가 판매로 이뤄지기 때문에 고객 지향적이고 서비스 지향적이어야 한다. 그러나 외식업체의 효율적인 운영을 위한 인력관리정책으로 최소의 인원을 고용유지하고 점차적으로 증가되는 비정규직 종사원을 통한 양질의 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 포괄적인 인적자원관리 정책을 수행하는 것은 외식업체들이 직면하고 있는 문제이다. 따라서 종사원에 대한 새로운 인식의 전환과 차별화된 인적자원관리를 통한 질적 서비스 향상으로 경쟁력이 있는 외식업체가 되기 위해서는 종사원의 직무와 관련된 갈등 원인을 분석하고, 이에 따른 내부 마케팅이 갈등의 원인에 미치는 영향관계를 실증적으로 연구함으로써 외식업체의 인적자원 관리할 필요성이 제기된다는 문제 의식 아래 연구를 수행하게 되었다.

TV드라마 <마인>의 여성주의 서사 - 가부장제 클리셰의 파기와 질서의 전복 - (The Feminism Narrative in TV Drama : Breaking the Cliché and Overturning the Order of the Patriarchy)

  • 본 연구는 TV 드라마 <마인>을 대상으로 이 드라마가 최근의 여성주의적 요구를 수용하고 실현해 나가기 위해 어떤 서사 전략을 사용하는지 분석하였다. 그 결과 가부장제가 견고한 재벌가를 배경으로 부계 혈통인 아들이 아닌 두 며느리를 서사의 주체로 호명하고, 이들이 가부장제 질서에 도전, 사건 해결의 주체가 되어 가는 과정을 그리며 기존 가부장제 드라마의 클리셰를 파기하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 과정에서 남성들의 권력이 거세되고 대리인 역할을 해왔던 여성들이 희화화됨으로써 젠더 권력이 전도되었다. 또한 기존의 친모-양모, 동서 간 등 여성 간 갈등 구조의 인물관계를 파기하고, 이들 간의 끈끈한 연대를 통해 부계 혈통주의를 상징하는 남성을 단죄하고 진정한 '나의 것'을 찾아가는 결말을 통해 가부장제 질서를 전복하며 두 가지 성취를 일궈낸다. 하나는 가부장제의 원형인 부계 혈통의 아버지가 아닌 양모와 친모가 아이의 공동양육을 하게 됨으로써 비혈연 모계가족의 가능성을 제시한 점이다. 다른 하나는 부계 혈통으로 승계되던 재벌가의 후계 자리가 장자나 부도덕한 아들이 아닌 레즈비언 며느리에게 승계됨으로써 가부장제가 고수해온 이성애 중심의 '정상가족' 이데올로기를 전복했다는 점이다.
