  • This paper consider the condition monitoring technology of electrical machine in metro substation need for efficient and effective management and diagnosis. Developing management system using condition monitoring system is very competitive field, and still to a great extent seen as an unnecessary cost. There are several approaches to maintenance management in urban transit such as reliability-centered maintenance, availability-target maintenance and preventive maintenance to advanced approaches involving condition monitoring techniques. In this paper we give a brief introduction to condition-based management and diagnosis in metro substation and which management system satisfying various demanding in railway.

A Study on the Facility Management Method through Actual Condition of Space Management - Based on the National University (공간관리 현황조사를 통한 대학시설관리방안에 관한 연구 - 국립대학의 사례를 중심으로)

  • To enhance the administrational efficiency and for university facility and space management to be public, this research suggests a competent and an objective evaluation system and index. The study will assist national and university finances to contribute towards advanced education. Furthermore, figure out the space management condition of national university by utilizing the evaluation system, and through that suggesting efficient special management method. According to the result of this study, evaluation system for university facility can be widely divided into seven categories; system preparation, members conference, propriety of space allocation, propriety of management system, space use ratio, time control of space use, imposition index of surplus use. Based on these subdivisions, the space management category contains 19 evaluation items and the marking system allows perfect score of 100 points. In result of examining space management condition using the evaluation system, space management was well enforced in research focused university group where as in education centered university group, it shows relatively low enforcement. It also illustrated that efforts of evaluation items were required in categories of imposition index of surplus use and special use ratio in order for efficient space management.

Evaluation of Road Asset Value using Alternative Depreciation methods : Focusing on National Highway No.1 (대체적 감가상각기법을 활용한 도로자산의 가치 평가 : 국도 1호선을 중심으로)

  • PURPOSES : This study proposes the road asset valuation approach using alternative depreciation methods. It has become necessary to have asset management system according to the adoption of accrual basis accounting for governmental financial reporting and the amendment of the road act. Therefore, it is very important to analyze the effect of depreciation methods on road asset value as a basic research for road asset management system. METHODS : The Ministry of Strategy and Finance (MOSF) has mainly performed road asset valuation based on Write down Replacement Cost and Straight Line depreciation method. This study suggests some appropriate asset valuation methods for road assets through case analysis using three depreciation methods: Consumption-based depreciation method, Condition-based depreciation method, and Straight Line depreciation method. A road asset valuation data of national highway route 1 (year 2014) is used to analyze the effect of three depreciation methods on the road asset value. Road assets include land and structures (pavement, bridge, and tunnel). This study mainly focuses on structures such as bridges and tunnels, because according to governmental accounting standards, land and road pavement assets do not depreciate. RESULTS : The main results of this study are as follows. Firstly, overall asset value of national highway route 1 was estimated at 6.97 trillion KRW when MOSF's method (straight-line depreciation method) is applied. Secondly, asset value was estimated at 4.85 trillion KRW on application of consumption-based depreciation method. Thirdly, asset value was estimated at 4.37 trillion KRW when condition-based depreciation method is applied. Therefore, either consumption-based or condition-based depreciation methods would be more appropriate than straight-line depreciation method if we can use the condition data of road assets including land that are available in real time. CONCLUSIONS : Since road assets such as pavements, bridges, and tunnels have various patterns of deterioration and condition monitoring period, it is necessary to consider a specific valuation method according to the condition of each road asset. Firstly, even though road pavements do not depreciate, asset valuation through condition-based depreciation method would be more appropriate when requirements for application of non-depreciation approach are not satisfied. Since bridge and tunnel facilities show various patterns of deterioration and condition monitoring period by type and condition level, consumption-based depreciation method based on deterioration model would be appropriate. Therefore, it is necessary to have a reasonable asset management system to apply condition-based depreciation method and a periodic condition investigation to manage road assets well.

  • Nowadays, the web service was based on composing the e-business and distributed computing environment. But existing workflow management systems have many problems with the interoperability between companies because they are made before most web services. For these problems, the workflow based composition language such as the Business Process Execute Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS or BPEL) appeared in expressing the web service composition. In this paper, we present an event based rule management system architecture that executes automatically the BPEL using the Event-Condition-Action (ECA) rules. The event based rule management system consists of the event manager, rule manager, and Jess. The Jess is the part of executing and deciding the condition.

  • Knowledge-based services are largely dependent upon human-driven works. Therefore, considering human characteristics is required when modeling processes for knowledge-based services. As an emerging technology for Business Process Management, Human Interaction Management and its supportive process management can be an alternative to deal with human-driven processes. However, current HIM does not suggest concrete method for modeling conditions that are essential to realize supportive process management. And the condition modeling of HumanEdj, the only HIM software implemented, reveals the problem of complexity. As a solution, this paper suggests a fact-oriented ontological approach to process modeling. The approach uses human-friendly form of facts for condition modeling.

A Study on the Reflection of Condition-Based Maintenance Requirement in the Defense Specification (상태기반정비 요구도 국방규격 반영에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest weapon system specifications for requirements of Condition-Based Maintenance(CBM/CBM+). Methods: The military documents and case studies with regard to condition-based maintenance were reviewed. Representative Korea defense specifications of weapon system such as an aircraft, a C4ISR etc. were analyzed and investigated the level of requirement for maintainability was. Results: Condition-based maintenance was defined in both U.S. instruction and Korean directive. While deparment of defense(U.S.) provide a guidebook for CBM+, detailed instruction was not sufficient for Korean. Ministry of national defense(ROK) define the CBM+ by means of IPS element which should be developed along with the system development. The maintainability was barely included in Korean defense specifications, except for BIT(Built-in test) function. As a first step for defining the condition-based maintenance requirement in defense specification, this study suggests a standard form for data needed to acquire according to types of system, fault, failure, and so on. Conclusion: The empirical researches on CMB/CBM+ with domestic weapon systems are not enough, and a logic which leads the maintenance strategy to CMB/CBM+ is not solved. Through technical researches and institutional improvements including this study, we hope that condition-based maintenance would be fully established in the Korean defense field.

A Study on Rural Landscape Assessment Based on Rural Amenity Resources (농촌어메니티 자원에 기초한 농촌정관평가에 관한 연구)

  • Rural landscape is essential resources to reinvigorate rural tourism and local economy. The objective of this study is to apply the methodology that can assess landscapes of many rural villages based on the data of Rural Amenity Resource Survey. Above all, to make the data of rural amenity resources survey appropriate for landscape assessment, that was reclassified into 4 landscape resource and 12 lower items. Secondly, 4 evaluation standards of rural landscape; weight of landscape resources, weight of lower items, evaluation of lower items as the number, and evaluation of management condition was established by questionnaire survey. Thirdly, the evaluation standards was applied to case study area; Jug-Goc Myeon, Goc-Seong county, Jeollanamdo. Finally, this result was compared with the other result that management condition was not included in, and the villages that were urgent to improve management condition were selected. As a result, water resource and management condition have great effects on the total quality of rural landscape. Therefore, there are many villages that have peat potentials although that indicates low quality of landscape, now.

A Converging Exact Algorithm for Determining an Optimal 3-Class-Based Dedicated Linear Storage System

  • In this paper, we readdress a layout design problem, PTL[3], for determining an optimal 3-class-based dedicated linear storage layout in a class of unit load storage systems. Based on some fundamental properties derived, we provide a converging exact algorithm with O(n[logn]), which is more efficient than that of Yang and Kim [8] and can be applied to PTL[K] with $K{\ge}4$ in order to reduce computational execution time. In addition, we prove that the necessary condition suggested by them is also a sufficient condition to PTL[3].

  • To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.
