RATIONAL DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS WITH POSITIVE EQUILIBRIUM POINT

  • In this note we study positive solutions of the mth order rational difference equation $x_n=(a_0+\sum{{m\atop{i=1}}a_ix_{n-i}/(b_0+\sum{{m\atop{i=1}}b_ix_{n-i}$, where n = m,m+1,m+2, $\ldots$ and $x_0,\ldots,x_{m-1}$ > 0. We describe a sufficient condition on nonnegative real numbers $a_0,a_1,\ldots,a_m,b_0,b_1,\ldots,b_m$ under which every solution $x_n$ of the above equation tends to the limit $(A-b_0+\sqrt{(A-b_0)^2+4_{a_0}B}$/2B as $n{\rightarrow}{\infty}$, where $A=\sum{{m\atop{i=1}}\;a_i$ and $B=\sum{{m\atop{i=1}}\;b_i$.

Explicit sufficient and necessary condition are established when $c_i$ = 0, i = 1, 2, ${\ldots}$, n.

Effects of the Inlet Boundary Layer Thickness on the Flow in an Axial Compressor (I) - Hub Corner Stall and Tip Leakage Flow - (입구 경계층 두께가 축류 압축기 내부 유동에 미치는 영향 (I) - 허브 코너 실속 및 익단 누설 유동 -)

  • A three-dimensional computation was conducted to understand effects of the inlet boundary layer thickness on the internal flow in a low-speed axial compressor operating at the design condition($\phi=85\%$) and near stall condition($\phi=65\%$). At the design condition, the flows in the axial compressor show, independent of the inlet boundary layer thickness, similar characteristics such as the pressure distribution, size of the hub comer-stall, tip leakage flow trajectory, limiting streamlines on the blade suction surface, etc. However, as the load is increased, the hub corner-stall grows to make a large separation region at the junction of the hub and suction surface for the inlet condition with thick boundary layers at the hub and casing. Moreover, the tip leakage flow is more vortical than that observed in case of the thin inlet boundary layer and has the critical point where the trajectory of the tip leakage flow is abruptly turned into the downstream. For the inlet condition with thin boundary layers, the hub corner-stall is diminished so it is indistinguishable from the wake. The tip leakage flow leans to the leading edge more than at the design condition but has no critical point. In addition to these, the severe reverse flow, induced by both boundary layer on the blade surface and the tip leakage flow, can be found to act as the blockage of flows near the casing, resulting in heavy loss.

  • To develop a scouring method for the high-grade quality and the high value added of flax for spinning, it was measured and analyzed weight loss and degree of injury with change of scouring concentration, time, temperature and pH. We got the f ollowing results; Firstly, in case that flax was scoured at a fixed condition, the weight loss and degree of injury of scoured flax under the no-cutting condition were lower than that of scoured flax under the cutting condition. Secondly, when flax was scoured with $Na_{2}CO_{3}$, it was obtained that the higher weight loss and degree of injury and weight loss with the increase of scouring time and condition. The degree of injury was lower than any other under the treatment condition of 4% $Na_{2}CO_{3}$concentraion for 2 hours. Finally, when alkaline scoured flax was rescoured by pectinase, enzyme activation effect was the most active under the treatment condition of pH 4 for 2 hours. The scouring effect was better than that of alkaline scouring only.

Partitioning of Carbon and Nitrogen Reserves During Winter Adaptation and Spring Regrowth I.   • The objective of this study is to obtain the basic data for investigating the effects of organic reserves on winter survial or regrowth yield. Dry matter, nitrogen and non-structural carbohydrate content of plants grown under $5^{\circ}C$ or $20^{\circ}C$ of culture temperature during 25 days were investigated. The dry matter content of leaves and roots were significantly reduced under $5^{\circ}C$ compared with $20^{\circ}C$culture condition. Comparing with the dry matter per plant under $20^{\circ}C$, those in leaves and roots under $5^{\circ}C$ decreased to 25% and 10%, respectively, after 25 days of temperature treatment. Total nitrogen content in leaves under $20^{\circ}C$ and $5^{\circ}C$ increased to 68% and 39% compared to the initial lenel(day O), respectively, during 25 days after temperature treatment, Nitrogen content in roots highly increased under 5 C while there was a little change under $20^{\circ}C$ condition. The nitrogen contents in roots under $5^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$ were 39.0 and 30.8mgJg DM, respectively, after 25 days of temperature treatment. Total contents of soluble carbohydrate in both leaves and roots under $5^{\circ}C$ were higher than those under $20^{\circ}C$ condition. After 25 days of temperature treatment under$5^{\circ}C$ , their contents in leaves and roots were 1.4 and 2.0 times higher than those of under $20^{\circ}C$ condition. Stach atent in roots under $20^{\circ}C$ was less changed, while thatof under $5^{\circ}C$ greatly increased from 64.8 to 178.7mglg DM duling 25 days. 'Ihese results clearly showed that an accumulation of both nitrogen and non-structural carbohydrate in the plants occured under low temperature condition.e condition.

  • Lead alloy is used as coolant in Lead-based cooled Fast Reactor (LFR). The natural characteristics of lead alloy are combined with the simple structural design of LFR. This constitutes the inherent safety characteristics of LFR. The main work of this paper is to take the main coolant pump (MCP) in the lead-cooled fast reactor (LFR) as the research object, and to study the flow pattern distribution of the internal flow field under the reverse rotation pump condition, the reverse rotation positive-flow braking condition and the reverse rotation negative-flow braking condition. In this paper, the double-outlet volute type and the space guide vane are selected as the potential designs of the CLEAR-I MCP. In this paper, the CFD method is used to study the potential reverse accident of the MCP. It is found that the highest flow velocity in the impeller appears at the impeller outlet, and the Q-H curves of the two design programs basically coincide. The space guide vane type MCP has better hydraulic performance under the reverse rotation positive-flow condition, the Q-H curves of the two designs gradually separate with increasing flow rate, and the maximum flow velocity inside the space guide vane type MCP is obviously lower than that of the double-outlet volute type. For the reverse rotation test of MCP, only the condition of the forward rotating pump of the main coolant pump is tested and verified. For the simulation of the MCP in LBE medium, it proved that the turbulence model and basic settings selected in the simulation are reliable.

  • Based on the systems and devices which are being developed in the KNICS project, the data communication network (DCN) which is an essential element for the interfaces among the I&C systems. is designed. The traffic load for each network is calculated at the expected maximum traffic condition. The result shows that the utilizations of all networks satisfy the design requirements.

  • Let $P_I$ be the convex compact set of all unital positive linear maps between the $n \times n$ matrix algebra over the complex field. We find a necessary and sufficient condition for which two maximal faces of $\cap P_I$ intersect. In particular, we show that any pair of maximal faces of $P_I$ has the nonempty intersection, whenever $n \geq 3$.

  • In this paper, we give some new definitions of compatible mappings in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces and we prove a common fixed point theorem for four mappings under the condition of compatible mappings of type (I) and of type (II) in complete intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces.
