Nowadays Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are a very popular and emerging technology in the world. MANETs helps mobile nodes to communicate with each other anywhere without using infrastructure. For this purpose we need good routing protocols to establish the network between nodes because mobile nodes can change their topology very fast. Mobile node movements are very important features of the routing protocol. They can have a direct effect on the network performance. In this paper, we are going to discuss random walk and random waypoint mobility models and their effects on routing parameters. Previously, mobility models were used to evaluate network performance under the different routing protocols. Therefore, the network performance will be strongly modeled by the nature of the mobility pattern. The routing protocols must rearrange the changes of accurate routes within the order. Thus, the overheads of traffic routing updates are significantly high. For specific network protocols or applications, these mobility patterns have different impacts.
The purposes of the present study are to investigate hemodynamic characteristics and to define shear-sensitive remodeling in the stenosed coronary models. Two models for the compensatory remodelling used for this research are a pre-stenotic dilation and a post-stenotic dilation models for the computer simulation. The peak wall shear stress on the post-stenotic model is higher than that of the pre-stenotic model. Two recirculation zones are generated in the pre-stenotic model, and the zones in the pre-stenotic model are smaller than those in the post-stenotic model. Variation of the wall shear stress in the pre-stenotic model is lower than that in the post-stenotic model. In computer simulation with the post-stenotic model, higher temporal and spatial shear fluctuation and stress suggested shear-sensitive remodeling. Shear-sensitive remodeling may be associated with the increased risk of plaque rupture, the underlying cause of acute coronary syndromes, and sudden cardiac death.
Various artifacts that are produced as software R&D project progresses contain research plan, research report, software requirements and design descriptions, etc. When conducting a software R&D project, it is necessary to confirm that the developed system has implemented its research requirements well. However, various research results make it difficult to design appropriate tests. So, there is a practical need for us to comprehensively handle the planning, execution, and reporting of software test for finding and verifying information related to the research. In this paper, we propose a useful method for software test process in R&D project which supports model based software testing. The proposed method supports automation of test design and generation of test data by explicitly separating each step of System Under Test (SUT). The method utilizes the various models representing the control flow of the function to extract the information necessary for testing the system. And it supports a systematic testing process based on TMMi and ISO 29119. Finally, we show the validity of the method by implementing a prototype with basic functionality to generate test data from software behavioral models.
Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) networks require dynamic flow admission control to guarantee end-to-end quality of service (QoS) for each Internet protocol (IP) traffic flow. In this paper, we propose to tackle the joint routing and admission control problem for the IP traffic flows in MPLS networks without rerouting already admitted flows. We propose two mathematical programming models for this problem. The first model includes end-to-end delay constraints and the second one, end-to-end packet loss constraints. These end-to-end QoS constraints are imposed not only for the new traffic flow, but also for all already admitted flows in the network. The objective function of both models is to minimize the end-to-end delay for the new flow. Numerical results show that considering end-to-end delay (or packet loss) constraints for all flows has a small impact on the flow blocking rate. Moreover, we reduces significantly the mean end-to-end delay (or the mean packet loss rate) and the proposed approach is able to make its decision within 250 msec.
Prostate cancer (PCa) is a fatal disease that occurs in men. In general, PCa cells are found in the prostate gland. Early diagnosis is the key to prevent the spreading of cancers to other parts of the body. In this case, deep learning-based systems can detect and distinguish histological patterns in microscopy images. The histological grades used for the analysis were benign, grade 3, grade 4, and grade 5. In this study, we attempt to use transfer learning and fine-tuning methods as well as different model architectures to develop and compare the models. We implemented MobileNet, ResNet50, and DenseNet121 models and used three different strategies of freezing layers techniques of fine-tuning, to get various pre-trained weights to improve accuracy. Finally, transfer learning using MobileNet with the half-layer frozen showed the best results among the nine models, and 90% accuracy was obtained on the test data set.

We propose a rapid adaptive learning framework for streaming object detection, called EER-ASSL. The method combines the expected error reduction (EER) dependent rollback learning and the active semi-supervised learning (ASSL) for a rapid adaptive CNN detector. Most CNN object detectors are built on the assumption of static data distribution. However, images are often noisy and biased, and the data distribution is imbalanced in a real world environment. The proposed method consists of collaborative sampling and EER-ASSL. The EER-ASSL utilizes the active learning (AL) and rollback based semi-supervised learning (SSL). The AL allows us to select more informative and representative samples measuring uncertainty and diversity. The SSL divides the selected streaming image samples into the bins and each bin repeatedly transfers the discriminative knowledge of the EER and CNN models to the next bin until convergence and incorporation with the EER rollback learning algorithm is achieved. The EER models provide a rapid short-term myopic adaptation and the CNN models an incremental long-term performance improvement. EER-ASSL can overcome noisy and biased labels in varying data distribution. Extensive experiments shows that EER-ASSL obtained 70.9 mAP compared to state-of-the-art technology such as Faster RCNN, SSD300, and YOLOv2.

In the systems and software modeling field, a conceptual model involves modeling with concepts to support development and design. An example of a conceptual model is a description developed using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). UML uses a model multiplicity formulation approach, wherein a number of models are used to represent alternative views. By contrast, a model singularity approach uses only a single integrated model. Each of these styles of modeling has its strengths and weaknesses. This paper introduces a partial solution to the issue of multiplicity vs. singularity in modeling by adopting UML use cases and class models into the conceptual thinging machine (TM) model. To apply use cases, we adopt the observation that a use-case diagram is a description that shows the internal structure of the part of the system represented by the use case in addition to being useful to people outside of the system. Additionally, the UML class diagram is recast in TM representation. Accordingly, we develop a TMUML model that embraces the TM specification of the UML class diagram and the internal structure extracted from the UML use case. TMUML modeling introduces some of the advantages that have made UML a popular modeling language to TM modeling. At the same time, this approach supplies UML with partial model singularity. The paper details experimentation with TMUML using examples from the literature. Our results indicate that mixing UML with other models could be a viable approach.

In DC distribution systems, a TAB converter employing multiple transformers is one of the most widely used topologies due to its high power density, modularizability, and cost-effectiveness. However, the conventional control technique for a grid-connected mode in the TAB converter cannot maintain its reliability for an islanding mode under a blackout situation. In this paper, the islanding mode control technique is proposed to solve this issue. To verify the relative stability and dynamic characteristics of the control technique, small-signal models of both the grid connected and the islanding mode are derived. Based on the small-signal models, PI controllers are designed to provide suitable power control. The proposed control technique, the accuracy of small-signal models, and the performance of the controllers are verified by simulations and experiments with a 1-kW prototype TAB converter.

The recent scholarly focus has been directed towards the expeditious and accurate detection of salient objects, a task that poses considerable challenges for resource-limited edge devices due to the high computational demands of existing models. To mitigate this issue, some contemporary research has favored inference speed at the expense of accuracy. In an effort to reconcile the intrinsic trade-off between accuracy and computational efficiency, we present novel model for salient object detection. Our model incorporate group-wise attentive module within the decoder of the encoder-decoder framework, with the aim of minimizing computational overhead while preserving detection accuracy. Additionally, the proposed architectural design employs attention mechanisms to generate boundary information and semantic features pertinent to the salient objects. Through various experimentation across five distinct datasets, we have empirically substantiated that our proposed models achieve performance metrics comparable to those of computationally intensive state-of-the-art models, yet with a marked reduction in computational complexity.

Side-channel analysis (SCA) is a cryptanalytic technique that exploits physical leakages, such as power consumption or electromagnetic emanations, from cryptographic devices to extract secret keys used in cryptographic algorithms. Recent studies have shown that training SCA models with semi-supervised learning can effectively overcome the problem of few labeled power traces. However, the process of training SCA models using semi-supervised learning generates many pseudo-labels. The performance of the SCA model can be reduced by some of these pseudo-labels. To solve this issue, we propose the HWFilter method to improve semi-supervised SCA. This method uses a Hamming Weight Pseudo-label Filter (HWPF) to filter the pseudo-labels generated by the semi-supervised SCA model, which enhances the model's performance. Furthermore, we introduce a normal distribution method for constructing the HWPF. In the normal distribution method, the Hamming weights (HWs) of power traces can be obtained from the normal distribution of power points. These HWs are filtered and combined into a HWPF. The HWFilter was tested using the ASCADv1 database and the AES_HD dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that the HWFilter method can significantly enhance the performance of semi-supervised SCA models. In the ASCADv1 database, the model with HWFilter requires only 33 power traces to recover the key. In the AES_HD dataset, the model with HWFilter outperforms the current best semi-supervised SCA model by 12%.
