In this study, we examined the satisfaction level of J university's compulsory liberal arts subject with quantitative research. The results quantitative research are as follows. First, men are more interested in creative thinking, college life guidance and career path design than girls. Second, the level of satisfaction with the required liberal arts subject by grade was found to be without a statistical significant difference. Third, the satisfaction level of each line of learning was shown in the order of natural engineering, health and welfare, physical fitness, and humanities. The satisfaction level of the lines of learning was found to vary. Fourth, The satisfaction level of each campus was found to vary. The results of this study could be used as basic data to improve the college liberal arts curriculum, especially the compulsory liberal arts curriculum. The Chinese Geography Standards for Senior Secondary Schools(trial) was released in 2003. The Standards put forward some changes for senior geography education, the changes in geographical education are reflected explicitly and implicitly by the textbooks. The purpose of this descriptive study was to review of the improvement of Chinese senior geography education by analyzing contents organization and coherence of the new standards-based geography experimental textbooks. The results of study are as follows. The textbooks adopts a student-centered approach through the way of 'more chapter topics with slimmed contents' and by introducing four type activities, geographical inquiries. These student activities are implicity encourages students' active acquisition of geographical knowledge what they have learned in their real lives. The organic coherence of the textbooks' contents rests on the compulsory and the elective subject relating to diversification of the learning areas. The organic coherence between the compulsory and the elective subject rests on diversification of the learning areas. More, looking at the arrangement of the four basic concepts(population, resource, environment, sustainable development) among the textbooks, it was imbalanced by subject.
This study aims at comparing and analyzing early childhood education systems in both South and North Koreas and suggesting educational alternatives for integrating in various aspects based on it, in order to build directions of early childhood education system in the preparation of Unification. A comparative study on the early childhood education system in South and North Korea was done in terms of early childhood education, public education of early childhood. As a result, there were differences rather than similarities in many areas due to the differences of political ideology between the South and the North. First, early childhood is not compulsory, but becomes public in South, while it is partially compulsory and has an overall public system in North in terms of its compulsory education and Pulic education. Second, as a result of comparing operating systems depending on early childhood education institutions in the South and North, there were differences in various areas such as subjects of foundation, classification of age, operating types, etc. Third, looking at its administrative support system, two Koreas has a similarity of a overall dual system, but showed a specific difference. Fourth, its public support had a similarity that early childhood education is done free of charge in two Koreas. In light of the results of comparing the early childhood education system in South and North Korea, this study suggests the following implications. First, as part of an effort to restore similarities of the early childhood education system between two Koreas, a challenge that must be addressed with priority is to integrate early childhood education-nursery in the early childhood education for age 3-5. Second, we'll take an effort to include the early childhood education for age 3-5 in the basic disciplines with 'Making early childhood education public' being currently focused. In addition, we should an attitude to recover a similarity through mutual exchange and to have advantages of the early childhood education in two Koreas as a challenge of taking an effort to integrate the early childhood education in the South and the North various studies and debates, discussions will be made for the meaning of the early childhood education and the integration.

The results of this study were summarized as follows : 1. In the field of general subjects, the compulsory courses are composed of 10 courses(14.3%) in 9 subjects and show only one course in one subject in Korea, while those in Japan are composed of 11-12 courses(18.3-20.0%) in 8 subjects and present each level course of primary and deepening in course. 2. In the field of general subjects, the elective courses are composed of 60 courses(85.7%) in 12 subjects in Korea, while those in Japan are composed of 48-49 courses in 8 subjects. 3. In the field of specialized subjects, the compulsory courses for streams have 3 courses(10.7%) in Korea, while those in Japan have 4 courses (16.7%) 4. In the field of specialized subjects, the compulsory courses for departments are composed of 2-4 courses in Korea, while specialized courses for departments are composed of 4 courses in Japan. 5. In the field of general subjects, unit allotment of the compulsory courses requires the completion of 70 units (37.2%) out of total 188 units(excluding extracurricular activites) in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of 70-90 units(38.9-50.0%) out of total 180 units (excluding extracurricular activites). 6. In the field of general subjects, unit allotment of the elective courses requires the completion of 12-36 units(6.4-19.2%) out of total 188 units in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of30-50 units(16.7-27.8%) out of total 180 units. 7. In the field of specialized subjects, unit allotment of the major courses requires the completion of more thar 82 units in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of more than 60 units, so that the units of the complusory courses for stresms of both of the countries tend to show many differences and diversity in both zone and school. Based on these results, the research concluded that the Fisheries High Schools in the two countries make up nearly similar curricula, while in Japan general subjects carry more extensive choice of courses and higher unit allotment is provided for general subjects than in Korea. It was also concluded that the curriculum for vocational education in Japan intends to develop spontaneous, creative, and soft personalities for job. This study suggests that Fisheries High School curriculum in Korea needs to be improved to give students more opportunities for course selection and to help students adapt themselves to various kinds of job groups.
In Korea, primary school (also junior high school) is compulsory and free since 2004. But it looks high school is also compulsory, as over 80% of adults has a high school diploma currently. For 20 years improving high school education is only education-oriented, rather than occupation-oriented. And, the mismatch between the occupational requirement and the lesson from school is getting larger. To resolve this issue, the Korean government builds and utilizes National Competency Standards(NCS) to realize a competence-oriented society. With NCS, the government enables to run of a work-study program and tries to suggest the fundamental solution to improve occupational ability and the unemployment of young people. However, the prejudice against the education level and occupation is still engrained, and it is hard to match the education-career-qualification based on NCS. Therefore, we study NCS from the definition to the utilization, suggest an improving method to flexibly utilized the standards in the fields, and continuously improve and develop the NCS.
This paper aims at exploring the characteristics and meanings of religious freedom controversy surrounding religious education, with special reference to proselytism, in protestant mission school in recent Korea. Most of protestant mission schools have been providing students compulsory religion class and chapel service in the name of religious education. According to the school authorities, religious education should be provided for the realization of founding philosophy, and they say that mission school has the right to religious education. On the contrary, many non-christian students argue that their religious liberty is seriously violated by required religious education especially compulsory chapel worship. So serious conflicts broke between mission school authorities and students. Supreme Court decided that Soongsil University has the right to maintain compulsory chapel service, ruling that Daegwang High School should not maintain required chapel worship. It seems that Supreme Court gave different decisions to high school and university respectively, considering the differences between high school and university in application for admission to a school, students' critical consciousness, school's autonomous rights, etc. However, these precedents are being challenged by many peoples and groups. There are three agents which are involved in religious freedom controversy in mission school. The first are mission school authorities supported by religious groups, the second government supported by political parties, and the third mission school students guided by NGO. Among them protestant groups are playing the major role in making religious freedom problems in mission school. Protestant groups try to convert mission school students to protestantism by compulsory chapel service and religion class. Such a protestant proselytism becomes a cause of oppressing students' human rights and religious liberty. In this situation government has a responsibility to protect the students' rights to religious freedom. But government seldom impose sanctions on the protestant mission schools' compulsory programs. The reason why government does not restrict mission school's unlawful religious education is because protestant groups have strong influence in voting. Eventually civil movements organizations involved in religious freedom controversy for the sake of students's human rights. In conclusion, the assailment is protestant proselytism, the accessory is government, the victim is students in the religious education in mission school in recent Korea.

Objectives : This study aimed to analyze the College of Korean Medicine's education related to vaccination to examine the feasibility of Korean medical doctors administering vaccines. Methods : We conducted a comprehensive review of the guidelines from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCP) and the U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), along with the educational standards of Korean medical colleges. From these sources, key knowledge areas essential for vaccination were identified and distilled into 12 core items, creating a checklist used to evaluate the vaccination-related education. The curricula of Korean medical colleges and online continuing education courses for Korean medical doctors were analyzed using this checklist. Additionally, we reviewed the compulsory education course for vaccination providers for comparative purposes. Results : The analysis of common textbooks from colleges of Korean medicine revealed that while basic concepts of vaccination are widely covered, practical guidance on vaccine administration is less comprehensive. Continuing education for Korean medical doctors emphasizes basic epidemiological knowledge, vaccination contraindications and treating adverse reactions, but lacks details on patient education and the vaccination process. Compulsory education for vaccination providers covers extensive administrative content and comprehensively addresses essential vaccination knowledge, including patient education and practical vaccination procedures. Conclusion : The College of Korean Medicine's curriculum covers basic vaccination theories but lacks specific training in vaccine management. Additional training can improve Korean medical doctors' vaccination skills, enhancing the healthcare system's emergency response.
There has been a growing demand for spiritual education in public education in recent years. In fact, the concept of spirituality was included in the national religious curriculum in 2022. However, compulsory spiritual education based on the national curriculum is different from individual or private organization-based spiritual education which can be characterized as voluntary. This article aims to discuss the potential problems that may arise when making spiritual education compulsory in public education. This discussion includes the expansion of spiritual discourse and the scope of spirituality, the contents and examples of spiritual education, and the implications of compulsory spiritual education. My perspective on this topic is that the religious curriculum, being a national curriculum, should be applicable to all schools and learners. The channels for expanding spiritual discourse include studies for measuring each individual's spirituality or religiosity and spiritual tourism. Both exclusive and inclusive spirituality coexist within spiritual discourse. Furthermore, spiritual educators criticize knowledge-based education for its tendency towards romanticization, while overlooking reflective education in national religious curriculum. Additionally, the normative nature inherent in the concept of spirituality is often overlooked, despite the potential recurrence of problems seen in faith-based education. This article suggested that the minimum principle for the nation's religious curriculum should be that "religious or normative knowledge is not to be injected or delivered but rather reflected upon." This principle aims to provide an opportunity for learners to reflect on their religious experiences or lives subjectively. When this principle is applied, spirituality becomes the object of reflection and selection for learners. Above all, learners with reflective thinking skills will be able to live independently, even if their experiences and lives change. We hope that this article will serve as an opportunity to continually reflect on the form of religious education found in public education.
'Fun' may be a basic desire of all human beings, but studies that combine both education and enjoyment were very limited, with the exception of the sports and games subjects. As a result, this study focused on the fun induced from the actual site of education, beginning under the premise that this can increase the effectiveness of education. In particular, it has been concluded that more fun is especially required in compulsory education that disregards one's opinion, with the Social Service Personnel that are required to undergo two weeks of compulsory job training selected as the test subjects. In order to comprehend how the 'fun factor' from the Social Service Personnel' job training influences the educational effectiveness, the causal relationship between learning flow, group flow and learning satisfaction has been proven using the structural equation model. Through this, the median between fun and education was found, as well as whether fun education has an actual effect on educational effectiveness. In addition, it is an opportuniy to emphasise the need for enjoyable education for not just Social Service Personnel, but for all involuntary learners.

This research analyzes whether the curricula of the designated educational institutions which cultivate fishing vessel officers are properly coordinated to fulfill the requirements of an international convention and the designated compulsory courses. It also compares these with the educational curriculum published by the designated educational institutions in 2013 with the STCW-F Convention and IMO Model Course. The outcome of this research shows the curricula operated by the designated institutions fulfills the standard of The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. However, some of them do not meet the requirements of the STCW-F Convention and IMO Model Course. The compulsory coursework for marine technicians comprise 21 to 34 credits, compared to the 64 compulsory credits approved by maritime university. For the last five years (2008-2012), 555 out of 833 graduates have earned marine technician licenses, which accounts for 62% of the total. In preparation for ratifying the STCW-F Convention and in accordance with IMO Model Course and the minimum requirements of STCW-F Convention in the near future, improvements to the curricula are recommended.
