회전원판 전극에서 비활성 현탁분체의 복합도금 (Composite coating of Suspended Inert Particles in the Rotating Disk Electrode)

  • The composite coating of suspended inert particles $\alpha$-Al2O3 and copper from acid sulphate bath was investigated at the Rotating Disk Electrode. Effects of rotation speeds of electrode, physical properties of electrolyte, the size and concentration of suspended particles on the codeposition ratio of Al2O3 and the enhancement of mass transfer of copper ions were examined. Particularly, new experimental method for the measurement of the codeposition ratio was suggested and also the characteristics of the composite coating layer were measured by Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry. Mass transfer of suspended particles system were increased up to 40% more than those of without suspended particles system. Optimum conditions of current density, hydrodynamics of RDE, and particles concentration showing maximum codeposition ratio were appeared in our experimental ranges. It was shown that the suspended inert particles were codeposited mainly near the surface of the composite coating layer.

Efficient cell design and fabrication of concentration-gradient composite electrodes for high-power and high-energy-density all-solid-state batteries

  • All-solid-state batteries are promising energy storage devices in which high-energy-density and superior safety can be obtained by efficient cell design and the use of nonflammable solid electrolytes, respectively. This paper presents a systematic study of experimental factors that affect the electrochemical performance of all-solid-state batteries. The morphological changes in composite electrodes fabricated using different mixing speeds are carefully observed, and the corresponding electrochemical performances are evaluated in symmetric cell and half-cell configurations. We also investigate the effect of the composite electrode thickness at different charge/discharge rates for the realization of all-solid-state batteries with high-energy-density. The results of this investigation confirm a consistent relationship between the cell capacity and the ionic resistance within the composite electrodes. Finally, a concentration-gradient composite electrode design is presented for enhanced power density in thick composite electrodes; it provides a promising route to improving the cell performance simply by composite electrode design.

나노 Ruthenium Oxide 고분자 복합재료 pH전극 (Nano-Ruthenium Oxide Polymeric Composite pH Electrodes)

  • 금속산화물 고분자 복합재료전극 제조기법을 수소이온 감응성이 높은 $RuO_2$에 적용하여 표면연마가 가능한 나노 $RuO_2$ 복합재료 pH전극을 제조하였다. $RuO_2$ 함량 53 wt%을 가지는 나노 $RuO_2$ 복합재료 전극의 경우 나노 $IrO_2$ 복합재료 전극과 비슷한 수소이온 감응특성을 나타내었다. pH 1~9의 범위에서 이론치에 가까운 -58.7 mV/pH의 감응기울기, 1초 이하의 감응속도, 평균 $-57.0{\pm}0.3mV/pH$ (n=5)의 표면재생성, 장기 안정성 등 제반 특성과 전기화학적으로 활성이 높은 화학종에 의한 방해효과도 비슷하게 나타났다. 그러나 pH 10 이상의 염기성 용액에서의 감응기울기와 감응속도는 나노 $IrO_2$ 복합재료전극에 비하여 현저히 떨어지는 결과를 보였으며 이는 복합재료 매질 속의 금속산화물 함량에 따른 물리적 성질 차이에 따른 것으로 추측된다.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop V2Os-AC(activated carbon) composite electrode for supercapacitor. Supaercapacitor cell of V2Os-AC composite electrode with 25P70FLiCIO$_{4}$/PC$_{10}$/EC$_{10}$ polymer electrolyte bring out good capacitor Performance below 3V. The discharge capacitance of V2Os-AC(30:70) composite with 70wt.% AC in 1st and 200th cycles was 9.6 and 8.2 F/g at current density of 1m7/cm2. The capacitance of V$_2$O$_{5}$-AC composite with 70wt.% AC capacitor was larger than that of others. The coulombic efficiency of supercapacitor at discharge process of 1 and 200 cycles were 96 and 100%, respectively. V$_2$O$_{5}$-AC composite supercapacitor with 70wt.% AC content showed good capacitance and stability with cycling.ing.ing.

  • Carbon is an attractive material on electro double capacitor which depend on charge storage in the electrode/electrolyte interfacial double layer. Carbonaceous material for double layer capacitor can be obtained from carbon powder, fiber, film and porous carbon sheet. The capacitance of electrodes using an activated carbon was influenced by a filling density of the carbon, thickness and internal resistance of the electrode. In this study. to reduce internal resistance and increase electric conductivity of the electrode. activated carbon/carbon(AC/C) composite electrode was fabricated. The capacitors which have energy densities of 68F/g(at $30^{\circ}C$), 109F/g(at $60^{\circ}C$) and $68F/cm^3$(at $30^{\circ}C$), $111F/cm^3$(at $60^{\circ}C$) were fabricated by using AC/C composite electrodes.

  • A highly sensitive electrochemical detection method for bisphenol A (BPA) has been developed by using multi-walled carbon nanotube (CNT)-doped titania-Nafion composite modified glassy carbon (GC) electrode. The CNT-titania-Nafion/GC electrode exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity towards BPA. Therefore, the CNT-titania-Nafion/GC electrode showed improved voltammetric responses for BPA compared to that obtained with bare GC electrode. In addition, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), a cationic surfactant, was added into the BPA sample solution in order to accumulate BPA through hydrophobic interaction between CTAB and BPA. The CNT-titania-Nafion/GC electrode gave a linear response ($r^2$ = 0.999) for BPA from $1.0{\times}10^{-8}$ M to $5.0{\times}10^{-6}$ M with a detection limit of $9.0{\times}10^{-10}$ M (S/N = 3). The modified electrode showed good selectivity against interfering species and also exhibited good reproducibility. The present electrochemical sensor based on the CNT-titania-Nafion/GC electrode was applied to the determination of BPA in food package samples.

피롤/퓨란 고분자 복합체 전극의 전기화학적 성질 (Electrochemical Properties of Polypyrrole/Polyfuran Polymer Composite Electrode)

  • 유기 전도성 고분자들중 전도성이 뛰어나고 전기화학적으로 중합이 용이하며 안정성이 뛰어난 피로고분자(ppy)는 산화-환원 활성자리에 회합되는 이온종에 따라서 피막의 형태학적 구조가 다양하다. 그러나 공기중에서 쉽게 노화하며 잘 부서지고 물과 친하지 않은 단점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위하여 이 다공성 ppy 피막에 높은 개시전위를 갖는 퓨란고분자(pfu)를 끼워심기 중합한 Pt/ppy/pfu(x)전극을 제작하여 그 전기화학적 성질들을 순환전압전류법과 전기호학적 임피던스법으로 조사하였다. 이 때 사용된 도판트 이온은 $PF_6^-,\; BF_4^-$, 그리고 $ClO_4^-$이온 이였으며, pfu의 조성은 ppy에 대하여 0∼1.10 범위였는데 그 조성이 0.1∼0.2의 범위에 있을 때 가장 좋은 산화환원 특징을 나타냈다. 또, $PF_6^-$ 이온이 도우핑되었을 때 전하전달 저항은 다른 이온들로 중합된 것에 비하여 40배정도 낮았으며, 이 중층의 용량은 다른 두 종에 비하여 20배정도 큰 값을 보였다. 전하전달은 주파수의 변화에 영향을 받으며 물질전달에 의한 Warburg 임피던스 항이 포함되는 등가회로를 갖는다.

Electrochemical characterization of activated carbon-sulfur composite electrode in organic electrolyte solution

  • In this study, we present a more electrochemically enhanced electrode using activated carbon (AC)-sulfur (S) composite materials, which have high current density. The morphological and micro-structure properties were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Quantity of sulfur was measured by thermogravimetric analysis analysis. The electrochemical behaviors were investigated by cyclic voltammetry. As a trapping carbon structure, AC could provide a porous structure for containing sulfur. We were able to confirm that the AC-S composite electrode had superior electrochemical activity.

  • Electrochemical capacitors are becoming attractive energy storage systems particularly for applications involving high power requirements such as hybrid systems consisting of batteries and electrochemical capacitors for electric vehicle propulsion. Both of amorphous cobalt oxide and manganese dioxide were prepared by sol-gel process reported in our previous work. Nanostructured supramolecular oligomer of 1,5-diaminoanthraquinone(DAAQ) coated metal oxides were successfully prepared by electrochemical oxidation from an acidic non-aqueous medium. We established process parameters of the technique for the formation of nano-structured materials. Furthermore, improved the capacitive properties of the nano structured metal oxide electrodes using controlled solution chemistry. $CoO_2$ and $MnO_2$-based composite electrode showed relatively good electrochemical behaviors in acidic electrolyte system with respect to specific capacity and scan rate dependency.

  • IPMC(Ionic Polymer Metal Composite)actuators were optimized for producing improved forces by changing multiple parameters including repetition of number of plating, surface electroding and additive(PVP)-treatment on reduction. The platinum electrode is deposited on the surface of the material where platinum particle stay in a dense form that appears to introduce a significant level of surface electrode resistance. Actuation tests were performed for such IPMC actuators under a low voltage. The test results show that the lower surface-electrode resistance generates higher actuation capability in the IPMC actuators. In order to investigate relaxation behavior of bending and repeatability in dry condition, the IPMC was coated by$rubber(KRATON^{TM})$to minimize the effect of water evaporation from IPMC. This actuator can be used in air with surface coating to avoid membrane drying.
