Chronic fatigue refers to the tiredness which disturbs one's daily activities and lasts more than six months without the sign of improvement by rest or sleep. Male chronic fatigue is included in internal injuries due to overstrain and exhaustion and closely related to river, spleen, stomach and kidney out of five Jang organs. Male chronic fatigue is based on the deficiency of Yang and aggravated by liquor, sex and emotional depression. Chronic fatigue has the following features in Hyungsang ; an inclination for lying: unwillingness to everything; drooping eyes and feeble voice; yellow pale complexion; withered ears; redness on the tip of nose; cheekbone, and lips; blood shot eyes; dryness and loss of hair. Male chronic fatigue usually attacks the persons of horse type and bird type because they are hyperactive compared with what they eat. The following medicines are commonly prescribed for the treatment of male chronic fatigue. Ssangwhatang, Sokunzungtang, and Yanghyulsamultang are commonly prescribed to horse type. Jaumkangwhatang, Chungsimyunzaum, Yookmijiwhangtang to bird type. Palmiwhan, Gozinumja. and Shinkihwan to fish type. Bozungikkitang, Galwhahaesungtang, Samchulgunbitang and Sipjundaebotang to turtle type.

Sasang Constitutional Medicine (SCM) suggests the concept of health condition which is owned of different properties by each Sasang Constitution. But SCM theory has concentrate to explaining different symptoms that distinguish health condition, not much concerned with practical methods like face features, pulse diagnosis, skin surface properties and voice features. Physical properties of practical diagnosis methods from literature finding have been researched. As a result, complexion and face moisture were described to be physical properties related to health State. In scope of pulse diagnosis, depth, rate, contour, width and pressure are related. Skin surfaces' elasticity, moisture, fraction properties were also suggested as factors of health State of Sasang Constitution. We assume that this study would contribute further studies for objectifying and quantifying diagnosis methods to evaluate health state grades of Sasang Constitution.

Radix Angelicae Gigantis is sweet and pungent in flavor, warm in property. Its effects are tonifying the blood, promoting blood circulation, relieving pain and moistening the bowels. Its indications are blood deficiency syndrome characterized by sallow complexion, dizziness, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, pains due to blood stasis, and rheumatic arthralgia. Using genes of A. gigas, A. acutiloba, and A. sinensis, the origin of which is identified, as criteria, we analysed many kinds of Angelica with RAPD and RFLP on ITS region, in order to compare and discriminate genes extracted from crude drugs ‘Dang-gui’, that are produced in Korea on the one hand and imported on the other hand. We reached the following conclusion. 1. We could extract DNA from both original plant and dried plant. 2. Especially Uniprimer #1, Uniprimer #2, Uniprimer #4 and Uniprimer ＃9 were useful. 3. Among the restriction enzymes Sma I, Msp I, Hae III, and Hinf I, used in this experiment, four restriction enzymes except Hinf I could be used properly in discriminating all samples used as A. gigas. We think that this result can be used as a method of discriminating crude drug of Angelica L. related drugs, and used in controlling quality and circulation.

고무제품의 노화는 인간의 노화 처럼 오존, 자외선, 산소 등의 작용에 의하여 매우 복잡하게 진행된다. 노화에 대한 이해는 매우 중요하나 너무나 복잡하기 때문에 이에 대한 논문이 매우 드물다. 본문에서는 EPDM과 천연고무의 노화거동을 이해하고자 하였고 가황물과 과산화물 가교물의 노화거동을 서로 비교하여 보았다. 실험결과 파산화물에 의한 가교물이 황에 의한 가교물보다 노화면에서는 좋게 나타났다. 저자는 본 연구가 고기능성 고무 제품을 제조하는데 도움이 되리라 믿는다.

This study deals with the degree of enclosure on the Court Space in 'Suh-Won' that has warious perceptual composition elements. 1. The size of Court Space in which we can read the complexion of others and easily understand every behavior of them is similar to that of the 'Madang' in the Korean traditional houses. 2. The angles of elevation are within the range of suitable enclosure as going from the center of the court Space to 'Kang-Dang' and the space -from the center of the Court Space to 'Kang-Dang'- is restricted and surrounded. It is also within the range of the least enclosure as going from the center of the Court Space to the 'Mun-Ru'. 3. The degrees of enclosure based on the horizontal angle are within the degree we can perceive the objects of structure easily. 4. The degree of enclosure based on the ratio D/H is increased as approaching from 'Mun-Ru' to 'Kang-Dang'. The distance as approaching from 'Mun-Ru' to 'Kang-Dang' is changed from social distance to personal distance. To conclude this the Court Space in 'Suh-Won' represents the hierarchical system with variety and the degree of enclosure and the size of space are within the range of human scale.

Objectives In order to find out the relationship between the Eight Principle Pattern Identification of Cold-Heat, Deficiency-Excess and the Sasang constitution, we analyzed the clinical data from 500 women with menstrual pain and women without menstrual pain. Methods In the previous study, the subject's information of Typology Complexion Pulse and Symptom was collected, and Eight Principle Pattern Identification was executed based on this. Later, the relationship between the Sasang constitution and the Eight Principle Pattern Identification was statistically analyzed. Results and Conclusion 1. The obvious difference between the experimental group and the control group in the patterns of Cold-Heat and Deficiency-Excess is that patients who complain of menstrual pain do not maintain harmony with the yin-yang ratio, it can be said that the patterns of Cold-Heat and Deficiency-Excess can be a Identification standard that significantly obscures the condition of the disease. 2. There was a significant difference between the Sasang constitution and the Eight Principle Pattern Identification of Cold-Heat. There was no significant difference between the Sasang constitution and the Eight Principle Pattern Identification of Deficiency-Excess.

■ Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of The Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke and Intima-Media Thickness of common carotid artery(CCA-IMT). ■ Methods 100 subjects with acute ischemic stroke were recruited from the patients admitted to DongEui Medical Center from the June 2011 to January 2014. We assessed 100 patient's Common Carotid Intima Media Thickness data by B Mode ultrasonography. We investigated pattern identification of all subjects based on Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke-III. then, We analyzed their characteristics, risk factor, blood test result, life style. ■ Results We analyzed indicators of Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke-III by Common Carotid Intima Media Thickness difference. As a result, pale complexion, look powerless, drowsiness like to lie, heat vexation and aversion to heat were significantly higher in the CCAIMT ≧ 1.0mm group then in the CCA-IMT < 1.0mm group. ■ Conclusion According to the analysis, the Relationship between Carotid Intima-Media Thickness and The Korean Standard Pattern Identification for Stroke in Ischemic Stroke Patients were founded. To acquire more concrete conclusion on this theme, we need more research.

Background: Panax ginseng has been used to prolong longevity and is believed to be useful for improving skin complexion. Ginsenosides are the most active components isolated from ginseng, and ginsenoside Rg3 (G-Rg3) in particular has been demonstrated to possess antioxidative, antitumorigenic, and anti-inflammatory properties. The aim of this study was to examine the ability of G-Rg3 to inhibit melanogenesis. Methods: The effects of G-Rg3 on melanin contents and the protein levels of tyrosinase, microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF), and tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TRP1) were evaluated. Melanogenesis-regulating signaling molecules such as Akt and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) were also examined to explore G-Rg3-induced antimelanogenic mechanisms. Results: G-Rg3 was found to significantly inhibit the synthesis of melanin in normal human epidermal melanocytes and B16F10 cells in a dose-dependent manner. The activity of cellular tyrosinase and the expression of MITF, tyrosinase, and TRP1 were all reduced, whereas ERK was strongly activated. PD98059 (a specific inhibitor of ERK) attenuated the G-Rg3-induced inhibition of melanin synthesis and tyrosinase activity. Conclusion: Taken together, these results showed that G-Rg3 induces the activation of ERK, which accounts for its antimelanogenic effects. G-Rg3 may be a promising safe skin-whitening agent, adding to the long list of uses of P. ginseng for the enhancement of skin beauty.

피부를 통한 최적의 광투과 치료방식은 국소병변에 직접적으로 광을 조사할 수 있는 장점을 가지나 피부의 가장 바깥 부분인 각질부의 다양한 피부색상으로 인해 광전달 능력에 차이가 있고 다양한 환자에 따라 치료가 부적절 할 수가 있다. 본 연구에서는 피부 임피이던스에 따른 광조사 방식에 따른 일정한 측정을 하기 위해 피부 임피이던스 방식과 피부영역 추출을 통해 색상정보와 차영상을 이용한 방법 즉, 색상정보를 이용한 HIS와 YIQ의 성분이 가장 보편적인데 실험에서는 피부색상에 해당하는 각 색상성분을 탐색한 다음, 색상정보를 이용한 결과로 환자의 피부모델 영역검출에 따라 결과를 영상정보를 통해 개개인의 피부모델을 자동적으로 생성, 측정하여 피부색깔, 에너지, 파장, 폭, 조사시간, 펄스지연 등을 추출하여 원하는 최적의 모델과 특성을 조사하며, 피부 임피이던스에 따른 병변치료 펄스모델링의 기준을 구하였고, 피부부하에 따른 최적의 광조사 펄스모델링 시스템을 설계하여 제작하여, 피부칼라에 따른 적절한 치료펄스 데이터베이스를 구축하였다.

The following is the conclusion drawn from a review on the clinical cases cured by Jaeumkangwha-tang in perspective of Hyungsang medicine. Jaeumkangwha-tang originated from the modified Jibaiksamul-tang in 'Manbyunghuichun(萬病回春)' and applied to the diseases induced by flaming fire due to deficiency of Yin. In 'Donguibogam', there are two kinds of Jaeumkangwha-tang. One in the chapter of kidney is mainly prescribed to replenish the Jung of kidney and applicable to the cases with configuration and symptom of kidney along with fire. The other one in the chapter of fire is applied to the symptoms of flaming fire due to deficiency of Yin. The characteristics of the patients treated by Jaeumkangwha-tang from the viewpoint of Hyungsang medicine can be classified as follows : ① configuration: Dam type, Shin type, inverted triangular type(:天垂象), bird type, round eyes, thin lips, slender waist, thin leg, pretty face, sparkling eyes, prominent upper lip and upward eyes and nose. ② color : dark red complexion, red cheek bone, red lips and red glabella. ③ pulse : fine and fast pulse and pulsation on the Chuk(尺) in man and so forth. ④ symptoms: agility, talkativeness, pimpled face, crooked back, weakness to the heat of summer, light eating, timidity, blood-shot eyes, night sweat, cough, abundant phlegm, hemoptysis, bloody spittle, enervation, emaciation, back pain, flaccidity of lower limbs, involuntary emission, nocturnal emission, heat sensation in the chest palms and soles, anger, flush on cheek bone, red lips and dry mouth, reddish tongue, stiff excrement, scanty yellow urine, etc.
