  • In this paper, first we introduce a new notion of generalized Killing structure Jacobi operator for a real hypersurface M in complex hyperbolic two-plane Grassmannians SU2,m/S (U2·Um). Next we prove that there does not exist a Hopf real hypersurface in complex hyperbolic two-plane Grassmannians SU2,m/S (U2·Um) with generalized Killing structure Jacobi operator.

  • In this paper we give a new characterization of real hypersurfaces of type B, that is, a tube over a totally geodesic $\mathbb{Q}P^n$ in complex two-plane Grassmannians $G_2(\mathbb{C}^{m+2})$, where m = 2n, with the Reeb vector $\xi$ belonging to the distribution $\mathfrak{D}$, where $\mathfrak{D}$ denotes a subdistribution in the tangent space $T_xM$ such that $T_xM$ = $\mathfrak{D}{\bigoplus}\mathfrak{D}^{\bot}$ for any point $x{\in}M$ and $\mathfrak{D}^{\bot}=Span{\xi_1,\;\xi_2,\;\xi_3}$.

  • In the present study, we investigate generic lightlike submanifolds of indefinite nearly Kaehler manifolds. After proving the existence of generic lightlike submanifolds in an indefinite generalized complex space form, a non-trivial example of this class of submanifolds is discussed. Then, we find a characterization theorem enabling the induced connection on a generic lightlike submanifold to be a metric connection. We also derive some conditions for the integrability of distributions defined on generic lightlike submanifolds. Further, we discuss the non-existence of mixed geodesic generic lightlike submanifolds in a generalized complex space form. Finally, we investigate totally umbilical generic lightlike submanifolds and minimal generic lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite nearly Kaehler manifold.

  • World Health Organization reported that heart-related diseases such as coronary artery stenoses show the highest occurrence rate which may cause heart attack. Using Computed Tomography angiography images will allow radiologists to detect and have intervention by creating 3D roadmapping of the vessels. However, it is often complex and difficult do reconstruct 3D vessel which causes very large amount of time and previous researches were studied to segment vessels more accurate automatically. Therefore, in this paper, Region Competition, Geodesic Active Contour (GAC), Multi-atlas based segmentation and Active Shape Model algorithms were applied to segment aortic root from CTA images and the results were analyzed by using mean Hausdorff distance, volume to volume measure, computational time, user-interaction and coronary ostium detection rate. As a result, Extracted 3D aortic model using GAC showed the highest accuracy but also showed highest user-interaction results.   • In [2] we proved that if the minimum of the sectional curvature of a compact real minimal hypersurface of CP$^{m}$ is 1/(2m-1), then M is the geodesic hypersphere. This result was generalized in [8] to the case of M is a generic submanifold with flat normal connection. The purpose of the present paper is to prove a following generalization of theorems in [2] and [8].

  • In this paper, we introduce metallic maps between metallic Riemannian manifolds, provide an example and obtain certain conditions for such maps to be totally geodesic. We also give a sufficient condition for a map between metallic Riemannian manifolds to be harmonic map. Then we investigate the constancy of certain maps between metallic Riemannian manifolds and various manifolds by imposing the holomorphic-like condition. Moreover, we check the reverse case and show that some such maps are constant if there is a condition for this.

  • This paper presents an active contour model for extracting accurate facial regions in complex environments. In the model, a contour is represented by a zero level set of level function φ, and evolved via level set partial differential equations. Then, unlike general active contours, skin color information that is represented by 2D Gaussian model is used for evolving and slopping a curve, which allows the proposed method to be robust to noise and varying pose. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed method it was tested with several natural scenes, and the results were compared with those of geodesic active contours. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method.

  • In this paper we give a characterization of real hypersurfaces of type (A) in a complex two-plane Grassmannian $G_2(\mathbb{C}^{m+2})$ which is a tube over a totally geodesic $G_2(\mathbb{C}^{m+1})$ in $G_2(\mathbb{C}^{m+2})$, in terms of two commuting conditions related to the normal Jacobi operator and the shape operator.

  • 본 논문에서는 마르코프 결정 문제 (Markov decision problem)의 풀이 효율을 잴 수 있는 척도를 알아보기 위해 복잡계 네트워크 (complex network) 의 관점에서 MDP를 하나의 그래프로 나타내고, 그 그래프의 위상학적 성질들을 여러 네트워크 척도 (network measurements)들을 이용하여 측정하고 그 MDP의 풀이 효율과의 관계를 분석하였다. 실세계의 여러 문제들이 MDP로 표현될 수 있고, 모델이 알려진 경우에는 평가치 반복(value iteration)이나 모델이 알려지지 않은 경우에도 강화 학습(reinforcement learning) 알고리즘등을 사용하여 풀 수 있으나, 이들 알고리즘들은 시간 복잡도가 높아 크기가 큰 실세계 문제에 적용하기 쉽지 않다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 제안된 것이 MDP를 계층적으로 분할하거나, 여러 단계를 묶어서 수행하는 등의 시간적 추상화(temporal abstraction) 방법들이다. 시간적 추상화를 도입할 경우 MDP가 보다 효율적으로 풀리는 꼴로 바뀐다는 사실에 착안하여, MDP의 풀이 효율을 네트워크 척도를 이용하여 측정할 수 있는 여러 위상학적 성질들을 기반으로 분석하였다. 다양한 구조와 파라미터를 가진 MDP들을 사용해 네트워크 척도들과 MDP의 풀이 효율간의 관계를 분석해 본 결과, 네트워크 척도들 중 평균 측지 거리 (mean geodesic distance) 가 그 MDP의 풀이 효율을 결정하는 가장 중요한 기준이라는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

  • To store hydrogen with high pressure is one of key technologies in developing FCVs (fuel cell vehicles). Especially, metal lined composite structure, which is called Type 3, is expected to effectively stand highly pressurized hydrogen since it has high specific strength and stiffness as well as excellent storage ability. However, it has many difficulties to design Type 3 vessels because of their complex geometry, fabrication process variables, etc. In this study, therefore, optimal design of Type 3 vessels was performed in consideration of such actual circumstances using genetic algorithm. Additionally, detailed finite element analysis was followed for the optimal result.
