국내 고층 주상복합 건물의 구조적 특성에 관한 조사 연구 (An Investigative Study on the Structural Characteristics of High-Rise Complexes in Korea)

  • Recently, the interest in a complex building increases rapidly in Korea. High-rise complex is not simply the combination of a residential apartment and a business office as previous but a building with the object of the convenience of the residents familiar with city-life style through adapting the high class life style and new residential culture to the business space, and the efficiency in using the limited building site in the town. This study presents an exploratory analysis focusing the structural system with the help of the extensive survey of the construction site in Korea, and aims a guideline for the structural design and construction of high rise complex. Through the survey, change and development in the design and the construction can be seen as the height and size of the complex grow. It is almost indispensable to design a structural system against lateral forces like earthquake or wind, which is usually measured by story drift ratio or story displacement. Improvement of the structural materials and their usages is also included for the efficiency of the structural system. Useful slab-beam system contributing to the decrease of the story height is still a concern.

복합기 커버 개폐용 힌지의 설계와 구조 해석 (Design and Structural Analysis on the Open and Close Hinge for Complex Machine)

  • As all kind of industry has developed, metal structure and machine instrument use bolt, pin, rivet and welding for assembly and combination. For pin and hinge, dimension accuracy is crucial to keep the operation and safety of the structure and machine instrument. In case of complex machine, the hinge for cover open-loop system is one of the significant design elements. Most of the hinges are being imported and assembled sine they give high technology development cost for its unit cost position. The reason is that the localization of hinge is inadequate. As the demand increase and the necessity of localization grow, it is now more important than ever to develop low cost structure. By the low cost structure, a new technology could be obtained for electronic product and structural hinge since it would enable for complex machine hinge to be guaranteed, technologically. Open-loop hinge is the link type and designed for the structure to keep constant open-loop. And, the hinge is examined in design stability by finite element analysis method. In this paper, the operation result is presented when the hinge for complex machine open-loop is designed for link type structure.

  • The purpose of this case study is to analyze stack effect problems and to develop methods minimizing methods of stack effect in the tall complex building in cold climates. The main problems in the tall complex building occur in high-rise elevators. Such problems as elevator doors that do not close and exhaust airflows result in excessive pressure differences across elevator doors due to stack effect. Under the expected conditions causing these pressure differences, computer simulations with CONTAMW computer program and field measurements are performed in the tall complex building. The results are analyzed in architectural design aspects. With these analysis, the tall complex building design guidelines to minimize stack effect are proposed.

Engineering Applications of Jet Impingement Associated with Vertical Launching System Design

  • In the course of missile system design, jet plume impingement is encountered in designing airframe as well as launchers, requiring careful investigation of its effect on the system. In the present paper, recent works on such topic are presented to demonstrate usefulness of CFD results in helping design the hardware. The jet impinging flow structure exhibits such complex nature as shock shell, plate shock and Mach disk depending on the flow parameters. The main parameters are the ratio of the jet pressure to the ambient pressure and the distance between the nozzle and the wall. In the current application, the nozzle contour and the pressure ratio are held fixed, but the jet impinging distance is varied to illuminate the characteristics of the jet plume with the distance. The same methodology is then applied to a complex vertical launcher system (VLS), capturing its flow structure and major design parameter. These applications involving jets are thus hoped to demonstrate the usefulness and value of CFD in designing a complex structure in the real engineering environment.

  • Mekuro-Kazoen BLDG. is complex of office, hotel, hotel, and banquet hall, built in 1991, Tokyo, Japan. This building suggest us various issue about the representation of traditionality in current architecture. We can find the possibility of representation of traditionality in large complex, in past, rarely applicated. Even in Japan, such trial in official building as New Office Building of Tokyo in Sinzuku shows a application only in the elevation plan. In Mekuro-Kazoen BLDG. the application of traditionality are fond not only in external appearance, but also in interior design. And the modernity and traditionality in this building are represented simultaneously not deterioating each other. the issues of representation of traditionality in interior design should be succeed not only in now but also in future. The method of application need to be studied and improved. The fields of application also should be extended such as large complex buildings and future-oriented buildings.

  • New towns and large multi-family housing complexes are being built in the capital region of Korea, with the goal of creating safe and pedestrian-friendly cities. Traffic accidents in such residential complexes, however, is on the rise, creating social problems. While there have been many previous studies on problems with pedestrian environment; there is a dearth of studies that take design-based approach to ensure safety in pedestrian environment within residential complexes. Therefore, this study aims to prevent traffic accidents by properly planning pedestrian environment within multi-family housing complexes, in addition to emphasizing theories related to planning safer pedestrian environment in general. This study found the following design directions required to improve the design theory of pedestrian safety in multi-family housing complexes: (1) Linking traffic facilities and residential complex spaces in Korea; (2) Considering implementation of United Kingdom road systems; (3) Establishing appropriate objectives for each residential complex based on case study. In response to these findings, the study selected the A84BL complex in Hwaseong Dongtan 2 Complex located in Dongtan-myeon, Hwaseong-si in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. Items that can be implemented, as well as spatial design directions, were discussed with a focus on private vehicles, pedestrians, and service vehicles.

  • Community facilities in apartment complex was developed through combination with residents' needs about housing environmental amenity, marketing competition among construction companies and social trend 'Well-being' . But community facilities and fitness center which are situated in the beginning are alienated by residents because the designers plan community facilities without considering about residents' life-style and preference. In this paper, the study includes present status of fitness center and residents' preference for proper fitness center design. The result presents that fitness center users in apartment complex want a resting space which is already located in fitness center of mixed-use residential building. A resting space provides conditions that users can make up with the community each other as well as they can rest after exercise. And the fitness center users prefer wood as interior finish material of floor and wall in exercising space and resting space because they have a feeling comfortable and splendid.

  • As information telecommunication industry develops and systems get integrated gradually, the importance of embedded software is growing significantly. On the contrary, the reliability of embedded software has worsened. Accordingly, testing of software is an essential part in designing and building up embedded system and the volume of testing required is immense. This paper elaborates on design and testing model for complex embedded software, providing guidelines to collect requirements for complex embedded software.

복합 Ferrite 전파흡수체의 설계방안 (Design of Ferrite Composite Microwave Absorber)

  • The impedance matching solution map is not a sufficient method for designing the broad-band absorber because of its difficulty to get numerical data about practical band-width. Therefore, we develope a new method to design the broad-band absorber. The complex permeability limits, which is necessary for designing the broad-band absorber in C-X band (4 GHz~12.4 GHz) were investigated and application was also examined. The complex permeability limits represent the frequency dependence of the complex permeability at a practical frequency band. These complex permeability limits can be used effectively to design broad-band single-layered absorber because they offer numerical data about the band-width in the case of various dielectric loss tangent, practical frequency bands and permitted reflection losses of an absorber.

  • 현대사회에서 라이프 스타일의 변화로 복합문화공간에 대한 수요가 높아지고 다양한 복합문화공간이 생겨나고 있다. 그러나 아직 사용자 중심에서의 복합문화공간 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 복합문화공간의 다양한 문화체험 기능과 사용자 경험이 올바르게 전달되고 있는지 알아보기 위해 국내 대표 복합문화공간인 '별마당 도서관'과 '아크앤북'을 비교하여 분석하였다. 연구 방법으로 사용자 경험 분석 도구와 심층 인터뷰를 하였다. 그 결과, 두 공간 모두 상업 공간과 브랜드 도서관이 조화롭지 않다는 반응을 보였고, 복합문화공간의 서비스 이용이 일부 불편하다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 이는 현재 복합문화공간이 제공하는 체험 가치와 사용성에 개선의 조치가 필요하다는 결과로 해석되며, 본 연구를 기반으로 향후 복합문화공간의 발전에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.
