The Effect of Global Marketing Capabilities on Export Outcomes of Korean Startup Firms (스타트업 기업의 국제마케팅역량이 수출성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is to explore the ways to increase the export performance of start-up companies, as opportunities are rising along with more companies entering the global market. Thus the study analyzed the factors affecting export performance of the start-up company by mainly looking at the international marketing capabilities of enterprises type of marketing strategy and internal environmental capabilities. The following were derived as factors for marketing 4P strategy: innovation of product, flexibility of export price, differentiation of distribution channels, diversity of promotional activities, and positive-ness of promotion. For internal capabilities of enterprises, innovation of CEO, initiative of CEO, risk susceptibility of CEO, information power of export market, and information power of competitor were derived as factors. Two types of performances were considered for export performance, financial and non-financial. Among innovation of product and risk susceptibility of CEO the non-financial performance of export performance, and only differentiation of distribution channels of marketing 4p strategy the financial performance. It showed that since performance was different depending on the entrepreneurship of the CEO, only innovative products differentiated from small and medium enterprises. risk susceptibility of CEO increased export outlook by corporate acknowledgment and image, creation of potential customers, and financial performance affected only differentiation in distribution channel rather than entrepreneurial spirit, information power, or organizational flexibility because of short business career and insufficient period enough to gain trust. Therefore, start-up companies need to improve their non-financial export performance by increasing innovation of product and risk susceptibility of the CEO. The companies need to widen the differentiation of distribution channels in the financial export performance.

  • With the developments in the areas of IT and internet, the portal sites have provided a variety of services. The explosive growth of portal sites based on IR services has a great influence on information services and types of information provided typically by libraries. Because of various and useful information services, information users consider portal sites as a more useful information resource. With the user's changes in information resource the portal sites can be a threatening competitor to libraries as a information resource. To deal successfully environmental changes around libraries. IR agency service can be best solution. IR agency service is a sort of more advanced and expanded information services for information users who can not connect to internet or has no skill on IT area. In this paper, information users' opinion on their internet using behavior and IR agency service was collected and analyzed. Based on the result of survey. this paper proposes how to provide IR agency service and its expecting effect for libraries, especially public libraries.

On the Application of the Islamic Patterns to the Textile Design (이슬람 예술에 표현된 패턴 특징과 텍스타일디자인에의 활용)

  • This study was analyzed three basic patterns of the Islamic arts. These are natural flora, geometrical and calligraphy pattern. Islamic belief in Aniconism, doctrine of unity and worship of arabic language demanded delicate, decorative, and abstract patterns instead of patterns of real image. Natural flora pattern was classified into arabesque and various flower patterns. Muhammad commands that "The artist who fashions a representation of living things is competitor of God and therefore destined to eternal damnation, so if you want to represent living things, you should only depict flowers and trees". Then the natural flora patterns developed into main Islamic pattern. Geometric pattern was composed of geometrical elements like, circle, trigon, square, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon, octagon or other polygons, stars or motifs with straight or curved lines. Circle symbolized ′celestial′ sphere and crystal of the lower octagon symbolized ′earthly existence′. Therefore if the circle join with the octagons, it means fusion of celestial and earthly existence. Another important influence on the Islamic art was the calligraphy pattern, the writing of Arabic language. The major language of calligraphy pattern was Arabic script and often Persian script. Calligraphy pattern was composed of Kufic and Cursive script. The cursive script was developed various forms. The Islamic tenet prohibit depiction of sacred images, the sacred Arabic calligraphy such as ′Alla′ or ′Mohammad′ was substituted of them. And the content of calligraphy pattern was used with Quranic phrases. The aesthetics of Islamic patterns analyzed aesthetic of ′rhythmic lines′, aesthetic of ′unity in multiplicity′, aesthetic of tessellation and aesthetic of harmony. On the textiles of the Islamic culture, the arabesque, floral, geometric and calligraphy patterns were frequently used.

Rapid Enumeration of Salmonella spp. in Contaminated Pork Meat Using Competitive PCR (Competitive PCR을 이용한 돼지고기 오염 살모넬라의 신속 계수)

  • In this study, the competitive polymerase chain reaction (cPCR) was used to develop a direct enumeration method of Salmonella spp. in pork meat. After comparing three DNA extraction methods, the modified guanidine thiocyanate-phenol-chloroform method was chosen for Salmonella DNA extraction in artificially inoculated pork meat. The previously reported 284-bp invA gene (Rahn et al. Mol. Cell. Probes 1992) was tested for specificity, and 57 Salmonella strains and 24 non-Salmonella strains were evaluated. All Salmonella strains tested were invA positive, and all non-Salmonella strains produced no false positive amplification products. The detection limit achieved was as low as 1,460 colony-forming units (cfu) per 0.1g of pork meat. For cPCR, the invA gene, which features a 82 bp-deletion, was cloned in the pGEM-4Z vector. A known amount of competitor DNA, which has the same primer binding sites, was co-amplified with Salmonella chromosomal DNA from the artificially inoculated pork meat. The cell-number determined by cPCR was approximately equal to the cfu from the most probable number (MPN) method. Finally, the whole procedure took only 5 hr.

Comparison of the Effects of Government Subsidies on Labor Productivity Improvement (정부 보조금의 노동생산성 향상 효과 비교)

  • This paper analyzes and compares the effects of various government subsidies to improve labor productivity. Laborers are differentiated in learning ability, and duopsonists in the labor market sequentially determine the quality levels and wages of employed laborers in a two-stage noncooperative game under perfect information. If a subsidy is given to the advanced firm in quality and productivity of labor, that firm will prefer to intensify wage competition due to strengthening its competitiveness in the labor market, and attempt to lower its quality in order to reduce the degree of differentiation in quality. At that time, the other firm wants to avoid competition because of its weakened competitiveness, and may have an incentive to lower the quality level to expand the differentiation. If the government subsidizes low-quality and low-productivity firm, it is motivated to increase its quality level to reduce differentiation due to the strengthening of competitiveness, and its competitor has an incentive to improve the quality to expand the differentiation. And there is no significant difference in whether payments are made to laborers or firms.

A Study of the Trait of Leadership Failure Using Failure Knowledge (실패지식을 활용한 리더십 실패 특성 도출에 관한 연구)

  • It is tried to draw the failure traits of leadership by extracting leadership parts from previous failure studies and including some parts which mention failure leadership among leadership-related books. All of 5 patterns are drawn through total 13 types of study data. From 'insensitive to change' and authoritarianism which is mentioned 8 times in such 13 studies, to 'interpersonal problem', which is mentioned five times, traits which are mentioned at least five times are selected. There are drawn 5 traits including ${\Delta}$ authoritarianism ${\Delta}insensitive$ to change ${\Delta}lack$ of executive ability ${\Delta}populism$ and ${\Delta}interpersonal$ problem. As being examined in these 5 types of failure traits, the failure of leadership is ultimately happened because of communication heading for the inside without any communication(exchange) to the outside. That is, it is understood that authoritarian leaders don't perceive change correctly but make a wrong communication (populism) or break down communication. Additionally, the executive ability is to perform actually one's idea and to be achieved through incessant communication with members. Compared with other various studies to draw failure factors, these leadership traits have something in common. In the previous researches conducted the study of general failure factors, ${\Delta}adherence$ to preexisting business and resistance to change ${\Delta}unfeasible$ expansion strategy ${\Delta}blind$ faith in successful technology and innovation and ${\Delta}insufficiency$ to grasp competitor(consumer) are pointed out as the failure factors. It is deemed that these are happened because organizational management is headed for the inside without any communication (exchange) to the external environments. Matters unfolded through this paper until now are an attempt to apply the failure knowledge to a leadership part which is an individual field in business administration. It is considered that this study will be complemented through additional case study or quantitative analysis in the future.

Effect of Sulfate Reduction on the Hydrogen Competition among Dechlorination, Methane Production, and Sulfate Reduction (황산염 환원반응이 탈염소화, 메탄생성 및 황산염 환원 간 수소경쟁에 미치는 영향)

  • Batch experiments were performed to evaluate the effect of sulfate reduction on methane production and reductive dechlorination, both compete for hydrogen with sulfate reduction. Dechlorination was inhibited by sulfate reduction at lower hydrogen concentration because their threshold values for hydrogen are similar (2 nM). Unlike methane production mainly inhibited transformation of cDCE to ethene, sulfate reduction inhibited the initial dechlorination step, PCE reduction into cDCE as well as cDCE dechlorination. The presence of sulfate eliminated methanogens as hydrogen competitor because of its high threshold value of 10 nM. When sulfate coexisted with PCE, dechlorination efficiency was not affected by the increase of seed concentration as both dechlorination and sulfate reduction were stimulated simultaneously by the increased seeding culture.

  • This empirical study evaluated the 2016 Cheonan KIEMSTA(Korea International Exhibition of Machinery, Equipment, Science and Technology for Agriculture) based on an exhibitor's view. A total of 15 items of importance and performance were selected and 4 quadrants were analyzed for further analysis. The results revealed the following significant factors:concentration region with generating sales, exploring market opportunities in a new region, and meeting key decision makers; the Overkill region with collecting information regarding thecompetitor's product, demonstrating thecompany's capability, increasing staff's trade show experience, and training the sales teams; Low priority region with discovering new products, exploring export opportunities in a foreign market, and gaining an edge over competitors who are not exhibiting; and Keep up the work region bymaintaining relationships with existing customers, collecting market information, benchmarking competitor's position, introducing new product, and motivating sales people.

Competitor Extraction based on Machine Learning Methods (기계학습 기반 경쟁자 자동추출 방법)

  • 본 논문은 일반 텍스트에 나타나는 경쟁 관계에 있는 고유명사들을 경쟁자로 자동 추출하는 방법에 대한 것으로, 규칙 기반 방법과 기계 학습 기반 방법을 모두 제안하고 비교하였다. 제안한 시스템은 뉴스 기사를 대상으로 하였고, 문장에 경쟁관계를 나타내는 명확한 정보가 있는 경우에만 추출하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 규칙기반 경쟁어 추출 시스템은 2개의 고유명사가 경쟁관계임을 나타내는 단서단어에 기반해서 경쟁어를 추출하는 시스템이며, 경쟁표현 단서단어는 620개가 수집되어 사용됐다. 기계학습 기반 경쟁어 추출시스템은 경쟁어 추출을 경쟁어 후보에 대한 경쟁여부의 바이너리 분류 문제로 접근하였다. 분류 알고리즘은 Support Vector Machines을 사용하였고, 경쟁어 주변 문맥 정보를 대표할 수 있는 언어 독립적 5개 자질에 기반해서 모델을 학습하였다. 성능평가를 위해서 이슈화되고 있는 핫키워드 54개에 대해서 623개의 경쟁어를 뉴스 기사로부터 수집해서 평가셋을 구축하였다. 비교 평가를 위해서 기준시스템으로 연관어에 기반해서 경쟁어를 추출하는 시스템을 구현하였고, Recall/Precision/F1 성능으로 0.119/0.214/0.153을 얻었다. 제안 시스템의 실험 결과로 규칙기반 시스템은 0.793/0.207/0.328 성능을 보였고, 기계 학습기반 시스템은 0.578/0.730/0.645 성능을 보였다. Recall 성능은 규칙기반 시스템이 0.793으로 가장 좋았고, 기준시스템에 비해서 67.4%의 성능 향상이 있었다. Precision과 F1 성능은 기계학습기반 시스템이 0.730과 0.645로 가장 좋았고, 기준시스템에 비해서 각각 61.6%, 49.2%의 성능향상이 있었다. 기준시스템에 비해서 제안한 시스템이 Recall, Precision, F1 성능이 모두 대폭적으로 향상되었으므로 제안한 방법이 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

  • This study focuses on the use of competitive analysis to identify the effective benchmarking target through consulting techniques to derive improvements. After developed using DEA(Date Envelopment Analysis) the relative efficiency analysis tool for competitor analysis to apply in consulting on-site or within the organization, this study compared the new techniques and the existing techniques. This study was carried out as follows. First, through a review of the literature, consulting competitive analysis techniques and methodologies relative efficiency analysis technique DEA for research scholars examined. Second, DEA-based competitive analysis, multidimensional efficiency analysis is presented. Third, The case study was conducted to determine the suitability and practicality of this analysis method for public company "A".
