  • We proposed the method to take 3D image having correct depths to the front and rear directions when the stereogram was displayed to an observer through an optical system. Since the magnified stereogram by lenses was not given correct depth to an observer despite having the same magnified disparity. Consequently, we achieved our goal by relations of compensated disparities to both directions with magnification of lenses, viewing distance and base distance of viewer in AFIS.

  • To transmit the image data at low rate, motion compensated(MC) hybrid coding scheme is used generally. In this scheme since coder performance could be decreased when scene change happens, another prediction method must be employed. In this paper we present two prediction methods. One is using the mean of neighboring block which was already transmitted. The others is estimating the current block with the neighboring blocks. When the proposed methods are applied to the conventional Me hybrid coding scheme, it is found that SNR gain of 7 dB is achieved and bit rate can be also reduced above 30%.

  • A neutron detector, in general, can not be utilized as the thermal neutron detecting chamber in the nuclear power reactor, especially P.W.R. due to the characteristics of high temperature, high pressure and high neutron flux in a reactor vessel. We have performed an experiment to detect the thermal neutrons at 400.deg. C and high flux of thermal neutron in a power reactor. Coating boron-10 on the aluminium plates by means of surface diffusion method at 600.deg. C for 5 hours in an electric furace, also we made a typical chamber which was compensated ionization chamber filled with free air as an ionization gas. It was checked the chamber characteristics in the TRIGA MARK-II Reactor at the power level from zero to 250KW. The chamber current showed a perfect linear increase to power increase. However, many variation of the measured current were observed within the power of 50KW.

  • An obstacle avoidance algorithm for a network-based autonomous mobile robot is proposed in this paper. The obstacle avoidance algorithm is based on the VFH(Vector Field Histogram) algorithm and two delay compensation methods with the VFH algorithm are proposed for a network-based robot with distributed environmental sensors, mobile actuators, and the VFH controller. Firstly, the environmental sensor information is compensated by prospection with acquired environmental sensor information, measured network delays, and the kinematic model of the robot. The compensated environmental sensor information is used for building polar histogram with the VFH algorithm. Secondly, a sensor fusion algorithm for localization of the robot is proposed to compensate the delay of odometry sensor information and the delay of environmental sensor information. Through some simulation tests, the performance enhancement of the proposed algorithm in the viewpoint of efficient path generation and accurate goal positioning is shown here.

  • This paper presents a new intelligent digital redesign (IDR) method via the compensated bilinear transformation to design the digital controller such that the digital fuzzy system is equivalent to the analog fuzzy system in the sense of the state-matching. This paper especially consider a multirate control scheme with a predictive feature, where the digital control input is held constant N times between the sampling points. More precisely, the multirate control scheme is proposed that utilizes a numerical integration scheme to approximately predict the current state from the state measured at the sampling points, the delayed measurements. For this system, the IDR conditions incorporated with stabilizability in the format of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are derived. The superiority of the proposed technique is convincingly visualized through a numerical example.

  • This paper describes the algorithm for more fast tracking by compensation of the staring angle of antenna to receive the satellite signal changed by the mobile vehicle direction. The staring angle is compensated by signal processing from the electronic compass which is called VECTOR2X, and a left-right tracking method. Especially, when mobile vehicle is turning with high speed, it is observed a result which has more fast tracking time by using angle tracking technique compensated by electronic compass than one by only left right tracking method.

  • A new control scheme is proposed suitable for the three phase PWM converter having abrupt load variation such as a crane. In the converter used in a crane, the peak value of source voltage varies instantaneously due to the abrupt load variations. Such a voltage variation degrades the performance of DC-link control of PWM converter. To overcome this problem, load variations should be detected and compensated properly. We propose a new method for detecting and compensating the load variations without the additional hardware. With the proposed scheme, load variations are detected by estimating the current of DC-link capacitor. The estimated current information is feedbacked to a current controller to improve the performance. Additionally, the variation of source voltage is compensated using feedforward controller. The performance of the proposed scheme has been verified through simulations.

  • This paper describes a speed sensorless algorithm for vector control system with compensated stator resistance and rotor time constant of induction motor using a model reference adaptive system(MRAS). The system are composed of two MRAC, one is a rotor speed estimation and a stator resistor identification by back-EMF observer, other is used to identify rotor time constant by magnetizing current observer, so that the estimation can be cover a very low speed range with a robust control. The suggest control strategy and estimation method have been validated by simulation study. In the simulation using Matlab/Simulik, the proposed speed sensorless vector control system are shown to operate very well in spite of variable rotor time constant and load fluctuation.

  • This study proposes a controller with the techniqu e of voltage -compensated driver for producing grayscaled pictures on passive matrix organic light emitting diodes (PMOLEDs) panels; especially, the controller overcomes the problem of luminance nonuniformity on displaying pictures. Because the controller is a voltage type driver, the output impedance of the driver is much less than that of the current-type driver. Hence, the controller provides a better electron-optical response than those of traditional current drivers. An area compensated look-up table (ACLUT) is designed in data feeding paths for removing luminance non-uniformity; thus, the proposed controller provides nearly 95% luminance uniformity.

  • We have studied a novel vertical alignment liquid crystal cell. At initial state of a cell with rubbed parallel on top and bottom substrates, the vertically aligned LCs are twisted by $180^{\circ}$. However, after a critical voltage is applied to the cell, the configuration of the LC changes to optically compensated splay form, where the mid-director lies parallel to the substrate and thus the LC has two hybrid alignments around center.
