As a result of comparison analysis on body types of Korean women in their twenties and Korean women residing in Japan, the following results had been found. 1. The comparison of 49 items in physical measurements between the Korean women in their 20's and Korean women residing in Japan resulted in the differences in 33 items. 2. The comparison of the factor analysis results for physical measurements did not reveal big differences. 3. The comparison of the physical shapes according to the grouping resulted in three types each for both groups, with different features for individual types. Women residing in Korea were classified into tall and normal body, normal height with obese body, and short and thin body. Women residing in Japan showed different characteristics with tall and obese body, short and thin body and normal height with obese body. As a result of this study, identical ethnic group was found to take on different body types resulting from sociocultural differences and difference in eating habits if their place of residence differs for a long time.

This study was aimed at providing some information about Chinese adult women's body measurements and standard body types to the Korean apparel businesses who have advanced into the Chinese apparel markets, while endeavoring to localize their businesses, and thereby, conducing to development and production of women's apparel well fitting the Chinese consumers in terms of measurements and shapes. To this end, the researchers sampled the Chinese adult women in Beijing and Shanghai aged between 19 and 20 and therewith, surveyed their upper body measurements and changes over time and thereupon, determined their standard body types.

A comparison between the body types of Korean and Mongolian women was made and analyzed to provide a foundation for securing the Mongolian fashion market. 404 adults within the 18 to 24 age group were studied. From the results of comparing 27 items of direct anthropometric measurements, 15 items were shown to have significant differences. Mongolian women were larger in values for 13 items than were Korean women except two items, which are back waist length and arm length. From the results of comparing 25 items of index values, 19 items were shown to have significant differences. The comparison of the anatomical proportions showed that the lower half of Mongolian women's bodies were longer and their shoulder and hips were wider than those of Korean women. Based on these direct anthropometric measurements and index values, Korean and Mongolian women were categorized into 4 Types; Type 1 is average body type with tall height and longer lower half of the body. Type 2 is slimmer body type with average height. Type 3 is average body type with shorter height. Lastly, type 4 is obese body type with average height.

As a result of comparison analysis on body types of Korean women in their forties and Korean women residing in Japan, the following results had been found. 1. In terms of factors composing the body type, while women residing in Korea did not show large differences in obesity and horizontal size factors, women living in Japan showed higher contribution of obesity factor compared to horizontal size factor. That is, obesity factor was substantially more important among factors composing the body type for women residing in Japan. 2. Cluster analysis was done to understand the characteristics of body types and comparatively analyze them. Women residing in Korea were classified into tall and normal body, normal height with obese body, and short and chubby body. Women residing in Japan showed different characteristics with tall and obese body, tall and normal body with long lower part, and short and thin body. As a result of this study, identical ethnic group was found to take on different body types resulting from sociocultural differences and difference in eating habits if their place of residence differs for a long time.

The purpose of the study was to offer basic documents to the textile fashion industry by investigating changes of figures by various factors as each other social and environment. This study analyzes characterization and classification of body types of Mongolian men. 100 adult subjects within the 18 to 24 age group were studied. The physical measurements of the research subjects come up to a total of 63 items. Data was statistically analyzed with SPSS program using basic statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan-test, factor analysis and cluster analysis. The conclusions are as follows. In the result of factors analysis in physical measurements of Mongolian men, 10 factors such as the vertical size of body, on the obesity of body, the leg size, the bust from back length, the bust from front length, the shoulder size were extracted. The accumulated contributory rate of these was 73.86%. The cluster analysis for the comparison of the body types, by categorizing the body types produced three types. The comparison of 45 items in physical measurements between Korean men and Mongolian men resulted in the differences in 20 items. While the height items including stature between them showed negligible differences.

This research analyzes characterisation and classification of body types for the Chinese women and to compare the differences of body type with Korea women in university. The measurement has gauged in 1998 at Yeon-Gil University in China. One hundred of the Chosunjok college women aged 17 and 24 in China were measured for this research. In the results of frequency analysis a comparison of the anthropometric categories of the chinese women with those of the Koreans revealed that the Chinese women were shorter and more fat in body. In the results of factor analysis Both two groups factor 1 represented the degree of abesity while factor 2 indicated the stature and the arm length. For the Chosunjok the body types are classified into eight types but Korean has four types by cluster analysis The stature and weight varied according to types leading to a classification focusing on the body size determened by stature and weight factors.

This was a follow-up study to the 'Study on the Body Types of Chinese Adult Women I,' which looked into the body types and classified them into representative body type groups, with the subjects of the women residing in Beijing and Shanghai, and it intends to compare the features of the body types by the residential area of each age range. The results were as follows: 1. The measurements physical items of the women residing in Beijing and Shanghai were compared by the age range, and differences were found in all age ranges. In particular, as the age ranges got higher, the differences in the physical measurements were significant. 2. The comparison of the factor score for the women residing in Beijing and Shanghai by the age range indicated the differences in all the age ranges, and the differences were larger as the age got higher. 3. The comparison of the type distribution for the women residing in Beijing and Shanghai by the age range indicated the differences in their 30's and 40's, while any differences in the type distribution were not found in their 20's.

Mongolian women were grouped as those with the short stature and light weight, the medium stature and heavy weight, the tall stature and medium weight. The comparison of 50 items in physical measurements between Korean women and Mongolian women resulted in the differences in 39 items. While the height items including stature between them showed negligible differences, most of the length items relating to breadth, circumference, depth and obesity showed differences, which were big.

The purpose of this paper lies in the comparison of the body types between the subjects of Korean women in their 60's living in Russia and China. The findings are as follows. 1. The comparison of 80 items in physical measurements between the Korean women in their 60's living in Russia and China resulted in the differences in 57 items. While the height items including stature between them showed negligible differences, most of the length items relating to width, thickness, circumference, and obesity showed differences, which were big. 2. The analysis by using the physical measurements showed the differences in the number of the elements constituting the body types of the Korean women in their 60's, as 13 for those living in Russia and 11 for those living in China. 3. The cluster analysis for the comparison of the body types of each group, by categorizing the body types, produced three types for both groups. Koreans living in Russia were grouped as those with the short stature and light weight, the medium stature and medium weight, and the tall stature and heavy weight. Koreas living in China were classified as those with the short stature and medium weight, the tall stature and light weight, and the tall stature and heavy weight.

This study aimed to provide the Korean apparel companies trying to localize their business in the Chinese markets with some data about Chinese young women's body types useful to the development of the apparel designs fitting the Chinese consumers. To this end, the adult women aged between 19 and 25 living in Beijing, Shanghai and Korea were sampled, and thereby, their body sizes and types were measured. All in all, the results of this study confirmed that Korean and Chinese women in the early 20s had similar vertical body sizes but different horizontal body sizes. In addition, the body types were different between Beijing and Shanghai women groups.
