To achieve this purpose, this study analyzed the learning objectives and activity tasks of the dietary life units in the textbooks of 'technology & home economics' and 'home economics science' in Korea, and 'succeeding in life and career' in America using a content analysis technique based on Habermas's three systems of action. The numbers of learning objectives and activities of the units of 'technology & home economics', 'home economics science' textbooks of Korean high schools and 'succeeding in life and career' dietary life of American high schools were 3, 26, and 248, respectively. • An open office or a shared office is emerging as the emphasis on the collaborative and communicative work environments is increasing. In the past, the user maintained the space, but the maintenance of indoor space became difficult because there is no fixed user. Indoor space information can be collected using the ICBM framework system. The facility management can achieve this with data. Therefore, this study proposed a framework based on ICBM (Internet of Things, Cloud, Big Data, and Mobile) for verifying the possibility of a smart facility management system for indoor space. IoT (Internet of Things) technology was used to measure the indoor temperature, humidity, occupancy, and brightness continuously, and provided the data to Web API via WiFi. Data acquired automatically via IoT, existing maintenance data, and spatial information were integrated through the Cloud. Big data collected by sensors were processed as meaningful spatial information for maintenance. Indoor space information and maintenance information can be delivered to the manager through the mobile. Based on the collected data, room occupancy recognition is limited due to a range of ultrasonic wave sensors. On the other hand, brightness represents the space conditions. The difference between lighting on/off, weekday and weekend can be shown. The temperature data and the relative humidity data were collected steadily to evaluate the comfort.

  • Recently, one of the received attraction fields in web based service is 'Human Relationship Service' that is called SNS. This relationship map service is able to deliver information to user more easily and visually because it is intuitive data that is linked with offline real world. While past map service put physical real information in the map, present map service is evolving into new communicative platform that expresses social relationship beyond simple search platform that shows real world. In this paper, we propose smart social grid system using sketch map that is based on online map service structure. This system has features such as standardized interface provision for various SNS, use to governance hub tool in case of establishing a personal network through expanded social grid, a role of bridge to mashup software linked with other SNS, user environment construction that reproduces social grid data, and the faster service setup by improved search technology.

  • This study explores effects of two types of chatbots - voice-based and text-based - on Korean EFL learners' speaking competence and learner perception. Participants were 80 freshmen students taking an English-speaking class at a university in Korea. They were divided into two experimental groups at random. During the sixteen-week experimental period, participants engaged in 10 chat sessions with the two different types of chatbots. To take a close examination of effects on the improvement of speaking competence, they took the TOEIC speaking test as pre- and post-tests. Structured questionnaire-based surveys were conducted before and after treatment to determine if there are changes in perception. Findings reveal two chatbots effectively contribute to improvement of speaking competence among EFL learners. Particularly, the voice-based chatbot was as effective as the text-based chatbot. An analysis of survey results indicates perception of chatbot-assisted language learning changed positively over time. In particular, most participants preferred voice-based chatbot over text-based chatbot. This study provides insight on the use of chatbots in EFL learning, suggesting that EFL teachers should integrate chatbot technology in their classrooms.
