  • This paper describes how communicative technology between two classrooms located in different sociocultural contexts was used to support mathematics instruction. I analyzed what interactions emerged using the communicative technology, how sociocultural differences were leveraged to construct mathematical knowledge, and how students built this knowledge together across urban and rural classrooms. The results show that reciprocal interactions emerged. Teachers co-designed lesson plans and tasks with consideration of the different classroom social contexts. Based on those teachers' interactions, students had opportunities to justify their ideas and to prepare answers before the connected discussions, and a wide spectrum of ideas was synthesized as collaborative knowledge. These findings suggest that communicative technology has the potential to enhance learning opportunities for students across different social contexts.

  • The aim of this presentation is to suggest a method of integrating the teaching of pronunciation into a typical communicative classroom and on the web. This presentation seeks the way by analyzing useful communicative expressions with a speech analyzer for English learners to see the sound pattern of those expressions and say them right. It is hoped that this presentation will prompt teachers to understand the current role of pronunciation in communicative English programs and that the WWW can help students improve their pronunciation to develop their speaking and listening skills. It also suggests the need for a database of visualized communicative expressions.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve English communicative competence of elementary school students through an acoustic study For this purpose, this study investigates various postlexical phenomena which can be applied to utterence contents in elementary school English book and analyzes the application of postlexical phenomena through the spectrogram when native speakers and elementary school students speak English. The speech materials were seven sentences which contained various postlexical phenomena. This leads to the conclusion that knowing and pronouncing postlexical phenomena of English is needed for improving English communicative competence successfully.

  • Purpose: This study was to develop PBL packages geared toward fostering the problem-solving ability, self-directed learning capability and communicative competence of emergency medical technician students and to give some suggestions on the development of PBL packages of the approach based on the evaluation results of the packages by experts. Methods: First, real clinical situations that learners would be exposed to after graduation should be provided as examples when the packages are developed. Second, a variety of learning-facilitating tools should be offered to facilitate their understanding, because they don't yet gain plenty of clinical practice experiences. Third, they should be encouraged to have an energetic discussion in small group when the developed packages are applied. Conclusion: First, the packages developed in this study were just incorporated into some areas of a single course. In the future, the integration of an entire course or the development of a new course is required to attain the multiple learning objectives in the provided clinical situations. Second, this study attempted to develop the PBL packages to boost the problem-solving ability, self-directed learning capability and communicative competence of emergency medical technician students, and follow-up research should be implemented to finalize the packages based on the suggestions of the experts who evaluated them and to determine the effects of the packages.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of health assessment practical education through scenario on communicative competence, critical thinking diposition and academic achievement among nursing students' in university. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used to measure. A survey was held to the students who are taking a health assessment practical class for 2grade in J university in Chungbuk and P university in G-do. Participants in a health assessment practical through scenario class and traditional health assessment class were 35 experiment group students and 34 control group students who attended 16 weeks. Effects were evaluated through pre and post tests that included measurements. As a result, the experimental group is more capable of communicative competence (t=2,797, p=.007), critical thinking disposition(t=2,406, p=.019), ability to collecting information(t=2,977, p=.004), problem awareness competence(t=3.584, p=.001) has increased statistically significantly than the control group. Therefore, Therefore, this study could be used that health assessment practical education through scenarios to improve nursing students' communicative competence, critical thinking disposition, collecting information competence, and problem awareness competence.

  • In the context of the pandemic, educational institutions had to ensure an instant transition to remote technological models of communication within the new conditions of the educational environment. The purpose of the academic paper lies in determining the role of the communicative model of educational transformations in the realities of (post) modernity. The research methodology is based on a survey of 120 students from 10 higher educational institutions (HEIs) of Ukraine through an online form regarding the importance of live communication during a pandemic. Results. The communicative model changed significantly during the pandemic - the interaction was mainly due to technologies. The research has identified four communication models of educational transformations under the conditions of the pandemic, depending on learning models. The first traditional model of distance learning involves distance learning; the second model involves contact remote training using remote educational technologies; the third model is blended learning, which combines remote and traditional learning formats, synchronous and asynchronous modes of interaction; the fourth model is traditional contact training. The empirical study of the effectiveness of communication models proves that live communication remains extremely important for learning and understanding of educational materials by students, and technology has provided support for such communication. Along with this, seminars and video lectures with presentations combining live communication and communication technologies are as important as digital learning tools. The most effective teaching method for mastering and memorizing educational material was a live dialogue with a teacher at seminars in ZOOM, followed by individual written assignments on the studied topic.

  • This study aimed to determine the effects of simulation-based education in diabetic patient care to nursing students on their level of diabetic knowledge, clinical nursing competence, practicum satisfaction and communicative competence. The pre-post test were conducted to compare the differences in diabetic knowledge, clinical nursing competence, practicum satisfaction and communicative competence. The research data for the subject of study was collected from October 21 to November 1, 2013 in 3rd grade 75 nursing students. The student who had received the simulation-based education, did show significant increase in diabetic knowledge(t=-9.684, p<.001), clinical nursing competence(t=-4.173, p<.001), and communicative competence(t=-7.685, p<.001) than before. But, there was no significant different in the practicum satisfaction(t=-1.144, p=.256). Based on the above results, simulation-based education can enhance the nursing knowledge, clinical performance and communication ability of the subjects and can be applied to various education courses.

  • This study was conducted to lay the basis of the need of the self-directed learning ability, critical thinking, communicative ability, problem solving skills for nursing students by confirming the effect of problem based learning classes of nursing students. The data collection period was from March 1 to June 7, 2022. It was provided problem based learning classes to 165 nursing students located at B city. Problem based learning classes were conducted at total of 14 times, and 100 minutes/time. The collected data were analyzed using the frequency and percentage, Cronbach's α, mean and standard deviation with the SPSS Win 21.0 program, and the effectiveness verification of problem based learning classes was analyzed with a paired t-test. As a result of the effectiveness of the problem based learning class, the self-directed learning ability(t=-2.08, p=.039), critical thinking(t=-2.49, p=.014), communicative ability(t=-4.90, p<.001), problem solving skills(t=-4.84, p<.001) of nursing students who took 14 weeks of problem based learning was enhanced. Based on the results of this study, by applying it in various ways to first-year nursing students, it will be possible to use them to improve their competence, major satisfaction, and adapt to college life.
