Research of the Influences of Doujin Culture in Game Operation

  • Known as "The Ninth Form of Art", video game is a form of hypermedia art rising in response to the rapid development of modern technology, with millions of fans worldwide. From the perspective of the game market, those games that have high stickiness and a long operating cycle usually have abundant doujin works. As a spontaneous behavior of the players, doujin culture reflects the players' feelings towards and perception of the games, and it reacts upon the original game while relying on it, exerting a far-reaching influence on the operation of game products. We try to analyze the influences of doujin culture on game operation performance, hoping to provide game operators with some useful ideas.

Global Optimization for Energy Efficient Resource Management by Game Based Distributed Learning in Internet of Things

  • This paper studies the distributed energy efficient resource management in the Internet of Things (IoT). Wireless communication networks support the IoT without limitation of distance and location, which significantly impels its development. We study the communication channel and energy management in the wireless communication network supported IoT to improve the ability of connection, communication, share and collaboration, by using the game theory and distributed learning algorithm. First, we formulate an energy efficient neighbor collaborative game model and prove that the proposed game is an exact potential game. Second, we design a distributed energy efficient channel selection learning algorithm to obtain the global optimum in a distributed manner. We prove that the proposed algorithm will asymptotically converge to the global optimum with geometric speed. Finally, we make the simulations to verify the theoretic analysis and the performance of proposed algorithm.

게임 셧다운제도의 자발적 수용 및 확산방안에 관한 연구 : 우수성 이론과 심리적 반발이론을 중심으로 (A Study on Voluntary Acceptance and Diffusion of Game Shut-Down Policy Based on Excellence Theory and Psychological Reactance Theory)

  • Recently, a Game Shut-down policy, partially limiting the time for the use of online game service, has been implemented in order to protect the youth from the excessive use of games by limiting their access to games in the late hours, based on the serious side effects of online games on the youth. However, the effectiveness of a Game Shut-down policy becomes a social issue. Thus, this study aims to investigate the alternative policies through the levels of the communications suggested by the theory of excellence, for the successful implementation of the policy. As a result of the study, the government and students, the recipient of those policies, need to strengthen their two-way communication in respect of the Game Shut-down policy, breaking from the existing views on the perception. The problem is that the current government's way of the communication for the Game Shut-down policy is one-way and it is aiming at achieving the objectives only. Thus, the communication in this manner will cause the side effect. 'the opportunistic violation of the system in the future', even if the students seemingly accept the system. Two-way communication will enhance the motivation for the voluntary acceptance of the system and lower the motivation for the opportunistic violation of the system. Thus, the government needs to strengthen two-way communication in the future.

게임캐릭터의 실시간 대화시스템에 대한 고찰 (A study of Communication System between each Game Characters)

  • 게임에서 대화는 기본적인 정보전달 수단으로서의 역할 뿐 아니라 게임의 진행에 관련하여 스토리텔링(story-telling)의 한 요소가 되고 있다. 대화를 통해 게임을 풀어가는 대화형 어드벤처 게임에서 대화는 커뮤니케이션 그 이상의 역할을 하고 있으며 MMORPG게임에서도 퀘스트(Quest)의 발생 및 문제해결에 대한 제한된 정보를 제공하는 역할까지 수행하고 있다. 몰입을 유도하는 매우 중요한 요소이지만 현재까지의 게임 속 NPC와의 대화는 기존에 마련된 게임시나리오에 근거하여 패턴에 의한 단조로운 이벤트 형식으로 구성되어 왔을 뿐이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 좀 더 사실적인 커뮤니케이션을 위해 인공지능 분야에서 사용되고 있는 자연어 처리시스템을 응용한 대화시스템에 대한 분석과 함께 이를 게임에 적용하는 방법에 대해 연구하였다.

인터넷 온라인 게임을 위한 서버의 분산구성 기법 (Distributed Server Configuration Scheme for Internet Online Game)

  • Generally, the internet online game systems are divided into two parts, clients and servers. The clients provide a connection with game server to each user and communicate between them. And, the server controls all clients by the game rules fairly and manages database systems to maintain the user information. In this paper, we propose a configuration method for internet online game servers using distributed scheme. To apply this method, we divide game server into three sub-level parts again. First part of game server is login server to establish the connection between communication server and clients. Second part is communication server to connect between clients and main game server during playing the game. And last part is DBMS that performs database independently. Our proposed scheme suggests that the game server operates very stable because of decreasing of processing load by distributed scheme. So, our proposed server configuration applies to similar online game easily.

Game Theoretic Modeling for Mobile Malicious Node Detection Problem in Static Wireless Sensor Networks

  • Game theory has been regarded as a useful theoretical tool for modeling the interactions between distinct entities and thus it has been harnessed in various research field. In particular, research attention has been shown to how to apply game theory to modeling the interactions between malign and benign entities in the field of wireless networks. Although various game theoretic modeling work have been proposed in the field of wireless networks, our proposed work is disparate to the existing work in the sense that we focus on mobile malign node detection problem in static wireless sensor networks. More specifically, we propose a Bayesian game theoretic modeling for mobile malign node detection problem in static wireless sensor networks. In our modeling, we formulate a two-player static Bayesian game with imperfect information such that player 1 is aware of the type of player 2, but player 2 is not aware of the type of player 1. We use four strategies in our static Bayesian game. We obtain Bayesian Nash Equilibria with pure strategies under certain conditions.

충동성, 부모와의 의사소통 및 인터넷 게임에 대한 기대가 아동, 청소년의 게임 중독에 미치는 영향 (Predictors of Children's and Adolescents' Game Addiction : Impulsivity, Communication with Parents and Expectation about the Internet Games)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relative effect of individual-, parents-, and game-related variables on game addiction. Totally, 1065 10 to 18-year-olds participated and completed questionnaires. Male students had more tendency to game addition than female students. No difference in the level of addiction, however, was appeared among elementary, junior-high, and high school groups, which means that many young children are already Same-addicted. More severely addicted children and adolescents showed higher level of impulsivity, more difficulties in communication with their parents, and more expectation of psychological gratification and interpersonal relationship through the internet games. The relative effects of these independent variables to game addiction were different among gender*school groups. Firstly, impulsivity was significant only in boys of elementary group. Secondly, for the junior-high group, communication with father and mother was important to boys and girls, repectively. Lastly, expected gratification from gaming itself mainly predicted high school students' game addiction, irrespective of gender. The findings of this study suggest that earlier intervention to young garners should be carried out. It is also indicated that parents' and teachers' role for guidance of the internet games would be different with children's gender and developmental stages.

증강현실 게임(식중독잡GO)을 적용한 식중독예방 교육·홍보 사례 연구 (A Case Report on the Prevention of Food Poisoning by Applying Augmented Reality (AR) Game (Sik-Jung-Dok-Jop GO))

  • 식품의약품안전처는 효율적인 식중독 예방 교육 홍보를 위하여 모바일 증강현실 게임인 '식중독잡GO'를 개발하고 식품안전의 날 등 11개 행사에서 시범운영을 하였다. 행사장에서 '식중독잡GO'를 체험한 사람을 대상으로 식중독에 대한 인지정도를 설문조사를 통해 살펴보았다. 설문조사 결과 '식중독잡GO' 게임 전후대비 식중독예방 3대 요령 인지도는 게임 전 51.8%에서 게임 후 78.8%로 향상되었고, 개별 식중독균 인지도는 평균 2.1배 향상되었다. 설문조사자의 95%가 식중독 이해에 도움이 되었다고 응답하였으며, 90%가 게임이 재미있었다고 응답하였다. 따라서, '식중독잡GO'를 유 초 중 고등 교육에 적용을 하면 식중독균의 주요증상, 원인식품 등 식중독 예방요령의 다양한 교육적 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

이동 로봇을 사용한 로봇 팔방 놀이 (Robot Hopscotch Game Using Mobile Robots)

  • 본 논문은 "로봇 팔방 놀이"라 불리는 이동 로봇을 이용하는 로봇 놀이를 소개한다. 이 놀이에서 이동 로봇은 정방형의 격자 단위들이 모여서 이루어진 놀이판 위를 이동한다. 이 놀이는 사람이 격자로 구분되어진 놀이판 위에서 뛰어서 격자와 격자 사이를 이동하는 팔방 놀이와 유사하다. 로봇 팔방 놀이에서 각각의 격자는 가시광 통신 장치를 가지고 있다. 가시광 통신 장치는 식별 신호를 송신하고, 격자 위를 이동하는 로봇은 이 신호를 수신하여 자신의 위치를 인식한다. 놀이 참가자는 로봇 또는 다른 참여자와 얼마나 빠르게 주어진 경유 격자들을 통과하여 목적지에 도착하는지를 경쟁한다. 이 놀이는 2008년 10월 16일부터 20일 사이에 COEX에서 개최되었던 로보월드(RoboWorld) 2008에서 참가자들에 의해서 사용되어졌다. 사용자들을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과 사용자들은 로봇의 모양이 친숙하지 않고 조작도 불편하였음에도 불구하고 놀이에서 재미를 느낀 것으로 나타났으며 로봇의 향후 활용이 늘어날 것으로 기대하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Analysis of Visual Art Elements of Game Characters Illustrated by the Case of Glory of Kings

  • Visual art elements can most intuitively express the information expressed by a game character and play an important role in shaping a successful game character. We compares and analyzes the role design in the skins of the "Five Tiger-like Generals" series in Glory of Kings in terms of color, line, graphic and other visual elements. Different visual elements form different visual impacts and influences, which brings people different psychological feelings and presents different emotional colors. The reasonable use of visual elements gives people a refined visual experience and a comfortable psychological feeling, adding more influencing factors to the "immersion" of the game. It not only can strongly attract the attention and love of players, but also spreads traditional culture of the nation and the country. Therefore, whether the visual art elements of a game character can be appropriately used is an important part of the success of the game work. The analysis of visual art elements of game characters has important learning and research value.
