STUDY ON THE PERTURBED PIECEWISE LINEAR SUSPENSION BRIDGE EQUATION WITH VARIABLE COEFFICIENT

  • We get a theorem that there exist at least two solutions for the piecewise linear suspension bridge equation with variable coefficient jumping nonlinearity and Dirichlet boundary condition when the variable coefficient of the nonlinear term crosses first two successive negative eigenvalues. We obtain this multiplicity result by applying Leray-Schauder degree theory.

  • We consider the nonlinear biharmonic equation with coefficient exponential growth term and Dirichlet boundary condition. We show that the nonlinear equation has at least one bounded solution under the suitable conditions. We obtain this result by the variational method, generalized mountain pass theorem and the critical point theory of the associated functional.

  • In this article we show that a class of random coefficient autoregressive processes including the NEAR (New exponential autoregressive) process has the strong mixing property in the sense of Rosenblatt with mixing order decaying to zero. The result can be used to construct model free prediction interval for the future observation in the NEAR processes.

  • This study was performed to suggest the mediocre prediction equation of chloride diffusion coefficient which is used to estimate the service life of marine concrete, in order to provide the useful data for concrete mix design of marine concrete. As a result, the mediocre prediction equation of chloride diffusion coefficient which set W/B and mineral admixture replacement ratio as parameters was presented by performing the multivariate non linear regression analysis.

  • The authors have developed the transfer dynamic stiffness coefficient method(TDSCM) which is based on the concepts of the substructure synthesis method and transfer influence coefficient method. As a result, we suggested the algorithm for free vibration analysis of beam-like structures which are mainly found in mechanical design by applying the TDSCM in the previous reports. In this paper, we extend this algorithm to the forced vibration analysis for them. And we also confirmed the merits of this method.

On Power of Correlated Superposition Coding in NOMA

  • We present the power of the correlated superposition coding (SC) in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). This paper derives closed-form expressions for the total allocated power with the constant total transmitted power. It is shown that the total allocated power is the function of a correlation coefficient. In result, the correlated SC NOMA should be designed with consideration of the correlation coefficient.

  • We obtain multiplicity results for the biharmonic problem with a variable coefficient semilinear term. We show that there exist at least three solutions for the biharmonic problem with the variable coefficient semilinear term under some conditions. We obtain this multiplicity result by applying the Leray-Schauder degree theory.

  • In this article, we derive a sharp estimates for the Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients of functions in some certain subclasses of spirallike functions which are defined by generalized Srivastava-Attiya operator. Several corollaries and consequences of the main result are also considered.

  • In the present study, an aerodynamic design optimization of UAV rotor blades was conducted using a genetic algorithm(GA) coupled with computational fluid dynamics(CFD). To reduce computational cost in making databases, a function approximation was applied using artificial neural networks(ANN) based on a radial basis function network. Three dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) solver was used to solve the flow around UAV rotor blades. Design directions were specified to maximize thrust coefficient maintaining torque coefficient and minimize torque coefficient maintaining thrust coefficient. Design variables such as twist angle, thickness and chord length were adopted to perform a planform optimization. As a result of an optimization regarding to maximizing thrust coefficient, thrust coefficient was increased about 4.5% than base configuration. In case of an optimization minimizing torque coefficient, torque coefficient was decreased about 7.4% comparing with base configuration.

Applicability of the HPLC Method for the Estimation of Octanol/water Partition Coefficient to Pesticides of Domestic Use (국내 사용 농약을 대상으로 한 HPLC 방법에 의한 옥탄올/물 분배계수 추정법의 적용성 검토)

  • Octanol/water partition coefficients of 52 chemicals were calculated using RP-HPLC estimation method and predicted by computer program, PCHEM. The result showed relationship between literature values and RP-HPLC observed values (relative coefficient r$^2$=0.916), but the relationship of PCHEM values with literature values was lower than RP-HPLC value (relative coefficient r$^2$=0.795). The average difference in partition coefficient between the RP-HPLC method and flask-shaking method was log Kow=0.54, while the average difference between the values predicted form the computer program and flask- shaking method was log Kow = 0.36 Compared to octanol/water partition coefficients by 3 methods (Flask-shaking, RP-HPLC, computer prediction), the octanol/water partition coefficient values based on the flask-shaking method were very similar to the literature values, while the octanol/water partition coefficient values by RP-HPLC method without to consider the dead time, and computer prediction values did not significantly differ with the literature values.
