Rainfall Adjust and Forecasting in Seoul Using a Artificial Neural Network Technique Including a Correlation Coefficient (인공신경망기법에 상관계수를 고려한 서울 강우관측 지점 간의 강우보완 및 예측)

  • In this study, rainfall adjust and forecasting using artificial neural network(ANN) which includes a correlation coefficient is application in Seoul region. It analyzed one-hour rainfall data which has been reported in 25 region in seoul during from 2000 to 2006 at rainfall observatory by AWS. The ANN learning algorithm apply for input data that each region using cross-correlation will use the highest correlation coefficient region. In addition, rainfall adjust analyzed the minimum error based on correlation coefficient and determination coefficient related to the input region. ANN model used back-propagation algorithm for learning algorithm. In case of the back-propagation algorithm, many attempts and efforts are required to find the optimum neural network structure as applied model. This is calculated similar to the observed rainfall that the correlation coefficient was 0.98 in missing rainfall adjust at 10 region. As a result, ANN model has been for suitable for rainfall adjust. It is considered that the result will be more accurate when it includes climate data affecting rainfall.

Study on Film Boiling Heat Transfer of Spray Cooling in Dilute Spray Region (희박 분무영역에서의 분무냉각 막비등 열전달에 관한 연구)

  • This report presents experimental results on the heat transfer coefficients in the boiling region of spray cooling for actual metallurgical process. In this study, the heat flux distribution of a two dimensional dilute spray impinging on hot plate was experimentally investigated. Based on the experimental results, they classified the heat transfer area into the stagnation region and wall-flow region. In the stagnation region, the local heat transfer coefficient relates mainly to the droplet-flow-rate supplied from spray nozzle directly, so the local heat transfer coefficients is good agreement with the predicted values from correlation for spray cooling proposed by former report However, the local heat transfer coefficient in wall-flow region is larger than predicted values, and it is found that the rebounding droplets-flow-rate must be accurately evaluated to predict the local heat transfer coefficient in this region.

  • The steady-state, incompressible and three-dimensional numerical analysis was carried out to evaluate turbulent models on the aerodynamic performance of a small-size axial fan(SSAF). The prediction performance on the static pressure of all turbulent models is going downhill at the high static pressure and low flowrate region, but has improved at the axial flow region. In consequence, all turbulent models predict the static pressure coefficient with an error performance less than about 4% after the region of the flowrate coefficient of about 0.14. Especially, the turbulent model of SST $k-{\omega}$ shows the best prediction performance equivalent to an error performance less than about 2% on the static pressure.

Characteristic Changes of the Changma Season in the 2000s

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristic changes of the Changma season in the 2000s. To accomplish this goal, we have used daily rainfall data collected over nearly 40 years (1971 to 2010). The average summer precipitation data including the Changma season were collected from 16 weather stations that are placed across the three major regions (i.e. central region, southern region, and Jeju region) as Korea Meteorological Administration divided. These precipitation data were analyzed to find out characteristic changes of the Changma season. Results of the precipitation data comparison among the major regions that, monthly average precipitation in the central region was the highest in July; its precipitation tended to increase from May to September. In the southern region, the precipitation amount was lowest in June and tended to increase in May, September, and August. In the Jeju region, the precipitation has been the highest in June and July for the past 30 years, whereas September has been highest month in the last 10 years. The precipitation amount in the Jeju region decreased both in June and July, whereas it tended to grow in May, August and September. A correlation coefficient formula by Karl Pearson has been used to find out correlations between the Changma season and the precipitation of the major regions in 2000s and normal years. It was found that the correlation coefficient has decreased from 0.723 to 0.524 in the 2000s (2001 to 2010) compared to normal years (1971 to 2000).

Determining Investment Priorities Using Aggregating Indicator of Regional Economic Effects: Case of the Offshore Project for Fishery Stock Enhancement (지역경제파급효과 종합지표를 이용한 투자 우선순위 결정 : 근해 수산자원 증대사업 사례)

  • This study attempted to propose a method of determining a project implementation area according to the purpose of the Offshore Project for Fishery Stock Enhancement after analyzing the regional economic effects in advance targeting the candidate regions for the Offshore Project for Fishery Stock Enhancement. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows: first, in comparison with the overall effect of the Offshore Project for Fishery Stock Enhancement to 2013, the production inducement coefficient increased by 0.08 in the region, but decreased by 0.39 in other regions and by 0.33 in the whole country. The value-added inducement coefficient increased by 0.01 in the region and by 0.06 in other regions, increasing 0.27 for the whole country. In the case of the employment inducement coefficient, the number of workers in the region decreased by 9.48 and increased by 0.3 in other regions, resulting in a decrease of 9.1 people in the whole country. Second, depending on the purpose of the Offshore Project for Fishery Stock Enhancement, an aggregating indicator of economic effects within the region, an aggregating indicator of economic effects in other regions, and an aggregating indicator of economic effects across the country were prepared to be used to determine the priority of the project implementation region. There was a little difference between the 2013 and 2015 regional rankings according to the standardization method, indicating that the analysis results were somewhat consistent. In conclusion, the results of this study may contribute to determine the project implementation area according to the purpose of a specific project after analyzing the regional economic effect in advance.

Relative values of absorption coefficient was found the largest peak in the range of $60{\sim}70kVp$ for sodium sulfate and 60kVp for iodine. Increasing the thickness of contrast media and patient, the values of absorption coefficient was rising.

  • A numerical method is presented which can solve the steady flow and heat transfer from a rotating and heated circular cylinder in a uniform flow for a range of Reynolds number form 5 to 100. The steady response of the flow and heat transfer is simulated for various spin parameter. The effects on the flow field and heat transfer characteristics known as lift, drag and heat transfer coefficient are analyzed and the streamlines, velocity vectors, vorticity, temperature distributions around it were scrutinized numerically. As spin parameter increases the region of separation vortex becomes smaller than upper one and the lower region will vanish. The lift force, a large part is due to the pressure force, increases as the Reynolds number and it increases linearly as spin parameter increases. The pressure coefficient changes rapidly with spin parameter on the lower surface of the cylinder and the vorticity is sensitive to the spin parameter near separation region. As spin parameter increases the maximum heat coefficient and the thin thermal layer on front region are moved to direction of rotation. However, with balance between the local increase and decrease, the overal heat transfer coefficient is almost unaffected by rotation.

MODELING FOR PROBING THE PHYSICAL STATES OF HII REGIONS (전리수소 영역의 물리량 측정을 위한 방출선 모형연구)

  • A diagnostic tool has been proposed to convert the observed surface distribution of hydrogen recombination line intensities into the radial distributions of the electron temperature and the density in HII regions. The observed line intensity is given by an integral of the volume emission coefficient along the line of sight, which comprises the Abel type integral equation for the volume emission coefficient. As the emission coefficient at a position is determined by the temperature and density of electrons at the position, the local emission coefficient resulted from the solution of the Abel equation gives the radial distribution of the temperature and the density. A test has been done on the feasibility of our diagnostic approach to probing of HII regions. From model calculations of an HII region of pure hydrogen, we have theoretically generated the observed surface brightness of hydrogen recombination line intensities and analyzed them by our diagnostic tool. The resulting temperatures and densities are then compared with the model values. For this case of uniform density, errors in the derived density are not large at all the positions. For the electron temperature, however, the largest errors appear at the central part of the HII region. The errors in the derived temperature decrease with the radial distance, and become negligible in the outer part of the model HII region.

  • This paper analyzes file stiffness, damping coefficient, friction force and flow coefficient of externally pressurized oil journal beating, including the effect of journal rotation according to the Sommerfeld number. This paper assumed that the oil in the whole pocket has constant pressure, and that the oil in the whole bearing region has constant viscosity, temperature and density. Reynolds equation is derived from Nuvier - Stokes equation and continuity equation. And solved bearing pressure by ADI method for whole bearing region and fitted with out flow rate of pocket region. The model for numerical simulation is hydro - static oil journal bearing for high-speed, high-accuracy lathe spindle.
