  • In this paper, we introduce and investigate an interesting subclass $M_{\Sigma}({\gamma},{\lambda},{\delta},{\varphi})$ of analytic and bi-univalent functions of complex order in the open unit disk ${\mathbb{U}}$. For functions belonging to the class $M_{\Sigma}({\gamma},{\lambda},{\delta},{\varphi})$ we investigate the coefficient estimates on the first two Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients ${\mid}{\alpha}_2{\mid}$ and ${\mid}{\alpha}_3{\mid}$. The results presented in this paper would generalize and improve some recent works of [1],[5],[9].

  • For a non-zero complex number b and for m and n in 𝒩0 = {0, 1, 2, …} let Ψn,m(b) denote the class of normalized univalent functions f satisfying the condition ${\Re}\;\[1+{\frac{1}{b}}\(\frac{D^{n+m}f(z)}{D^nf(z)}-1\)\]\;>\;0$ in the unit disk U, where Dn f(z) denotes the Salagean operator of f. Sharp bounds for the Fekete-Szegö functional |a3 - 𝜇a22| are obtained.

  • The mating systems of natural populations of Potentilla freyniana in Korea were determined using allozyme analysis. The result suggests that P. freyniana is outcrossing as well as employing vegetative reproduction by stolon (self-fertilization rate, s < 0.5). The values of the inbreeding coefficient of eight populations in Korea varied from 0.244 to 0.331, with an average value of 0.274. For eight natural populations, multi-locus estimates of outcrossing (tm) was 0.603 across 13 polymorphic loci, with individual population values ranging from 0.530 to 0.652. The relatively low outcrossing rates of some populations could be attributed to extensive vegetative reproduction by stolon and the isolation of flowering mature plants. Although P. freyniana usually propagated by asexually-produced ramets, I could not rule out the possibility that sexual reproduction occurred at a low rate because each ramet may produce terminal flowers. Although heterozygote excess was observed in some natural populations, most populations exhibited varying degrees of inbreeding and a heterozygote deficit.

  • This paper proposes a multiple time-series model with dummy variables for one-hour ahead load forecasting. We used 11 dummy variables that were classified by day characteristics such as day of the week, holiday, and special holiday. Also, model specification and selection of input variables including dummy variables were made by test statistics such as AIC(Akaike Information Criterion) and t-test statistics of each coefficient. OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) method was used for estimation and forecasting. We found out that model specifications for each hour are not identical usually at 30% of optimal significance level, and dummy variables reduce the forecasting error if they are classified properly. The proposed model has much more accurate estimates in forecasting with less MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error).

  • In this paper, a hybrid fuzzy controller using genetic algorithm based on parameter estimation mode to obtain optimal control parameter is presented. First, The control input for the system in the HFC is a convex combination of the FLC's output in transient state and PID's output in steady state by a fuzzy variable, namely, membership function of weighting coefficient. Second, genetic algorithms is presented to automatically improve the performance of hybrid fuzzy controller utilizing the conventional methods for finding PID parameters and estimation mode of scaling factor. The algorithms estimates automatically the optimal values of scaling factors, PID parameters and membership function parameters of fuzzy control rules according to the rate of change and limitation condition of control input. Computer simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of proposed hybrid fuzzy controller. ITAE, overshoot and rising time are used as a performance index of controller.

  • Let $S_p*({\alpha},{\beta},{\mu})$ denote the class of functions $f(z)=z^p-{\sum}{\limit}^{\infty}_{n=1}a_{p+n}\;z^{p+n}(a_{p+n}{\geq}o,\;p{\in}N)$ analytic and p-valent in the unit disc $U=\{z:{\mid}z{\mid}<1\}$ and satisfy the condition $${\mid}\frac{\frac{zf'(z)}{f(z)}-p}{\mu\frac{zf'(z)}{f(z)}+p-(1+\mu)\alpha}\mid<\beta,\;z{\in}U$$, where $o{\leq}{\alpha} and $o\leq\mu\leq1$. Further f(z) is said to belong to the class $C_p*({\alpha},{\beta},{\mu})\;if\;zf'(z)/p{\in}S_p*(\alpha,\beta,\mu)$. In this paper we obtain for these classes sharp results concerning coefficient estimates, disortion theorems, closure theorems, Hadamard products and some distortion theorems for the fractional calculus.

  • Remote Sensing Monitoring and Loss Estimated System of Flood Disaster based on GIS is an integrated system comprised flood disaster information receiving and collection, flood disaster simulation, and flood disaster estimation. When the system receives and collects remote sensing monitoring and conventional investigation information, the distributional features of flood disaster on space and time is obtained by means of image processing and information fusion. The economic loss of flood disaster can be classified into two pus: direct economic loss and indirect economic loss. The estimation of direct economic loss applies macroscopic economic analysis methods, i.e. applying Product (Industry and Agriculture Gross Product or Gross Domestic Product - GDP) or Unit Synthetic Economic Loss Index, direct economic loss can be estimated. Estimating indirect economic loss applies reduction coefficient methods with direct economic loss. The system can real-timely ascertains flood disaster and estimates flood Loss, so that the science basis fur decision-making of flood control and relieving disaster may be provided.

  • Using calculus inequalities and embedding theorems in $R^1$, we establish $W^1_2$-estimates for the solutions of prey-predator population model with cross-diffusion and self-diffusion terms. Two cases are considered; (i) $d_1\;=\;d_2,\;{\alpha}_{12}\;=\;{\alpha}_{21}\;=\;0$, and (ii) $0\;<\;{\alpha}_{21}\;<\;8_{\alpha}_{11},\;0\;<\;{\alpha}_{12}\;<\;8_{\alpha}_{22}$. It is proved that solutions are bounded uniformly pointwise, and that the uniform bounds remain independent of the growth of the diffusion coefficient in the system. Also, convergence results are obtained when $t\;{\to}\;{\infty}$ via suitable Liapunov functionals.

  • Gaussian error distributions are a common choice in traditional regression models for the maximum likelihood (ML) method. However, this distributional assumption is often suspicious especially when the error distribution is skewed or has heavy tails. In both cases, the ML method under normality could break down or lose efficiency. In this paper, we consider the log-concave and Gaussian scale mixture distributions for error distributions. For the log-concave errors, we propose to use a smoothed maximum likelihood estimator for stable and faster computation. Based on this, we perform comparative simulation studies to see the performance of coefficient estimates under normal, Gaussian scale mixture, and log-concave errors. In addition, we also consider real data analysis using Stack loss plant data and Korean labor and income panel data.

  • In this paper, we aim to introduce two new families of analytic and bi-univalent functions associated with the Attiya's operator, which is defined by the Hadamard product of a generalized Mittag-Leffler function and analytic functions on the open unit disk. Then we estimate the second and third coefficients of the Taylor-Maclaurin series expansions of functions belonging to these families. Also, we investigate Fekete-Szegö problem for these families. Some relevant connections of certain special cases of the main results with those in several earlier works are also pointed out. Two naturally-arisen problems are given for further investigation.
