Shingled technology is the latest cell interconnection technology developed in the photovoltaic (PV) industry due to its reduced resistance loss, low-cost, and innovative electrically conductive adhesive (ECA). There are several advantages associated with shingled technology to develop cell to module (CTM) such as the module area enlargement, low processing temperature, and interconnection; these advantages further improves the energy yield capacity. This review paper provides valuable insight into CTM loss when cells are interconnected by shingled technology to form modules. The fill factor (FF) had improved, further reducing electrical power loss compared to the conventional module interconnection technology. The commercial PV module technology was mainly focused on different performance parameters; the module maximum power point (Pmpp), and module efficiency. The module was then subjected to anti-reflection (AR) coating and encapsulant material to absorb infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) light, which can increase the overall efficiency of the shingled module by up to 24.4%. Module fabrication by shingled interconnection technology uses EGaIn paste; this enables further increases in output power under standard test conditions. Previous research has demonstrated that a total module output power of approximately 400 Wp may be achieved using shingled technology and CTM loss may be reduced to 0.03%, alongside the low cost of fabrication.
Objectives: The aims of study were developing cut-off value of Yin-deficiency questionnaire (YDQ) for diagnosis of Yin-deficiency (YD) and compare diagnostic ability between YDQ and Yin-deficiency scale score (YDS) in xerostomia patients. Methods: We recruited 58 xerostomia patients. They were diagnosed YD or non-YD by 3 Korean medicine doctors (KMD). We assessed YD using YDQ and YDS. We evaluated xerostomia using VAS, Dry Mouth Symptom Questionnaire (DMSQ), Salivary Flow Rate (SFR), oral moisture on buccal mucosa and tongue surface (OMB and OMT). We surveyed tongue coatings using Winkel Tongue Coating Index (WTCI). Results: We diagnosed 23 patients YD and 35 patients non-YD. There were no significant differences of age, sex and body mass index between the YD and non-YD groups. Using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, the optimal cut-off value of YDQ was defined as 304. Sensitivity, specificity and Youden index of YDQ were 86.96%, 71.43% and 1.5839 respectively. Using Cohen's coefficient of agreement, we found that degree of agreement between KMD and YDQ diagnosis was moderate (${\kappa}$=0.524, p<0.001). Using Pearson's correlation analysis, we found concurrent validity of YDQ and YDS were significant correlated. Using area under curve value, we found diagnostic ability between YDQ and YDS were not significantly different (p=0.505), but there were more strong correlations between DMSQ-symptoms and YDQ (r=0.731, p<0.001) than correlations between DMSQ-symptoms and YDS (r=0.418, p<0.01). Conclusions: The cut-off value of YDQ can diagnose YD in xerostomia and diagnostic ability of YDQ in xerostomia is better than YDS.
We investigated the effects of Co doping on the NO gas sensing characteristics of ZnO-carbon nanotube (ZnO-CNT) layered composites fabricated by coaxial coating of single-walled CNTs with ZnO using pulsed laser deposition. Structural examinations clearly confirmed a distinct nanostructure of the CNTs coated with ZnO nanoparticles of an average diameter as small as 10 nm and showed little influence of doping 1 at.% Co into ZnO on the morphology of the ZnO-CNT composites. It was found from the gas sensing measurements that 1 at.% Co doping into ZnO gave rise to a significant improvement in the response of the ZnO-CNT composite sensor to NO gas exposure. In particular, the Co-doped ZnO-CNT composite sensor shows a highly sensitive and fast response to NO gas at relatively low temperatures and even at low NO concentrations. The observed significant improvement of the NO gas sensing properties is attributed to an increase in the specific surface area and the role as a catalyst of the doped Co elements. These results suggest that Co-doped ZnOCNT composites are suitable for use as practical high-performance NO gas sensors.
Ultraviolet-nanoimprint lithography (UV-NIL) is a promising method for cost-effectively defining nanoscale structures at room temperature and low pressure. A 5${\times}$5${\times}$0.09 in. quartz stamp is fabricated using the etch process in which a Cr film was employed as a hard mask for transferring nanostructures onto the quartz plate. FAS(Fluoroalkanesilane) is used as a material for anti-adhesion surface treatment on the stamp and a thin organic film to improve adhesion on a wafer is formed by spin-coating. The low viscosity resin droplets with a nanometer scale volume are dispensed on the whole area of the coated wafer. The UV-NIL experiments have been performed using the EVG620-NIL. 370 nm - 1 m features on the stamp have been transferred to the thin resin layer on the wafer using the multi-dispensing method and UV-NIL process. We have measured the imprinted patterns and residual layer using SEM and AFM to evaluate the potential of the process.
Statement of problem. Luster loss in esthetic anterior ceromer restoration can occur and can be related with rough surface texture. Understanding durability of surface finishing methods like polishing and surface coating have critical importance. Purpose. This study evaluated the effect of tooth brushing and thermal cycling on surface luster of 3 ceromer systems (Artglass, Targis, Sculpture) treated with different surface finishing methods. Material and methods. Seventy-two samples were prepared: 12 for control group Z100, 12 for Artglass, 24 for Targis, and 24 for Sculpture. Half of the Targis and Sculpture were polished according to the manufacturer's recommendation. The rest of the samples were coated with staining and glazing solution for Targis and Sculpture, respectively. All specimens were subjected to 10,000 cycles between $5^{\circ}C\;and\;55^{\circ}C$ with 30 seconds dwell time. Tooth brushing abrasion tests were performed in a customized tooth brushing machine with 500g back and forth for 20,000 cycle. Luster comparisons were based on grading after direct observation, and light reflection area was measured with Image analysis software. Results. All materials showed an decrease in luster grade after thermal cycling and tooth brushing. The post-tooth brushing results revealed that the glazed Sculpture had greater mean luster grade than did any other groups. While, the stained Targis group showed greatest changes after tooth brushing (p < 0.05), polished Targis and Sculpture did not show significant changes. However, glazed Sculpture showed discretely fallen out glaze resin. Conclusion. From the results of this study, all of the ceromer specimens were much glossy than control composite group after tooth brushing. coatings used for Targis and Sculpture had not durability for long term use.
There has been increasing awareness on the importance of not only removal of organic materials but also sterilization of microbial cell in the drinking water purification research, so there has been many researches on that area. This study has been designed to analyze the effects of $TiO_{2}$ and ZnO coated on activated carbon on Escherichia coli. In this study, the sterilization power was analyzed by (1) variation of $TiO_{2}$ and ZnO concentration coated on activated carbon (2) variation of UV intensity. In addition, the kinetics between exposure time and sterilization velocity was viewed by the method of Chick. The results are as follows. 1. Survival ratio of E. coli decreased as time goes on in application of $TiO_{2}$, ZnO and $TiO_{2}{\cdot}ZnO$. In $TiO_{2}$ and ZnO, the effect increased upto certain concentration, but decreased there-after. In $TiO_{2}{\cdot}ZnO$, the effect of sterilization was in similar way among 3 combinations. 2. Survival ratio of E. coli decreased proportionately to an increase of light intensity in ZnO and $TiO_{2}{\cdit}ZnO$. In $TiO_{2}$, the survival ratio differed over extent of irradiation but the difference over the light intensity was not significant. 3. When Chick's law of sterilization was applied, m values of three concentrations of $TiO_{2}$ were 1.57,0.98, 1.96 respectively. M values of three concentration of ZnO were 1.10, 1.18,0. 11 respectively and those of three combination of $TiO_{2}{\cdot}ZnO$ were 1.17, 1.24, 1.74 respectively.
For the production of functional $TiO_2$-biodegradable plastic (polybutylene succinate:PBS) composite material with photocayalytic activity, we attempted to prepare $TiO_2$ coatings on PBS substrate by HVOF and plasma spraying techniques under various conditions. The microstructures of coatings were characterized with SEM and XRD analysis, and the photocatalytic efficiency of coatings was evaluated by the photo degradation of gaseous acetaldehyde. The effects of primary particle size and spraying parameters on the formation behavior, photocatalytic performance of the coatings have been investigated. The results indicated that for both the HVOF sprayed $P_{200}$ and $P_{30}$ coatings, the high anatase ratio of 100% can be achieved regardless of fuel gas pressure. On the other hand, the HVOF sprayed $P_7$ coating exhibited a largely decreased anatase ratio (from 100% to 49.1%) with increasing the fuel gas pressure, which may be attributed to much higher susceptibility of heat for 7 nm agglomerated powder. HVOF sprayed $P_{200}$ and $P_{30}$ coatings show better performance as compared to that of plasma sprayed $P_{200}$ coatings owing to the higher anatase ratio. However, the HVOF sprayed $P_7$ coatings did not show the photocatalytic activity, which may result from the extremely small reaction surface area to the photocatalytic activity and low anatase ratio.

Recently, as the function of largest supplier of biomass for "low carbon green growth", the necessity for systematic management of afforestation areas is emphasizing. The forestation of seedling, besides the afforestation cost itself, is required some additional follow-up management costs, like mowing and fertilizing of forestation area, and removal of bindweed. The mulching mat for afforestation seedlings is available for rooting of little seedlings as well as initial forestation expenses. Mulching technique is also used to control soil temperature and moisture by covering the surface of ground. In this study, the paper based-mulching film coated with biodegradable polymer and functional additive was specially produced using laboratory bar coater, and analyzed for its degradable behavior. Coating colors were prepared by dissolving PE (polyester) 80 % and PLA(polylactic acid) 20 % in chloroform and finally applied to handsheet prepared by preceding study conditions. Base paper and polymer-coated paper were artificially aged by 2 kinds of degradation methods, which are soil degradation by microorganism and light degradation by 257 nm UV wavelengths. Strength property, oxidation index and morphological property were evaluated by reduction rates of tensile strength, FTIR spectra ratio of carboxyl and carbonyl group and SEM micrograph. As these results, polymer coated-paper was superior to base paper in degradation behaviors, having results with lower reduction rate of strength properties.
The liquid-phase sintering method was used to prepare a glass lens forming core composed of SiC-$Al_2O_3-Y_2O_3$. Spark plasma sintering was used to obtain dense sintered bodies. The sintering characteristics of different SiC sources and compositions of additives were studied. Results revealed that, owing to its initial larger surface area, $\alpha$-SiC offers sinterability that is superior to that of $\beta$-SiC. A maximum density of $3.32\;g/cm^3$ (theoretical density [TD] of 99.7%) was obtained in $\alpha$-SiC-10 wt% ($6Al_2O_3-4Y_2O_3$) sintered at $1850^{\circ}C$ without high-energy ball milling. The maximum hardness and compression stress of the sintered body reached 2870 Hv and 1110 MPa, respectively. The optimum ultra-precision machining parameters were a grinding speed of 1243 m/min, work spindle rotation rate of 100 rpm, feed rate of 0.5 mm/min, and depth of cut of $0.2\;{\mu}m$. The surface roughnesses of the thus prepared final products were Ra = 4.3 nm and Rt = 55.3 nm for the aspheric lens forming core and Ra = 4.4 nm and Rt = 41.9 for the spherical lens forming core. These values were found to be sufficiently low, and the cores showed good compatibility between SiC and the diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating material. Thus, these glass lens forming cores have great potential for application in the lens industry.

Thin thermistor films of solutions with nickel and manganese oxides were prepared by metal-organic decomposition (MOD). The structural properties of the thin films were investigated as a function of annealing temperature. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) results indicated that the thin films had a thin thickness, smooth and dense surface. The crystallization temperature of $414.9^{\circ}C$ was confirmed from thermogavimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) curve. A single phase of cubic spinel structure was obtained for the thin film annealed from $700^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$, which was confirmed from the X-ray diffraction (XRD). From the selected area electron diffraction (SAED) in high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), the nano grains (2~3 nm) of spinel phase with (311) and (222) planes were detected for the thin film annealed at $500^{\circ}C$, which could be applicable to read-out integrated circuit (ROIC) substrate of the uncooled microbolometer with low processing temperature.
