  • We investigated clothing consumers' perception of benefits and risks on internet shopping and tried to identify the perceptual differences according to presence of real experiences of internet shopping, intention to buy clothings using the internet, clothing items, and demographic variables. A total of 441 people aged of twenties and thirties were surveyed for analysis. The mean values, standard deviation, Student's t-test, paired t-test, ANOVA and multiple range test were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study included: 1. Clothing consumers perceived the internet shopping as a convenient, time-saving method, and an easy way to compare clothing items, but not a cheap tool. The most highly perceived risk was inability to identify the size of clothing item, followed by shortage of stock, delivery problem, color, textiles, after-service, and exposure of personal informations in a decreasing order. 2. Those who had real experiences of internet shopping or who had intention to use it tended to perceive more benefits and less risks on the internet shopping. 3. Perception of risks and benefits differed according to the clothing items and demographic variables.

  • We can see the relationship between Fashion creation and Art through the characteristic of clothings at Fashion Collections such as the round, abstractive motive, optical effect, symetric line, etc. This relationship between Fashion creation and Art brings the affective image and the aesthetic shock to open the door to imagination. Art-related people such as artist, fashion designer share the creativeness, new vision and artistic fever. We can see the link and co- work between art and fashion creation all over the 20th centary. Specially it reached its peak in 1960s when Paco Rabanne, Andra Curreges, Pierre Cardin and Yves Saint-Laurent introduced their works. This study includes not only the influence of the art but also the relationship between the art and fashion creation to analyze the way and the reason of the influence of the art in terms of the form, technique, material and process. Doing this, 1 try to ask and answer the question "through what form and at what situation fashion creation can be considered as an art." The study reaches the conclusion that fashion designer is the creator, technician and transferer if the the art.e the art.

  • This study was investigated to evaluate the physiological responses on T-shirts manufactured with selected functional materials by body parts which were selectioned on the distribution of sweating and temperature change. Seven healthy men in twenties were participated in a climate chamber of $27{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ and $50{\pm}1%RHC$. Three kinds of T-shirts named 'D1', 'D2' and 'Poly' were used as experimental clothings. Four kinds of functional materials of quick absorbing/drying were used in all section in 'D1', but two kinds of functional materials used partially in 'D2'. 'Poly' T-shirts used only polyester. In an experimental schedule of 90 minutes, which were consisted of 'Rest', twice of 'Exercise' and twice of 'Recovery' periods, the subjects walked on a treadmill with 60% of $VO_2max$. As a physiological responses, the microclimate temperature, surface temperature(skin, clothing) and sweat rate were measured. Temperature regulation was kept well in 'D1' rather than other T-shirts. The quick absorbing/drying T-shirts showed its performance well as the exercise goes on the second half. With these results in mind, 'D1' will be more effective for long hours exercise such as climbing rather than short hours exercise.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the change of important clothing evaluative criteria according to the clothing buying process and to bulid the flow chart of clothing buying process and clothing evaluative criteria. The study is carried out in two ways, they are, literature study and empirical survey. The results are as following; 1. the change of the important clothing evaluative criteria according to the clothing buying process is found out. 2. The clothing buying process is that problem recognition -1 decision of clothing wearing situation $\rightarrow$ search and evaluation of genaral Clothing information $\rightarrow$ decision of price limit $\rightarrow$ (search and evaluation of brand information 1 narrowing of brand range) $\rightarrow$ search and evaluation of store information $\rightarrow$ decision of store $\rightarrow$ search and evaluation of clothings in the store $\rightarrow$ narrowing of determinant clothing range $\rightarrow$ trial, trial evaluation and decision $\rightarrow$ buy-ing (or reject) $\rightarrow$ result evaluation. 3. The flow chart is built by the clothing buying process and the clothing evaluative criteria

  • An attempt was made to determine individual thermal resistances of 2-lining fabrics ad 4-outer fabrics for Korean-styled clothes, and 4-lining fabrics ad 5-outer fabrics for Western-styled clothes at $19^{\circ}C$ and $24^{\circ}C$. The thermal insulation effects for different lining fabrics in Korean and Western-styled clothes were deduced in determining heart rate, rectal temperature, mean skin temperature and microclimates of subjects. The subjects were dressed experimental clothing which were made of lining and outer fabrics in question, and seated in an environmental chamber during the experiment. 1. Thermal resistances of lining fabrics : For Korean-styled clothes. nylon sheer is larger than unzosa. For Western-styled clothes, rayon, acetate, nylon(taffeta) and kalkali in that order. 2. Thermal resistances of lining fabrics combined : with outer fabrics: For Korean-styled clothes. the measured value is larger than the one of simple aggregate value. But in the case of Western-styled clothes, the measured value is smaller than simple aggregate value. 3. The effects of lining on the thermal insulation of the whole clothing: In case when subjects wore unlimited number of underwear, no matter what lining fabrics were used in Korean and Western-styled clothes less thermal insulation effects were indicated. For the case, however, if subjects wore only limited underwear, there are significant differences of thermal insulation between experimental clothings.

Out of them, 272 students were used in statistical analysis, with frequency, percentage and Chi-test in SPSS/PC+ program. The results were as follows : First, most adolescents got pocket money irregularly from their mothers and average amount per month was more than 10 thousands and less than 50 thousands won. And they weren't satisfied with that amount, especially girl students. Second, most adolescents got extra money when it is a gala day or their records were improved. • To get well-fitted ready-made clothings with beautiful silhouettes, it's better to classify body forms into several forms and to assign sizing within each form than to grade just based on body size regardless of body styles. This study illucidated the importance of drop value in the results of surveying the current values of sizing and grading. Therefore, it's meaningful to get the classification of body form with appropriate distribution of drop values of the body, and the distribution of drop value and the frequency of each form is very helpful to name the combined sizing or coverage of ready-made clothes. This study aimed at classifying body forms with various drop values using multivariate analysis for sizing and grading. Factor analysis and cluster analysis were done using measured values from 346 unmarried women. The results are as follows: 1. The factor which explains body forms was obtained by factor analysis, and the representative major 18 items which have important roles in classifying body forms were selected among the measured values with high factor loading and communality. 2. The body forms were classified into 8 groups based on the charateristics, frequencies and distributions of them obtained from cluster analysis. 3. Each classified body form showed conspicuous difference in drop value and the difference of body form mainly resulted from the difference between waist and hip rather than the difference between bust circumference and waist in Korean unmarried women.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the fit preference for ready-to-wear clothes(jackets and slacks) of adult men and to determine the respective differences by the age range and obesity level. The study method was a questionnaire survey with 465 male subjects aged from 20 to 59 years old. The questionnaire was composed of fit preference tendency, physical measurements, age, and occupation. The findings were as follows. 1. Regarding the fit preferred for each part of jackets and slacks, among ready-to-wears, the 'thing with some extra width' in every part was most favored, followed by the 'thing fitting perfectly'. 2. Differences were found in the fit preference tendency by the age of adult men. The fit preference tendency was higher among those in their 20's than among those of the other age ranges. 3. Differences were also found in the fit preference tendency by the obesity level of adult men. The fit preference tendency was higher in the order of the emaciation, normalcy, and obesity types. 4. The fit preference tendency was more affected by age than by obesity level. Clothing companies should consider ease to offer the proper clothing desired by consumers.
