This study aims to identify life style factors that drive eco-friendly clothing practices and efficacy in middle school students. Data was collected from 215 middle school students in Daegu, using a self-administered questionnaire in December 2013. Statistical analyses to determine frequency, average, ANOVA, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and regression analysis were performed using SPSS 21 program. The results of factor analysis indicated that eco-friendly clothing practices were classified into purchasing and management, reuse, washing, and recycle, and eco-friendly clothing practices efficacy was sub-grouped into practice confidence, purchasing and management efficacy, and washing and sharing efficacy, and life style consisted of fashion pursuit, environment pursuit, planned purchasing, and economy. Eco-friendly clothing practices and efficacy were significant differences in sex and grade (p<0.05). Eco-friendly clothing practices were significantly affected by the factors of environment pursuit, planned purchasing, economy of life style, and the factors of practice confidence, purchasing and management efficacy, and washing and sharing efficacy of eco-friendly clothing practices efficacy (p<0.05). The planned purchasing factor of life style significantly affected all the factors of eco-friendly clothing practices efficacy. For clothing attitude and clothing regulation attitude, I examined 5 variables of conformity, individuality, modesty, fashion, clothing importance and 2 variables of refusal against regulation from school and parent, The influential groups were divided into ‘significant others’ of teacher, father, mother, other sex friend, same sex friend, and senior and ‘model group’ of teacher, parent, friend and mass media star. My subject was 1050 middle and high school students who are resident in Seoul; sample groups were selected, considered their resident area, gender and the kind of school. As for the analysing method, I adopted SPSS/PC+Program to practice t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan’s Multi-Range Test. The results are as follows: There was difference in clothing attitude according to the sex and school except nonconformity. Conformity and clothing importance were higher for than boys in both middle and high schools, In particular, middle school boys' clothing importance were lowest. Compared with middle and high school boys, middle school girls considered fashion most seriously and modesty least, For both sexes, the lower the scholar score, the worst the modesty, While the lower the scholar score, the higher the fashion, the refusals against clothing regulation from school and parent for boys, but the fashion and the refusals against regulation from school for girls, As for boy, the lower his father’s educational career was, the higher the clothing importance was, and the lower his mother‘s educational career, the fiercer he refused against clothing regulation from school. Among the subareas of class evaluation, participation scored the highest average, followed by interest, difficulty, necessity, importance, and utilization. In the entire subareas, girl students have more positive perceptions on sewing practice classes than boy students. Secondly, satisfaction with the practice contents has an effect on all subareas of class evaluation. The satisfaction with the teaching learning method has an effect on participation, interest, importance and utilization. Lastly, as for the practice contents, they would prefer household items and ornament, and want to choose sizes freely. As for students' needs for a new teaching learning method through which students are allowed to freely make objects or create works through a group activity, it was higher than the median value. This study showed that practice contents and teaching learning method are important factors that affect class evaluation. This study suggested that sewing practice class should be conducted freely choosing of practice contents, making the group works, group or student-led activities. If sewing practice class is designed in consideration of the results and students' needs for class, students' perceptions on class is expected to change in a positive way.
