  • In this paper, a Home Mess-Cleanup Robot(HMR), which has a practical function of the automatic mess-cleanup, is developed. The vacuum-cleaner had made the burden of house chore lighten but the operation labour of a vacuum-cleaner had been so severe. Recently, the cleaning robot was producted to perfectly solve the cleaning labour of a house but it also was not successful because it still had a problem of mess-cleaning, which was the clean-up of big trash and the arrangement of newspapers, clothes, etc. The cleaning robot is to just vacuum dust and small trash but has no function to arrange and take away before the automatic vacuum-cleaning. For this reason, the market for the cleaning robot is not yet built up. So, we need a design method and technological algorithm of new automatic machine to solve the problem of mess-cleanup in house. It needs functions of agile automatic navigation, novel manipulation system for mess-cleanup. The automatic navigation system has to be controlled for the full scanning of living room, to recognize the absolute position and orientation of the self, the precise tracking of the desired path, and to distinguish the mess object to clean-up from obstacle object to just avoid. The manipulator, which is not needed in the vacuum-cleaning robot, must have the functions, how to distinguish big trash to clean from mess objects to arrange, how to grasp in according to the form of mess objects, how to move to the destination in according to mess objects and arrange them. We use the RFID system to solve the problems in this paper and propose the reading algorithm of RFID tags installed in indoor objects and environments. Then, it should be an intelligent system so that the mess cleaning task can be autonomously performed in a wide variety of situations and environments. It needs to also has the entertainment functions for the good communication between the human and HMR. Finally, the good performance of the designed HMR is confirmed through the results of the mess clean-up and arrangement.

  • Under the Korean Marine Environment Management Act (hereunder, the KMEMA), the duty to arrange spill clean-up equipments, including spill clean-up vessels, required by the article 67 of the KMEMA is in essence the provision of public goods since it is a precautionary or preventive measure for the efficient performance of oil spill cleaning up. Also the obligation to control marine pollution and the duty to arrange of anti-pollution measures imposed on polluters is the obligation imposed by the public law in accordance with "the Polluter-Pays Principle". Therefore, the execution of such obligations shall be accompanied by the minimum legal and institutional arrangements. On the other hand, judging whether to form the roles of the public and private sectors in providing public goods is basically a matter of policy decision. However, even if the private sector is allowed to participate in the provision of public goods, it is imperative that a minimum requirement be provided to secure the public interest. Although major countries allows polluters to conclude a preliminary contract with a civil anti-pollution management company, these civilian institutions are in principle constituted by the owners of oil storage facilities. Additionally it is worth noting that it operates as a non-profit organization. In particular, if the practitioner performs pollution control for commercial purposes, their profitability may depend on the size of the pollution, the period spent on pollution control, the size of the equipment and manpower mobilized in the pollution control, and so on. Considering the above problems, caution should be taken to allow marine environmental management companies to be un-limitedly entrusted with the responsibility of arranging measures such as pollution control. In order to allow the marine environmental management contractor to be entrusted for the assignment of duty to protect the marine environment, the marine environment management business should be expanded so that the marine pollutant management capacity satisfies the statutory control capacity. For this purpose, it is necessary to manage and supervise the maintenance and improvement of the control capability of the marine environment management business. It is also necessary to discuss the introduction of the grading system for the control ability of the civil control companies alike in major countries.

  • An experimental approach was applied to test the effects of stranded oils and dispersant cleanup on marine gastropods, Nodilittorina exigua, littorina brevicula and Purpura clavigera. They were exposed to Labuan crude, Dubai crude and Bunker C fuel oil. Direct oil contact caused death of gastropods within 96 hours. N. exigua and L. brevicula were more sensitive than P. clavigera at the exposure of Bunker C fuel oil. Toxic effects of Bunker C oil was slower than crude oils. direct contact to concentrated dispersant killed gastropods, while clean-up with diluted dispersant still gave severe damage. P. clavigera could escape from dispersed crude oil below 250 ppm. Oiling and dispersant clean-up may have severe effects on marine gastropods by rendering them washed out to sea.

  • Accelerating economic growth since the 1960s, penetration rate of the House of Commons has been increased. However, design competition has been imposed for improve of the qualitative level in modern because it was quantitative increasing. Even though its design quality is improved by introducing design competition, distorting the design is increased for the purpose of election. For that reason, errors of information and design changes are increased. So BIM(Building Information Modeling) is adopted to solve the problems. In this study, BIM process on the basis of the existing design process was to clean up and LoI(Level Of Information) based on the level of information was newly defined. Working-level of the design competition is plan-basic design. LOI level is LOI1-LOI2 in plan and Lol3-LOI4 in basic design. At each step of the operation was to clean up the level of detail and content. Also exchange of data in each area and feedback about content are to clean up.

  • This paper proposes a local improvement method that combines extended topological clean up and optimization-based smoothing for homogenizing triangular grid system. First extended topological clean up procedures are applied to improve the connectivities of grid elements. Then, local optimization-based smoothing is performed for maximizing the distortion metric that measures grid quality. Using the local improvement strategy, we implement the grid homogenizations for two triangular grid examples. It is shown that the suggested algorithm improves the quality of the triangular grids to a great degree in an efficient manner and also can be easily applied to the remeshing algorithm in adaptive mesh refinement technique.

  • Oil spills caused by the accidents have been occurred from house and factory waste, grounded tanker, the rupture of storage tank and oil pipelines, the deterioration of various industrial facilities, etc. Many oil spills result in contamination of shorelines and workplace. Fire and explosion may happen from these spills. There are several technologies used for clean-up application, which include use of oil dispersing agents, absorbents, solidifiers, booms and skimmers by physical, chemical, and biological methods. Methods for oil spill clean-up operation are classified into the absorption type, gel type and self-swelling type. Porous materials with oil absorptive properties are classified into micropore, mesopore, and macropore depending on their pore sizes. Recently, new porous materials with smaller size have been developed, but the selective oil absorption in water-in-oil interface demonstrates the macro pore size. In this study oil absorption effects were evaluated using the organic porous materials with a complex function of gel type and swelling type. Samples were subjected to analysis by FT-IR spectroscopy and were characterized in terms of gel formation and morphologies. Oil sorption capacity, pressure retention force and gel strength were also measured. From these results, the physicochemical reactivity before and after gelation was verified and the industrial applications of clean-up operation were suggested.

  • This study was performed to examine treatment efficiency and patient discomfort rate according to used handpiece speed in clean-up technique. Brackets were bonded to extracted human premolar(50 teeth). After debonding, 50 extracted human premolar were divided Into each two groups(low speed handpiece group with tungsten carbide bur and high speed handpiece group with ultra-fine diamond finishing bur) of 25 according to used handpiece speed in clean-up technique. In clean-up procedure, teeth vibration and pulp thermal changes were measured. After clean-up procedure, the enamel surfaces of randomly selected 10 teeth from each two groups were taken by SEM and evaluated. The findings of this study were as follows ; 1. During resin removal, tooth vibrations of various amplitude in low speed handpiece group were more than those of high speed handpiece. 2. The pulpal thermal changes of high speed handpiece group were significantly higher than those of low speed handpiece group, also the resin removal time in high speed handpiece group was almost as twice as in low speed handpiece group. 3. The figures of SEM to enamel surfaces after resin removal showed that notches and resin remnants in high speed handpiece group were more than those in low speed handpiece group.

  • Alkanethiols (CH3(CH2)n-1SH) based self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on the clean copper surfaces have been examined for n = 4, 8, and 16. Using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and contact angle analysis, it is found that alkanethiolate monolayers similar to those on gold are formed on clean copper surfaces. The monolayers are stable in air up to about 140 $^{\circ}C.$ Above 160 $^{\circ}C$ the monolayers begin to desorb through the oxidation reaction of the thiolate to sulfonate, with the alkyl chains remaining intact. Following this desorption step, the copper surface has begun to oxidize to CuO at about 180 $^{\circ}C$.
