The academic research performance is often quantitatively measured by means of using citation frequency. The citation frequency-based indicators, such as h-index and impact factor, are commonly used reflecting the citation quality to some extent. However, these frequency-based indicators are usually carried out based on the assumption that all citations are equal. This may lead to biased evaluations in that, the attributes of the citing objects and cited objects are significant. A high-accuracy evaluation method is needed. In this paper, we review various citation quality-based evaluation indicators, and categorize them considering the algorithms being applied. We discuss the pros and cons of these indicators, and compare them from four dimensions. The outcomes will be useful for our further research on distinguishing citation quality.

본 연구는 교수의 연구업적을 보다 다면적으로 측정하기 위한 합리적 방법을 고안하기 위하여 새로운 논문계량지표인 Quality Factor를 개발하였다. Quality Factor는 총 논문수, 피인용수, h-index, Impact Factor를 이용하여 수치를 도출한다. 새로 개발한 지표인 Quality Factor와 다양한 지표(논문 수, Impact Factor, 피인용수, h-index, g-index)간의 관계를 분석하기 위하여, 본 연구는 국내 문헌정보학과 교수 189명의 14년간(2001-2014)의 학술논문데이터를 바탕으로 그들의 지표별(논문 수, Impact Factor, 피인용수) 순위를 산출하고 지표들 간에 스피어만 순위상관관계를 도출하였다. 그 결과, Quality Factor는 전체적으로 피인용 수의 영향을 주로 받는 지표(피인용수, h-index, g-index)와 유사한 상관관계를 보였으나, 산점도에서 Quality Factor가 타 지표에 비하여 분산된 분포를 나타내면서 개별식별성이 높은 것으로 드러났으며 군집 분할 분석에서도 타 지표들과 상이한 상관관계를 보여주었다.

최근 들어 연구자의 연구능력평가와 함께 학술지의 내용과 질적 수준에 대한 평가가 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 연구는 한국데이터정보과학회지를 중심으로 통계학 관련 국내 학술지들이 어떠한 수준의 영향력을 가지고 있는지를 다양한 KCI 인용지수를 이용하여 비교해보고, 상호인용 빈도를 활용하여 학술지 간 연결망을 사회네트워크분석 관점에서 조망해 보았다. 그 결과 다음을 알 수 있었다. 첫째, 자기인용비율이 비교적 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 수학, 물리학, 화학에 비하여 통계학 관련 학술지들의 영향력지수는 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 타 학술지들에서 통계학 관련 학술지들을 인용한 빈도는 높지 않았다. 셋째, 한국데이터정보과학회지의 경우 연결망분석에서 중심적인 위치를 차지하고 있으나, 노력의 여지는 있어 보인다.

본 연구는 약물 연구 분야에 속하는 특허 사이에 나타나는 지식의 흐름을 살펴보고 이들 간의 영향력을 파악해보기 위해 특허데이터에서 나타나는 인용 관계를 분석하였다. 특허데이터의 수집은 Google Patents에서 진행하였다. 약물 연구와 관련된 특허 문서를 검색하여 상위 25개의 출원인을 선정하였고, 이를 바탕으로 출원인 사이에서의 인용 관계를 알아보고 각 출원인의 각 문서에 대한 피인용빈도와 순위를 활용하여 h-지수와 h-지수의 파생지표들의 값을 계산하여 비교하였다. 분석 결과를 종합하면, 'Pfizer, MIT, Abbott' 등의 출원인이 약물 연구 분야에서 영향력이 높은 출원인으로 드러났다. 5개의 계량서지학적 지표 중에서 g-지수와 hS-지수가 서로 유사한 결과를 보여주었고, 총인용빈도, 최대인용빈도, CPP의 순위를 가장 잘 반영하는 지표로 나타났다. 또한, 총인용빈도, CPP, 최대인용빈도 순으로 5개의 계량서지학적 지표와의 상관관계가 높았다. 한편, 기존의 특허 출원인의 기술적 영향력을 나타내는 것으로 알려진 지표인 CPP만으로는 정확한 비교가 어려운 경우도 나타났다.

본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 구축되고 있는 참고문헌 데이터베이스의 현황을 분석하여 문제점을 밝히고, 이들 문제점을 토대로 정보원으로서의 기능과 평가도구로서의 기능을 적절하게 수행할 수 있는 참고문헌 데이터베이스를 구축하기 위한 활성화 방안을 제언하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 국내에서 구축되는 참고문헌 데이터베이스 가운데 전문연구정보센터에서 구축하는 참고문헌 DB, 한국과학기술정보연구원의 KSCI, 학술진흥재단의 KCI. 대한의학회의 KoMCI를 연구대상으로 분석하였다. 이를 근거로 국내 참고문헌 데이터베이스 구축 사업을 위한 방안을 도출하여 제시하였다. 이들 자료는 참고문헌DB 구축을 위한 제도 및 정책, 기술적 방향을 제시하는데 근거자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

본 연구는 국내 주요 10개 경제연구기관의 보고서를 대상으로 인터넷 뉴스에서의 인용 행태를 분석하고 각 기관의 영향력을 h-지수와 다양한 변형 지수(g-지수, $h_s$-지수, $g_s$-지수)로 제시하였다. 이를 위해 네이버 뉴스에서 기사를 검색하여 총 878건에 대한 기사의 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 먼저, 보고서 인용 기사 수, 뉴스매체, 주제 섹션, 신속성, 정확성, 중심성, 기사 길이 등을 중심으로 인용행태를 분석하였다. 다음으로 인용 건수로 영향력을 산출하여 기관 순위를 비교하였다. 분석 결과 인용 지수 순위가 상위권에 속한 기관들은 지수 간의 순위 차이가 거의 없었고, 전문가가 제시한 순위와도 유사한 반면, 중 하위권의 기관들은 상대적으로 지수에 따라 차이가 나고, 전문가 순위와 다른 양상을 보였다.

Purpose: The total number of times a paper is cited, also known as the impact factor (IF) of a medical journal, is widely implied in evaluating the quality of a research paper. We evaluated the citation index data as an IF of Korean J Pediatr in Korean Medical Citation Index (KoMCI) and Journal Citation Index (JCI) of Web of Science. Methods: We calculated the IF of Korean J Pediatr at KoMCI supervised by Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors. And we estimated the IF of Korean J Pediatr by the JCI of Web of Science although it was never officially reported. Results: The IF of Korean J Pediatr on KoMCI has increased from 0.100 in the year 2000, to 0.205 in 2008, and 0.326 in 2009. Although the IF of Korean J Pediatr was 0.006 in 2005, 0.018 in 2006, 0.028 in 2008, 0.066 in 2009, and 0.018 in 2010 according to the JCI of Web of Science, the number of citations are steadily increasing. Conclusion: Understanding and realizing the current status will be a stepping stone for further improvement. The next objective of the Korean J Pediatr is to become registered in the SCI or SCIE. Increasing the IF according to the JCI of Web of Science is crucial in order to achieve this goal.

Many problems making the use and management of patents arduous is caused by the difficulty in knowing the proper value. This study has suggests the methods to evaluate the value of patents by using a quantitative assessment scale as an alternative or complementary measure instead of the existing subjective evaluation tools. This study is to find a method to determine the capability and level of research and establish the scheme of use and management of patents by using the citation index as a quantitative assessment measure. The data used in this paper has been obtained from a public-sector R&D institute, the K-Institute in Korea.

Citation frequency is an important factor in evaluating journal quality and is used as a measure of journal impact. The citation index of a paper plays an important role in linking papers with groups of other academic papers, forming a huge and complex network. This study examines the intellectual structure of apparel research through the bibliometric citation analysis of The Research Journal of the Costume Culture (RJCC). In order to analyze the changes in the intellectual structure of the RJCC, we used the Korea Citation Index's (KCI) data (highly citing journals and highly cited journals). The NodeXL, a social network analysis tool, was used to examine the connection structure between journals. In order to identify the academic influence of the RJCC, we used the KCI journal citation index. Our findings indicate that the RJCC has a high centrality index among the clothing-oriented journals in the same life sciences field. A look at the journals citing the RJCC and the journals cited within the RJCC also showed that more journals of diverse fields have been recently linked through their citations. This suggests that a convergence of interdisciplinary research is underway in the field of clothing. As a result of examining international journals cited in the RJCC, it was confirmed that they were cited in prominent international journals in various fields.

본 연구는 학문의 지적 구조를 분석하는 새로운 분석기법인 저자프로파일링분석과 전통적인 분석기법인 저자동시인용분석을 비교하여 분석함으로써 국내 연구환경에 맞는 지적 구조 분석 방법을 제안하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 인용색인을 이용하지 않고 학문의 지적 구조를 분석할 수 있는 텍스트마이닝을 이용한 저자프로파일링분석을 통하여 새로운 지적 구조 방법의 유용성을 확인하 고자 하였다. 분석대상 학술지는 "대한건축학회 논문집 - 계획계"를 대상으로 하였다.
