Certificate-based cryptography is a useful public key cryptographic primitive that combines the merits of traditional public key cryptography and identity-based cryptography. It not only solves the key escrow problem inherent in identity-based cryptography, but also simplifies the cumbersome certificate management problem in traditional public key cryptography. In this paper, by giving a concrete attack, we first show that the certificate-based encryption scheme without bilinear pairings proposed by Yao et al. does not achieve either the chosen-ciphertext security or the weaker chosen-plaintext security. To overcome the security weakness in Yao et al.'s scheme, we propose an enhanced certificate-based encryption scheme that does not use the bilinear pairings. In the random oracle model, we formally prove it to be chosen-ciphertext secure under the computational Diffie-Hellman assumption. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme enjoys obvious advantage in the computation efficiency compared with the previous certificate-based encryption schemes. Without costly pairing operations, it is suitable to be employed on the computation-limited or power-constrained devices.
The Boneh, Goh, and Nissim (BGN) cryptosytem is the first homomorphic encryption scheme that allows additions and multiplications of plaintexts on encrypted data. BGN-type cryptosystems permit very small plaintext sizes. The best-known approach for the expansion of a message size by t times is one that requires t implementations of an initial scheme; however, such an approach becomes impractical when t is large. In this paper, we present a method of message expansion of BGN-type homomorphic encryption using composite product pairing, which is practical for relatively large t. In addition, we prove that the indistinguishability under chosen plaintext attack security of our construction relies on the decisional Diffie-Hellman assumption for all subgroups of prime order of the underlying composite pairing group.
This dissertation proposes digital video protection algorithm lot moving image based on MPEG. Shuffling-based encryption algorithms using a fixed random shuffling table are quite simple and effective but vulnerable to the chosen plaintext attack. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to change the key used for generation of the shuffling table. However, this may pose a significant burden on the security key management system. A better approach is to generate the shuffling table based on the local feature of an image. In order to withstand the chosen plaintext attack, at first, we propose a interleaving algorithm that is adaptive to the local feature of an image. Secondly, using the multiple shuffling method which is combined interleaving with existing random shuffling method, we encrypted the DPCM processed 8*8 blocks. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm needs only 10% time of SEED encryption algorithm and moreover there is no overhead bit. In video sequence encryption, multiple random shuffling algorithms are used to encrypt the DC and AC coefficients of intra frame, and motion vector encryption and macroblock shuffling are used to encrypt the intra-coded macroblock in predicted frame.

In a DES-like cryptosystem, the S(ubstitution) boxes determine its cryptographic strength as well as its nonlinearity. When in an S box a part of the output depends on a part of the input. It can be broken by the chosen plaintext attack. To prevent this attack, every output bit should changes with a probability of one half when ever a single input bit is complemented. We call this criterion Strict Avalanche criterion(SAC), which was proposed by Webster and Tavared. In this paper, we propose simple construction method of Boolean functions satisfying the SAC and bijective functions satisfying the maximum order SAC in order to design cryptographically desirable S-boxes. Also, practical construction examples of S-boxes are provided.

Cloud computing has emerged as perhaps the hottest development in information technology at present. This new computing technology requires that the users ensure that their infrastructure is safety and that their data and applications are protected. In addition, the customer must ensure that the provider has taken the proper security measures to protect their information. In order to achieve fine-grained and flexible access control for cloud computing, a new construction of hierarchical attribute-based encryption(HABE) with Ciphertext-Policy is proposed in this paper. The proposed scheme inherits flexibility and delegation of hierarchical identity-based cryptography, and achieves scalability due to the hierarchical structure. The new scheme has constant size ciphertexts since it consists of two group elements. In addition, the security of the new construction is achieved in the standard model which avoids the potential defects in the existing works. Under the decision bilinear Diffie-Hellman exponent assumption, the proposed scheme is provable security against Chosen-plaintext Attack(CPA). Furthermore, we also show the proposed scheme can be transferred to a CCA(Chosen-ciphertext Attack) secure scheme.

SIMON and SPECK are two families of lightweight block ciphers that have excellent performance on hardware and software platforms. At CRYPTO 2019, Gohr first introduces the differential cryptanalysis based deep learning on round-reduced SPECK32/64, and finally reduces the remaining security of 11-round SPECK32/64 to roughly 38 bits. In this paper, we are committed to evaluating the safety of SIMON cipher under the neural differential cryptanalysis. We firstly prove theoretically that SIMON is a non-Markov cipher, which means that the results based on conventional differential cryptanalysis may be inaccurate. Then we train a residual neural network to get the 7-, 8-, 9-round neural distinguishers for SIMON32/64. To prove the effectiveness for our distinguishers, we perform the distinguishing attack and key-recovery attack against 15-round SIMON32/64. The results show that the real ciphertexts can be distinguished from random ciphertexts with a probability close to 1 only by 28.7 chosen-plaintext pairs. For the key-recovery attack, the correct key was recovered with a success rate of 23%, and the data complexity and computation complexity are as low as 28 and 220.1 respectively. All the results are better than the existing literature. Furthermore, we briefly discussed the effect of different residual network structures on the training results of neural distinguishers. It is hoped that our findings will provide some reference for future research.

In this paper, we analyze Generalized Feistel Network(GFN) Type I, Type II, Type III that round function use SP update function, secret S-box and $k{\times}k$ MDS matirx. In this case an attacker has no advantage about S-box. For each type of GFN, we analyze and restore secret S-box in 9, 6, 6 round using the basis of integral cryptanalysis with chosen plaintext attack. Also we restore secret S-box in 16 round of GFN Type I with chosen ciphertext attack. In conclusion, we need $2^{2m}$ data complexity and ${\frac{2^{3m}}{32k}},{\frac{2^{3m}}{24k}},{\frac{2^{3m}}{36k}}$ time complexity to restore m bit secret S-box in GFN Type I, Type II, Type III.

The Fantomas and the Robin are the block ciphers included in the LS-designs, the family of block ciphers. They are designed to efficiently apply the masking technique, which is a side-channel analysis countermeasure technique, using L-boxes and S-boxes capable of bit slice implementation. In this paper, we show that the key recovery attacks of Fantomas and Robin through the related-key differential analysis are possible with $2^{56}$ and $2^{72}$ time complexity, $2^{56}$ and $2^{69}$ chosen plaintext respectively.

Today distributed data storage service are being widely used. However lack of proper means of security makes the user data vulnerable. In this work, we propose a Randomized Block Size (RBS) model for secure data storage in distributed environments. The model work with multifold block sizes encrypted with the Chinese Remainder Theorem-based RSA (C-RSA) technique for end-to-end security of multimedia data. The proposed RBS model has a key generation phase (KGP) for constructing asymmetric keys, and a rand generation phase (RGP) for applying optimal asymmetric encryption padding (OAEP) to the original message. The experimental results obtained with text and image files show that the post encryption file size is not much affected, and data is efficiently encrypted while storing at the distributed storage server (DSS). The parameters such as ciphertext size, encryption time, and throughput have been considered for performance evaluation, whereas statistical analysis like similarity measurement, correlation coefficient, histogram, and entropy analysis uses to check image pixels deviation. The number of pixels change rate (NPCR) and unified averaged changed intensity (UACI) were used to check the strength of the proposed encryption technique. The proposed model is robust with high resilience against eavesdropping, insider attack, and chosen-plaintext attack.

Many Linear attacks have introduced after M. Matsui suggested Linear Cryptanalysis in 1993. The one of them is the method suggested by B. Kaliski and M. Robshaw. It was a new method using multiple linear approximations to attack for block ciphers. It requires less known plaintexts than that of Linear Cryptanalysis(LC) by Matsui, but it has a problem. In this paper, we will introduce the new method using multiple linear approximation that can solve the problem. Using the new method, the requirements of the known plaintexts is 5(1.25) times as small as the requirements in LC on 8(16) round DES with a success rate of 95%(86%) respectively. We can also adopt A Chosen Plaintext Linear Attack suggested by L. R. Knudsen and J. E. Mathiassen and then our attack requires about $2^{40.6}$ chosen plaintexts to recover 15 key bits with 86% success rate. We believe that the results in this paper contain the fastest attack on the DES full round reported so far in the open literature.
