  • 전기자동차의 축전지 관리 시스템(BMS : Battery Management System)의 잔존용량(SOC : State Of Charge)산정에는 Ah 측정법, 비중측정법, 전압측정법 등이 있다.

  • This paper presents a capacitive readout circuit for tri-axes microaccelerometer with sub-fF offset calibration capability. A charge sensitive amplifier (CSA) with correlated double sampling (CDS) and digital to equivalent capacitance converter (DECC) is proposed. The DECC is implemented using 10-bit DAC, charge transfer switches, and a charge-storing capacitor. The DECC circuit can realize the equivalent capacitance of sub-fF range with a smaller area and higher accuracy than previous offset cancelling circuit using series-connected capacitor arrays. The readout circuit and MEMS sensing element are integrated in a single package. The supply voltage and the current consumption of analog blocks are 3.3 V and $230{\mu}A$, respectively. The sensitivities of tri-axes are measured to be 3.87 mg/LSB, 3.87 mg/LSB and 3.90 mg/LSB, respectively. The offset calibration which is controlled by 10-bit DECC has a resolution of 12.4 LSB per step with high linearity. The noise levels of tri-axes are $349{\mu}g$/${\sqrt}$Hz, $341{\mu}g$/${\sqrt}$Hz and $411{\mu}g$/${\sqrt}$Hz, respectively.

  • An overview of Silicon Carbide (SiC) Static Induction Transistor (SIT) development is presented. Basic conduction mechanisms are introduced and discussed, including ohmic, exponential, and space charge limited conduction (SCLC) mechanisms. Additionally, the impact of velocity saturation and temperature effects on SCLC are reviewed. The small-signal model, breakdown voltage, power density, and different gate structures are also discussed, before a final review of published SiC SIT results. Published S-band (3-4 GHz) results include 9.5 dB of gain and output power of 120 W, and L-band (1.3 GHz) results include 400 W output power, 7.7 dB of gain, and power density of 16.7 W/cm.

  • In this paper, we propose a phase-locked loop (PLL) with dual loops in which advantages of both loops can be combined. Frequency-locked loop (FLL) which is composed of two frequency-to-voltage converters (FVC) and an amplifier makes the frequency synchronize very fast and output signal is synchronized in phase with the input reference signal by charge pump PLL. This structure can improve the trade-off between acquisition behavior and locked behavior.

  • This paper describes a 8bit 10MS/s low power pipelined analog-to-digital converter(ADC). To reduce power consumption in proposed ADC, a high gain op-amp that consumes large power in MDAC(multiplying DAC) of conventional pipelined ADC is replaced with simple comparator and current sources. Moreover, differential charge transfer amplifier technique with latch in the sub-ADC reduces the power consumption to less than half compared with the conventional sub-ADC which use high speed comparator. The proposed ADC shows the power consumption of 1.8mW at supply voltage of 1.8V. This proposed ADC is suitable to apply to the portable display device. The circuit was implemented with 0.18um CMOS technology and the core size of circuit is 2.5mm${\times}$1mm.

  • This paper presents an INS(Inertial Navigation System) grade, surface micro-machined differential resonant accelerometer(DRXL) manufactured by an epitaxially grown thick poly silicon process. The proposed DRXL system generates a differential digital output upon an applied acceleration, in which frequency transition is measured due to gap dependent electrical stiffness change. To facilitate the resonance dynamics of the electromechanical system, the micromachined DRXL device is packaged by using the wafer level vacuum sealing process. To test the DRXL performance, a nonlinear self-oscillation loop is designed based on the extended describing function technique. The oscillation loop is implemented using discrete electronic elements including precision charge amplifier and hard feedback nonlinearity. The performance test of the DRXL system shows that the sensitivity of the accelerometer is 24 Hz/g and its long term bias stability is about 2 mg($1{\sigma}$) with dynamic range of ${\sigma}70g$.

  • In this paper, we present an arrayed flexible tactile sensor, which can detect contact normal forces as well as positions. The tactile sensor is developed using Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) that is known as piezoelectric polymer, and the surface electrode is fabricated using silk-screening technique with silver. We develop a charge amplifier in order to amplify the small signal from the sensor, and a fast signal processing unit by using a DSP chip. The developed tactile sensor is physically flexible and it can be deformed three-dimensionally to any shape so that it can be placed on anywhere on the curved surface. In the future, the developed sensor is applied to a dexterous robotic hand...$\textbullet$ Tactile sensing, PVDF, Robot hand

  • This paper describes a weight in motion(WIM) sensor to measure the weight of a vehicle in motion. The main sensing element of the WIM sensor is the PVDF(Polyvinylidene fluoride) film that shows rapid response to an external excitation. Due to the property of rapid response, it is possible to measure the weight of a vehicle in motion with high speed. In the development of the WIM sensor, the dominant target value was the uniformity of the sensor. To increase the uniformity, We employed shrinkable tube made of rubber to enhance the uniformity, and performed the rolling of the brass tube repeatedly. The uniformity of the sensor was examined experimentally. It was comparable to that of a WIM sensor of the MSI which was the benchmark of this development. This paper also describes the mechanical modeling of the sensor and the suitable charge amplifier for the sensor.

  • In this research, a novel battery charge system with embedded diagnosis function is proposed by using online impedance spectroscopy. The impedance spectroscopy technique is employed to investigate the impedance variation of the battery thereby estimating the state of health of the battery. A small voltage perturbation is applied to the battery by the voltage controller of the bidirectional converter with no additional hardware and the impedance of the battery is then calculated by the digital lock-in amplifier embedded in the DSP of the charger. The design procedure of the proposed charger is detailed and the feasibility of the system is verified by the experiments.
