교수적 추론 도구로서 논증구조를 활용한 과학과 예비교사들의 가족유사성 PCK 특성 탐색 (Exploring Preservice Teachers' Science PCK and the Role of Argumentation Structure as a Pedagogical Reasoning Tool)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 논증구조를 교수적 추론 도구로 활용한 예비 지구과학 교사들이 말하는 논증구조의 역할과 실효성을 탐구하고, 이 과정에서 예비교사들이 보여주는 PCK 특성을 탐구하려는 것이다. 논증구조를 활용한 수업 계획과 성찰을 체험하는 일련의 교수적 추론과정에서 교사의 PCK가 발휘되므로, 본 연구에 참여한 예비교사들이 보여주는 미래지향적 가족유사성 PCK의 특성을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 15명의 예비 지구과학 교사들이 참여하여 논증구조를 활용하여 수업설계와 수업시연을 체험하고, 학기말에 수업 체험에 대한 심층면담을 실시하였다. 심층면담을 토대로 질적 분석을 실시함과 동시에 예비교사들의 가족유사성 PCK의 특성을 분석하기 위해 의미연결망 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면, 예비교사들은 논증구조를 적용하면서 수업을 조직적으로 계획하고, 사실에서 결론에 이르기까지 관련된 논증요소를 구분함으로써 짜임새 있게 수업을 구성하였다. 논증구조 구성요소별 특징을 살펴보면, 예비교사들은 사실과 결론의 징검다리인 논거, 반박, 한정어 등을 찾아내는 데 어려움을 겪은 것으로 나타났다. 논증구조로 인해 가장 많은 영향을 받은 PCK 영역은 과학수업 실천 부분으로, 수업내용에 적합한 수업모형선정, 과학수업을 통한 데이터 리터러시와 디지털 역량개발 등을 예비교사들은 강조하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 교수적 추론 도구로서 논증구조의 잠재력과 활용 가능성, 논증구조를 활용한 과학수업을 체험한 중등학교 학생들의 과학탐구와 추론 역량 개발의 가능성, 논증구조를 교수적 추론 도구로 활용하는 교사교육 프로토콜 개발의 필요성 등을 결론으로 제언하였다.

Formation of Pre-Service Teachers' Reflective Skills in Information Environment

  • The study deals with the problem of the formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills in information environment. The role of reflection as a mechanism of formation of a modern teacher's self-consciousness was cleared up. The technology of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills was characterized and tested. The main stages of the technology were: a motivational and cognitive stage, a problematic and practical stage, and a reflective and operational stage. The substantiated pedagogical conditions of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills were adhered. The criterial and evaluative characteristics of the formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills were worked out: components (reflection of personal conformity, reflection of the psychological and pedagogical barriers, reflection of professional growth); criteria (criterion of consistency, criterion of difficulty, criterion of potential); indicators (cognitive-evaluative, value-motivational, activity-creative). The levels of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills (insufficient level, acceptable level, and optimum level) were determined. The analysis of students' surveys showed the effectiveness and expediency of using the technology of formation of pre-service teachers' reflective skills in the process of professional training.

보육교사의 사회인구학적 변인에 따른 직무환경의 인식 차이 (The Difference of Child-Care Teachers' Perception on the Working Environment by Social and Demographic Characteristics)

  • This study aims to analyze teachers job satisfaction according to the working environment of teachers working in child-care centers and to investigate which variables of the working environment relate to job satisfaction of child-care teachers. The main results of this study were as follows. First, married teachers are more satisfied with the job itself, supervision, and colleague relations compared to teachers who are not married. Teachers with certificates are more satisfied with the job itself compared to teachers without certificates. Second, teachers's job satisfaction is significantly correlated with their salary, welfare, and colleague relations. Also teachers' job satisfaction is correlated with responsibility in the case that teachers have a good relation with their principal and child-care parents. Third, the results of this study show that teachers consider substitute teachers, vacation systems, day care systems, compliant with the ratio of teacher and children, job security, order of legal status as important. With regard to external compensation, teachers want salary increase, payment on overtime labor, flexible work-time, use of both full-time and part-time teachers, expansion of educational materials, increase on purchasing cost for textbooks and materials. To improve the quality of child-care teachers' working environment as well as their satisfaction, practical policies need to be implemented.

보육시설 평가인증이 보육교사의 보육활동 자료활용 및 유아와의 상호작용에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Childcare Centers Accreditation on Teachers' Utilization of Activity Materials and Interaction with Children)

  • Recently, many childcare centers have actively participated in assessment accreditation. 115 teachers who did participate or did not participate in the accreditation process completed a structured questionnaire, We examined differences between teachers in accredited centers and in non-accredited centers in terms of their individual characteristics, work environment, the utilization of activity materials and the interaction with children. In addition, using the regression model, we analyzed the effects of several characteristics of teachers and childcare center's accreditation on the utilization of activity materials as well as the interactions between teachers and children. The main results of this study are as follows. First, overall, the level of work environment of non-accredited centers was lower than that of accredited centers. Second, compared with teachers in non-accredited centers, teachers in accredited centers used more and higher levels of activity materials, and demonstrated a higher level of interactions with children. Third, including accreditation, use of helpers had a significant effect on the interactions between teacher and children. Forth, not only the accreditation system, but also work hours, work experience, children's age and use of helpers had a significant effect on using materials in childcare activities. Conclusively, understanding the experience of teachers in accredited centers is important hi terms of facilitating the quality of activities and the interactions with children.

수업 반성 저널을 통해 살펴 본 초등 교사의 과학 수업 반성의 특징 (Characteristics of Elementary Teachers' Reflection on Their Science Teaching Examined through Their Reflective Journals)

  • For decades, reflection has been recognised as a meaningful tool to bring forth teachers' ownership as well as knowledge and action empowerment in teacher education. Yet there have been few studies on elementary teachers' reflection on their science teaching in Korea. In this study, 71 reflective journals of 24 elementary teachers on their science teaching were analyzed. The characteristics of reflective journals were analyzed in terms of 'productive reflection', a concept suggested by Davis (2006). Unproductive reflection is mainly descriptive without analysis, whereas productive reflection can promote teachers' learning by integrating four aspects of teaching (learner/learning, subject matter knowledge, instruction and assessment). The result showed what elementary teachers consider and emphasize and how they integrate their ideas. Most of reflective journals included aspects of 'instruction', 'learner/learning', and 'subject matter knowledge'. However 'instruction' was emphasized most frequently (69.0%) than 'subject matter knowledge' (33.8%) and 'learner/learning' (26.8%). 'Assessment' was hardly included nor emphasized. More than half of the journals (56.3%) showed no integrations, which were unproductive reflection. A third of the journals (32.4%) integrated only two aspects among four. Average score of integrations was 1.6 on a scale of 4 points. The integrations were not affected by the length of reflective journals and the teaching experience. These findings suggest that productive reflection would not increase naturally with teaching experience and there needs more tactful guidance to develop elementary teachers' productive reflection on their science teaching.

교사들의 수업 분석 관점에 대한 연구 - 삼각형의 무게중심에 대한 수업 사례를 중심으로 - (A Study about the Characteristics of Teachers' Viewpoint in Analysis of an Instruction : Focused on a Centroid Teaching-Learning Case)

  • 이 연구는 현직 교사 38명이 삼각형의 무게중심 수업을 관찰한 결과를 검토하여 교사들의 수업 분석 관점의 특징을 기술함으로써 수업 실행 지식과 관련된 논의에의 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교사들이 작성한 수업 관찰 결과를 교사 지식의 분석틀인 KQ에 비추어 해석하였으며, 삼각형의 무게중심 교수-학습에 대해 선행 연구에서 지적한 주요 이슈와 관련하여 분석하였다. 이로부터 무게중심 수업 분석에서 드러나는 교사 지식의 특징을 6가지로 요약하였으며, 교사들의 수업 실행 역량 개발과 관련된 몇 가지 시사점을 논의하였다.

Perceived Discrimination and Workplace Violence among School Health Teachers: Relationship with School Organizational Climate

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of the school organizational climate with perceived discrimination and the workplace violence among school health teachers. Methods: The research design was a cross-sectional study. The subjects of the study were 350 school health teachers with more than one year of teaching experience. Data were collected online using a questionnaire. Research variables are general characteristics, organizational climate, perceived discrimination, and workplace violence. The relationship between organizational climate and perceived discrimination and the relationship between organizational climate and workplace violence were analyzed using regression analysis. Results: The score for organizational climate of health teachers was 3.10 out of 5 points, the score for perceived discrimination was 2.85 out of 5 points, and the experience rate of workplace violence was 16.9%. School organizational climate was related to both workplace violence and perceived discrimination. The subcomponents of organizational climate affecting perceived discrimination of health teachers were interrelationship and the level of compensation. The subcomponents of organizational climate affecting workplace violence of health teachers were interrelationship and autonomy. Conclusion: The improvement of the school's organizational climate can reduce the level of workplace violence and discrimination against health teachers. It is important to establish an appropriate evaluation system for health teachers and to recognize the role and expertise of health teachers. In addition, it is necessary for school administraters to actively support health teahcers and to create an organizational climate where they can be friendly and communicative.

유아교사의 근로여건이 전문성에 미치는 영향 분석 -교사의 웰빙과 효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로- (The Effects of Early Childhood Education Teachers' Working Conditions on Professionalism: Considering the Mediating Effects of Teacher Efficacy and Well-being)

  • Objective: The goal of this study was to investigate the effects of early childhood teachers' current working conditions such as welfare and wages, working hours, ECEC center's environmental characteristics, and parental involvement and community engagement on the professionalism of teachers. Method: A total of 988 respondents participated in the nationwide online survey. The data were analyzed by correlation analysis and structual equation modeling. Results: First, there were no statistically significant direct effects of ECEC teachers' working conditions on teacher professionalism. Second, there were significant direct effects of teacher efficacy and well-being on teacher professionalism. Third, there were significant indirect effects of teachers' working conditions on their professionalism, via efficacy and well-being, linking the impact of working conditions and the professionalism of teachers. Conclusion/Implication: The results of this structural model imply that policy input for teacher welfare, wage increases, and the enhancement of teachers' well-being and efficacy are valid and significant for the professional development of ECEC teachers. These results provide the data-driven evidence for the importance of welfare and socio-cognitive approaches for teachers.

『기술.가정』 교과 운영에 대한 교사의 인식과 요구 (The Perceptions and Needs of Teachers and Related Variables on the Curriculum Implementation of Technology and Home Economics)

  • The goal of the study is to find the necessary measures to facilitate a desirable Technology and Home Economics curriculum by reflecting the Perception and needs of the teachers from the perspective of the curriculum content. professionalism of the teacher realistic operations of the school . and the administration of the school system. The results obtained from the research are as follows : 1) The background knowledge and characteristics of the two curriculums are different. and in addition there is a negative perception due to the fact that it is hard to facilitate a class with just one teacher. 2) The issues that were most serious to teachers were professionalism of the teacher. qualification of the teachers. and teaching method. Also the teachers lacked in confidence in teaching and the curriculum itself. 3) In regards to qualifications of the teacher the teachers requested that teachers should have single qualification in 'Technology(or Home Economics)'or dual qualifications in both 'Technology' and 'Home Economics'. As for teaching methodology responded that from the teacher and student perspective the teaching should be divided whereas from the school's perspective the responsibility should be Put on a single teacher. 4) Teachers responded that from the perspective of the teacher, parent or student Technology and Home Economics should be separated into two subjects.

집단따돌림에 대한 교사의 인식 및 예방교육 이행 정도 (Perception about bullying and education for bullying prevention among teachers)

  • Purpose: This study is to investigate teachers' perception about bullying and education for bullying prevention. Methods: The subjects were 196 teachers who worked middle or high school in Seoul and Kyonggi province in 2008. We used self-administered questionnaires for bullying assessment that modified by the investigator. Chi-square and ANOVA test were performed to analyze the perception and education for bullying prevention. Results: The perception about bullying and education for bullying prevention of the teachers was examined in three domains; the perception about bullying's situation, cause, and solution. Teachers did not perceive bullying seriously but perceived that the main cause of bullying is personal characteristics. They recognized the solution of bullying is a responsibility for students, parent, teachers and society. The performance rate of education for bullying prevention was higher among teachers who perceived bullying seriously than the others. Conclusion: The teachers could recognize origin of bullying between students and also could solve this origin. So, teachers' role is very important than everything else to prevent bullying. Various education programs for bullying prevention should be developed.
