We examine the performance of genetic algorithms using binary encoding, with respect to a change of basis. Changing the basis can result in a change in the linkage structure inherent in the fitness function. We test three simple functions with differing linkage strengths and analyze the results. Based on an empirical analysis, we show that a better basis results in a smoother fitness landscape, hence genetic algorithms based on the new encoding method provide better performance.

A radial basis hybrid neural network (RHNN) is presented for an on-line detection of machine condition change. Two-phase modeling by RHNN is designed for describing a machine condition process and for predicting future signal. A moving block procedure is also designed for detecting a process change. A fast on-line learning algorithm, the recursive least square estimation, is introduced. Experimental results showed the RHNN could be utilized efficiently for on-line machine condition monitoring.

FFA는 1990년대 초반 이후 시장위험의 헤징을 위한 유효한 수단으로 대두되었지만 베이시스위험으로 헤징의 효과성이 크게 저해될 수 있다는 점과 현금흐름의 불일치 등이 활성화의 장애요인으로 지적된다. 본 연구는 FFA의 헤징효과에 영향을 미치는 베이시스위험에 대하여 분석하고 이를 축소하기 위한 대안을 제시한다. 베이시스위험은 시점불일치, 항로불일치, 선박크기불일치 및 저유동성 베이시스위험으로 구분할 수 있는데 그 중 시점불일치 베이시스위험은 특정일 기준으로 지급되는 실물 선박의 용선료와 일정기간의 평균으로 정산되는 FFA의 정산가격과의 차이에 의해서 발생하는 것으로 헤징오류 원인 중 가장 큰 차이를 발생시키는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 성약일 기준 용선료를 15일 간격 이동평균 용선료로 변경한다는 대안을 제시하고 이의 차이와 운임선도거래 정산가격과의 차이를 도출하는 것을 역사적 시뮬레이션을 통하여 실증분석하였다. 연구결과 시점불일치 베이시스위험은 15일 이동평균을 적용함으로써 현저히 축소시킬 수 있는 것이 확인되었다. 이 연구는 용선료 지급기준 변경을 통해 베이시스위험을 축소하고 궁극적으로 운임선도거래를 활성화시킬 수 있는 가능성을 제시함으로써 해운실무에 유의미한 시사점을 제시한다.

본 논문에서는 기저변환을 사용하여 효율적인 곱셈기를 구성하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 곱셈기는 두 입력부분 중 한 입력을 듀얼기저로 변환하는 표준-듀얼 기저 변환회로 모듈과 주어진 m차 기약다항식에 의해 $b_m$부터 $b_{m+k}$를 발생시키는 $b_{m+k}$차 발생연산모듈, $m^2$개의 AND 게이트와 m(m-1)개의 EX-OR 게이트로 구성되는 다항식 승산모듈로 구성된다. 또한, 듀얼기저로 표현되는 출력부분을 표준기저로 변화시켜주는 듀얼-표준 기저 변환회로 모듈로 구성되며, 각 연산부의 구성에 필요한 기본 연산모듈을 정의하였다.

With the consequences of climate change becoming more evident, research on climate-associated risks has become a basis for climate adaptation and mitigation. Amongst the different sectors and natural resources considered in assessing such risks, drought is one impact to our environment that experiences stress from climate change but is often overlooked and has the potential to bring severe consequences when drought occurs. For example, when temperatures are higher, water demand increases and water supply decreases; when precipitation patterns fluctuate immensely, floods and droughts occur more frequently at greater magnitudes, putting stress on ecosystems. Hence, it is important for us to evaluate drought risk to observe how different climate change and socioeconomic scenarios can affect this vital life resource. In this study, we review the context of drought risk on the basis of climate change impacts and socioeconomic indicators. As underlined in the IPCC AR5 report, the risks are identified by understanding the vulnerability, exposure, and hazards of drought. This study analyzed drought risk on a global scale with different RCP scenarios projected until the year 2099 with a focus on the variables population, precipitation, water resources, and temperature.

Gabor 코사인과 사인 변환은 영상주파수 성분을 국부적으로 표현하므로 영상과 비디오 압축 알고리즘에 사용될 수 있다. 압축과 복원에 사용되는 순방향과 역방향 행렬 변환식의 계산 복잡도는 O($N^3$)이다. 이 논문에서는 기저함수들의 길이를 절단하여, 희소기저행렬을 생성하고, 영상압축과 복원에 적용하여 실시간 처리에 용이하게 변환 계산량을 감소시키고자 한다. 기저함수 길이가 감소함에 따라서, 기저함수 에너지에 미치는 절단의 영향을 조사하고 다른 여러 측정량의 변화를 살펴본다. 실험 결과로부터 약 1% 이하의 성능저하로 11배의 곱하기/더하기 수를 감소시킬 수 있음을 보았다.

This study was attempted to analyze the change process of fisheries track's high school curriculum related with the 5th-7th revised national curriculum. To accomplish this goal, the nature and goals of fisheries track's high school were reviewed. First, it was found that the fisheries track's high school was classified into three groups; high school for special goal, characterization, and industry. And the goal of fisheries track's high school was designated to harmonize the general education and vocational education in high school goal. Second, the legal basis and system of national curriculum in fisheries track's high school were discussed. The legal basis of national curriculum in fisheries track's high school was prescribed to the 'Elementary and Secondary Education Act'. The system of national curriculum was composed the general guideline and subjects. Third, the change process of fisheries track's high school national curriculum was discussed. The system of decision, general guideline, and subjects in fisheries track's high school national curriculum were seemingly to be studied on the basis of the autonomy or diversity. In conclusion, the concrete content of fisheries track's high school national curriculum was not changed compared to the 5th-7th revised curriculum.

In this work, the free vibration problem of a rotating Rayleigh beam is solved using the meshless Petrov-Galerkin method which is a truly meshless method. The Rayleigh beam includes rotatory inertia in addition to Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The radial basis functions, which satisfy the Kronecker delta property, are used for the interpolation. The essential boundary conditions can be easily applied with radial basis functions. The results are obtained using six nodes within a subdomain. The results accurately match with the published literature. Also, the results with Euler-Bernoulli are obtained to compare the change in higher natural frequencies with change in the slenderness ratio (${\sqrt{A_0R^2/I_0}}$). The mass and stiffness matrices are derived where we get two stiffness matrices for the node and boundary respectively. The non-dimensional form is discussed as well.

In order to reduce the length of off-gauge at FGC(Flying gauge change) point, We adopted dynamic set up in No. 4 cold rolling mill. The conventional set-up of FGC(Flying gauge change) was calculated on the basis of preset values in the process control computer, so the difference between actual strip thickness and preset thickness cause long off-gauge. The dynamic SET-UP control was calculated on the basis of actual strip thickness of FGC(Flying gauge change) point from X-ray gauge of mill entry and No.i stand. We applied dynamic SET-UP control in September last year. Compare to the previous result, the length of off-gauge is reduced by about 36%.

During the last half a century the Korean rural society have experienced drastic changes : the retreat of Japan from the colonial interference and suppression in 1945, the Korean war and disorder in the 1950s, the implementation of the first and second five-year economic development plans in the 1960s, the ambitious implementation of the new village movement called Saemaul Undong to modernize the traditionally stagnant rural village in the 1970s, and socioeconomic and political turmoil in the 1980s. In this complex process of change the rural health care system in Korea was grdually reformed. This paper reviews the socioeconomic change and the basis of the changing structure of the health care system in rural Korea, on the basis of the existing literature and secondary data. Thus this is not a research paper but a review article in its nature. After reviewing the past and present situation, the directions and strategies for the reformation of the rural health care system are suggested.
