In order to prevent the ground subsidence accidents caused by the occurrence of underground cavity, it is necessary to evaluate the mechanical characteristics in the relaxation zone of the underground cavity. Also, the relaxation zone including underground cavity be appropriately reinforced. This paper described analysis results based on finite element method that was conducted to analyze the mechanism for occurrence of the relaxation zone around the underground cavity. The finite element analysis applied in forced displacement was carried out to simulate the underground cavity and relaxation zone, and then there were compared with previous research results. The analysis results showed that the void distribution of soil around the underground cavity has figured out. As a result, the area of the relaxation zone could be quantitatively presented by reduction characteristics of the shear stress.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the distribution of tensile stress of canal obturated maxillary second premolar with access cavity and notch-shaped class V cavity restored with composite resin using a 3D finite element analysis. The tested groups were classified as 8 situations by only access cavity or access cavity with notch-shaped class V cavity (S or N), loading condition (L1 or L2), and with or without glass ionomer cement base (R1 or R2). A static load of 500 N was applied at buccal and palatal cusps. Notch-shaped cavity and access cavity were filled microhybrid composite resin (Z100) with or without GIC base (Fuji II LC). The tensile stresses presented in the buccal cervical area, palatal cervical area and occlusal surface were analyzed using ANSYS. Tensile stress distributions were similar regardless of base. When the load was applied on the buccal cusp, excessive high tensile stress was concentrated around the loading point and along the central groove of occlusal surface. The tensile stress values of the tooth with class Ⅴ cavity were slightly higher than that of the tooth without class V cavity. When the load was applied the palatal cusp, excessive high tensile stress was concentrated around the loading point and along the central groove of occlusal surface. The tensile stress values of the tooth without class V cavity were slightly higher than that of the tooth with class V cavity.

A study of prediction and qualification techniques for structure borne booming noise is presented in this paper. Result from acoustic normal mode finite element analysis of a 1/2 size vehicle cavity sample model is compared to the that from an experiment. Coupled structural-acoustic analysis is performed on a 1/4 size vehicle cavity sample model surrounded by 2 mm thick normal steel plates. Interior noise levels around passensger's ear position are predicted and reduced by structural modification based on panel participation factor analysis about the sample cavity model. Futhermore, optimization technique in application of anti-vibration pad is studied.

Field penetration and scattering characteristics of two dimensional open cylindrical cavity is studied. Exact analysis for this sort of structure is not achieved even if there are unusual phenomena of field penetration and scattering with cavity and aperture size. In this paper, we calculate a wide range of open cavity characteristics by using of FMM method, which is extended method of MOM. We find external mode of open cylindrical cavity corresponding to internal mode of closed cavity. The characteristics of resonance and scattering of this region is different compare with non resonant area. The result of study will apply to the EM wave shielding and RCS control.
In this paper, acoustic transmission characteristics are theoretically considered on a cylindrical cavity system. The cylindrical cavity system is a simplified model of the acoustic cavity of King Seongdeok Divine Bell and it consists of a main cavity, a gap and an auxiliary cavity, Under a point sound source in the main cavity, acoustic frequency response property is determined and acoustic modes are analysed. The results are compared with those by the boundary element analysis using SYSNOISE. Using the proposed theoretical method, the effect of the auxiliary cavity and the gap on the resonance frequency and sound transmission characteristics is identified. Finally the best combination of the auxiliary cavity and gap is determined for the maximum transmission of the source frequency.

In this paper, we used FEM technique to perform warpage and von Mises stress analysis on PCB according to the cavity structures of embedded PCB for FCCSP and the types of prepreg material. One-half substrate model and static analysis are applied to the FEM. According to the analysis results of the warpage, as the gap between the cavity and the chip increased, warpage increased and warpage increased when prepreg material with higher modularity and thermal expansion coefficient was applied. The analysis results of the von Mises stress show that the effect of the gap between the cavity and the chip varies depending on prepreg material. In other words, when material whose coefficient of thermal expansion is significantly higher than that of core material, the stress increased as the gap between the cavity and the chip increased. When the prepreg with the coefficient of thermal expansion lower than the core material is applied, the result of stress is opposite. These results indicate that from a reliability perspective, there is a correlation between the structure of the cavity where embedded chips are loaded and prepreg material.
Cavity is inevitably included in automobile vehicle configuration. The complex unsteady flow and sound waves generated by the cavity are very important issues because of the involved fluid dynamics and the practical importance in the field of aerodynamics. The LES method used is a conventional one with Smagorinsky eddy-viscosity model and the computational grid is small enough to be handled by workstation-level computers. LES can successfully simulate of cavity noise analysis.

Purpose: This research targeted the high school students to analysis the behavior leading to oral health following the level of knowledge of and attitude towards oral health. Going steps further, this research examines the effect of the education on the oral cavity's health on the behavior leading to oral health to provide the need to conduct education on the oral cavity's health. Methods: High school students in the 1st to the 3rd grades in two high schools in Gyeongsangnamdo were targeted to conduct survey on 444 students. Collected data was subjected to the SPSS statistical program to obtain the frequency, percentage and average. Moreover, standard deviation, t-verification, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and logistics regression analysis were conducted. Results: First, average of the high school students' knowledge of and attitude towards oral cavity's health was higher when the education on the oral cavity's health was received compared to when education on the oral cavity's health was not received. Second, knowledge of and attitude towards oral cavity's health were high when there was the willingness to participate in the education on the oral health. In case education on the oral cavity's health was received, average of the knowledge of oral cavity's health was high, which manifested statistically significant difference. Average of the knowledge of oral cavity's health was high as well in case there is a perception that the need for the education on oral cavity exists. Third, the probability of having had their teeth scaled was higher when the total score for the knowledge of oral cavity's health was higher. The probability of having had their teeth scaled was higher when the score on the attitude for preventing periodontal disease was higher. Conculsion: These results demonstrate that the existence of high school students' education on the oral cavity's health, and knowledge of and attitude towards oral cavity's health exert significant influence on the behavior leading to oral cavity's health.

Injection molding operation consists of filling, packing, and cooling phase. The highest pressure is involved during the packing phase among the operation phases. Cavity pressure depends upon velocity to pressure switchover time and magnitude of packing pressure. The cavity pressure is directly related to stress concentration in the cavity of mold. Thus the observation and control of cavity pressure is very important to prevent mold cracking. In this study, cavity pressures were observed for operational conditions using the commercial CAE software, Moldflow. Operational conditions were velocity to pressure switchover time and packing pressure. Cavity pressures were also measured directly during injection molding. Simulation and experimental results showed good agreement.

A computational analysis has been conducted to investigate the detailed flow structure inside a supersonic cavity. The free stream Mach number and Reynolds number are 1.83 and $6.02\times10^5$ respectively. In the present study, the depth and width of the cavity are changed to investigate the effect of the cavity dimensions. A fully implicit finite volume scheme is applied to solve the three-dimensional, steady, unsteady, compressible, Navier-Stokes equations. The computed results are validated with the previous experimental data available. The present computation provides reasonable predictions of the cavity flow, compared with experimental results. The obtained results show that a shock wave is generated in front of the downstream edge of the cavity and the dominant frequencies of the pressure oscillations inside the cavity were obtained.
